Not surprised about your mum not liking the color, once you see one of these in Valencia Orange, you pretty much fall in love. I did, at least.

I got up to 195 on an uphill on a busy bahn test driving the Golf at around 6pm, so it's not really that hard unless you're in the wrong lane. It's all about flashing those high beams. There was some old poop in a brown PT Cruiser chugging his old shoe along on the inside lane, no less.

Lightness of tools is very Germanic. Those will only get lighter as new cars come, and I'm very surprised how people still go for flappy paddles and automatics because of that (apart from those improving along as well, but nevermind). New manuals are an absolute gas to drive, and I thought even my 15-year-old Golf is surprisingly pleasant in that respect. Apart from the crunch in first. If your parents DO end up getting it, and I sincerely hope they do, actually invite me along next time. I can't believe we had both come so far and were so close, I could have driven past you!

    Congratulations, cis!

Anyway. As some of you may know, we've been wanting to buy a new whip for quite some time. I think about two years already. I won't go into details what led us to the car I'm writing about and why we want it and why the hell everything. When we buy the right car, you'll know everything. Long story short, as a part of a recent business/family trip to Germany (Thursday to Sunday), me and dad went to a BMW dealership in Oberhausen (pretty much where Hayley picked up her Golf) to test drive a BMW 135i Coupé. Hell yeah! Those cars are rare. There is not a single E82 available in the Czech. Not even a stupid 118d. They even gave me a two years old brochure in English!

Almost 980 km away from home, we arrived in Oberhausen in the late evening on Friday. The car had been parked between the billion of 520d's for a long time. The battery was low, the dealer had to jump start it. The power steering (BTW, electric) wasn't working due to the dead battery, so the sales agent? wasn't keen to let my father behind the wheel. I could barely fit in the back, but... DAMN. The sound is awesome. The power. Damn, even better. Daaayuuumm, do I want it! 10 minutes after, got back to the Autohaus, parked it inside the building so we could check it under lights. Spent some time talking to the dealer. He was an enthusiast, so we agreed that the 70's and 80's were the golden era of motorsport, my dad was remembering the 3.0 CSL flying through Brno Circuit and the dealer said that manual transmission is the best. Give this man a cookie.

The short Probefahrt, as Ze Germans say, wasn't enough. To make sure this car is the right one, father needed to get behind the soft and fat M Sport steering wheel. Signed some papers, jump-started the 135i, put a few liters in the fuel tank and... got stuck in the traffic. Hopefully, we somehow managed to get on the Autobahn, but it was busy too. 190 km/h was our maximum speed we could hit. Drove back to BMW, parked it, locked it and went to the guy's office with a big stupid smile on our faces. He asked us how we liked it and all I could say was "uhhh, yeah, awesome".

Quick impressions on the car (really, didn't spend much time driving it; 25 mins): Dad said that the clutch and transmission is very light. Much lighter than in our E91, which was surprising being it a sporty coupe. That's probably the biggest dislike about the car apart from cheap plastics in the cabin. It felt a tiny bit softer than the E91, again we did not expect this. 'Faster' steering, too, but this is done by the optional Active Steering. The engine? Powerful. Enough said.

The price of this car is really, really good but some idiot forgot to add xenons and my mom is not keen on the color though. So not sure if this is the right one.

    Sorry for the crappy photos.

Deep Sea Blue, Titanium Silver, Space Gray.

    Ready to rock.

At the fuel station. Oyster/Black interior.

I am in love with the 135i. Like, totally. It doesn't matter if you don't like the looks. Drive it. I think the 125i will be too slow for us after having driven this little pocket rocket.

Any grammar mistakes? Tell me. Any questions? Ask me.

    BMW + RWD + 6 cylinders + 3 pedals =

And thus, after a gruesome 27-hour bus ride to Osnabrück, Germany, 8 hours of combined sleep in 5 days, 16-hour driving stints, getting lost in Poland (twice), 20 speed camera captures and getting stopped by probably the most beautiful traffic police officer on the planet, here she is:

My Mk.IV Golf GTI 2,3. Yes, that's the V5. Yes, it sounds awesome. Yes, it's quick enough to go beyond this:
