Well selling cars can be a tricky game.. You mostly get alot of money for concept cars because once you sell them you can't get them back. Many people prefer cars with big mileage.. Not sure why but we do.. You can choose to sell a car for a lower price if you don't want to lose alot of money to the game by selling it back to the dealership.. Hope that helps..

i'll only post if i sell a bulk load of cars for cheap. or if i sell a concept car. i aint gonna make a post saying "buy my stock mustang coupe for 19,000 credits".

as far as the whole mileage thing, it seems cars are worth more with higher mileage? i dont get the mist of it either. i myself perfer cars with zero mileage.

Auction prices...

Heya, hopefully this thread might help.

I've asked this question in a few places but never seem to get an answer...

Alot of people sell cars at ridiculously high prices, when I have looked at selling my cars, (not that I particularly want to, i'm just a dead cat) I cant see where I get to set the sale price. its always set for me. :wtf:

Can anyone tell me what is going on. i.e. I saw a car on trade for $99,999,999  did some carazy person set that price themselves.

Cheers.

Ofcourse you can set yourself the price you sell your car at. You choose to sell a car, then it says "put up for sale" and something else, click put up for sale, then a price comes up with arrows. You change the price here.

As for high mileage cars, particularly within the forum spirit its nice to keep cars within the forum that have had a lot of miles put on the clock. Anyone can buy a new car, wheres the fun and originality in that?

And high mileage cars in the game, are like classic cars in real life. They have a rarity factor to them, thats why people will pay more.

With the ease at which you can get money in the game, I dont think some of the prices people ask for higher mileage cars at that ludicrous.

I do agree though that anyone who buys a car from trade that has 0 miles for anything more than the dealer price is an absolute fool, and it annoys me to see loads of cars that have just been bought and then listed for the same or a slightly inflated price. I'd far rather see trade full of high mileage cars, or tuned cars ready to drive (not a lot of effort to tune a car, but you know..). Its just full of crap these days.

getting it cheaper then the dealer sells um. i usually sell mines for 10-15 below the dealer price. hey every little bit counts.

i kinda get the idea of your high mileage theory about how they are kinda classic and become rare. though i still would rather have a new car or one with zero mileage. you dont know how much paint jobs that car has been through

  • 3 weeks later...

I, as well, do not see the point of agreeing to buy or sell a certain car here. Especially 'movie cars' and 'high mileage' cars (neither really matters), seem to be popular.

But the biggest problem I have is that (1) there is no traceability of cars, and (2) usually, if you look at trade, you can get it cheaper from anyone random than from someone here. For instance, today I almost 'bid' on an Enzo here, only to fire up TDU, look at trade, and spot a white satge 3 for $1,000. As in one thousand dollars. someone forgot a few zeros, i think, but I love them.

that, to me, is a much better find than a car from a movie on youtube. I don't want to sound harsh, but I just don't get it.
