Mike. You're my favourite snob. And I mean that's a tough competition. :p Hope you've had a fantastic birthday (I mean I've seen the pornstar martinis to know you have) and please for the love of god could everyone stop getting older, thanks. I mean happy birthday and yay for another year of Mike! :birthday:

tdu2 ATTENTION: TDU2 is perma-broken now (probably)

Maybe some ex-Atari dev could kindly leak the source code so we could fiddle with the physics... -

nintendo Introducing: The Nintendo Switch
TIMELESS replied to TurboDuck's topic in Gaming Discussion
These days Nintendo are really for casual gamers and party gamers I think. However with a console like this, opening it up to some Indie developers could yield some interesting, fresh, new titles for Nintendo. -
Your Automotive Web History: Where do you browse?
TIMELESS replied to CarMadMike's topic in Automotive Discussion
Shmeeeeee is everywhere. I rarely watch TV but the couple of times I have recently he's been on it, doing some sort of car show (on a Sky channel maybe?). The only thing I like about him is the fact he owns a Mini. But even then he seems a bit clueless about it. -

Yep October 2012 IIRC. I remember those (what we thought were) last days well. TDU2's map is fantastic, they added to and improved the already incredible Hawaii map and added a second Ibiza map. The graphics aren't incredible but they are pretty. If we could just fix those god awful physics. It may not ruin the game for everyone, but for me as a long-time TDU player it was just too bad in comparison. Even still, I've tried to pick it up a few times since and it just feels awful - weirdly disconnected from the inputs. I swear even the beta was slightly better. It's a true shame that Assetto Corsa can't handle large maps (supposedly the further away from the start point the worse the physics become) because that could answer all our prayers. -
nintendo Introducing: The Nintendo Switch
TIMELESS replied to TurboDuck's topic in Gaming Discussion
I really like the idea, and recently I've really wanted to get back into these kinds of easy fun arcade games, so I'm genuinely interested in this. However as you say, the game choice is... beyond limited. -
Yeah those kind of action pictures usually look awful, and I can't figure out why. I guess it's the lack of motion maybe? Like the car is just floating in the air. Dunno.

Mr Softie, your Japanese correspondent here. (apparently) The new Lexus LS: All-new 3.5 L twin-turbo V6 engine producing 415bhp/310kW and 600Nm of torque. 10-speed automatic transmission. It is a torque converter automatic, yet with shift times that rival those of dual-clutch transmissions. 0-62mph acceleration time of 4.5 seconds Built on Lexus’s new global architecture for luxury vehicles, an extended version of the rear-wheel drive GA-L platform that also underpins the new LC luxury coupe. The GA-L platform is the stiffest in Lexus’s history, setting the stage for improved handling, ride smoothness and cabin quietness. Lexus engineers used lightweight materials, including ultra-high-tensile steel and aluminium, to carve more than 90kg from the weight of the current LS’s platform and body. (It's still a boat though, come on) I quite like the front (it's not for everybody) but I think that ass is ugly. And apparently so do Lexus, since this was the best photo available...

There you go, that's the secret, use one design for all your cars and just stretch them to suit. It worked for BMW, and Audi, and now it's working for Mercedes. Where are those numbers from CLR?
