Does modding edit the save files?

Is it required to start a new game for modding? Or can I safely use my existing game file. I know the modded cars get replaced with Miami mustangs when unistalling them, but is that the only issue?

 

Can mods corrupt save files?

No you don't need to start a new game. Just make a backup of you saved game. Should anything happen to the one you're using just replace with your backup.

 

I have yet to have any trouble with game saves and modding.
