So these are the new wheels for 2017... I thought they were going for larger rim diameters with thinner side walls, but it seems they just underlined "balloon" in "balloon tires". Current widths btw are 245 and 325. They've been tested by Ferrari already as you can see below, Red Bull and Mercedes will start testing in the upcoming days. The other teams thanked for the opportunity, most likely the costs are too high for them. Their earliest shot at driving on these steamrollers will be around november/december.

Little update: bought some stuff for the car. Most of the stuff was some basic care products and cloths, all through MB. Also ordered special center caps with the fancy AMG graphics on it which I now find too nice to put them on the car . They were expensive, but OEM and I prefer these over the colored once you can find on ebay. Other people might find it badge-engineering but at least my car had the AMG pack from the factory and no matter which rims I'll end up buying, they'll be AMG ones. I won't do anything else, no spoiler lip, no actual AMG bumpers and no quad exhausts. Rest of the order was basically a folding crate, and a set of valve covers (which will go on the car :p). As I was at family in the north of the country for 1,5 week, I got the chance to make some better pictures than what I'd be able to do around my own city. Weather could have been worse, but could also be better, let me know when you found the control panel for it. I'm still a noob at handling cameras but I think the pictures came out well.

2017 Ford GT: What is Ford playing at?
CLR-GTR replied to TurboDuck's topic in Automotive Discussion
Also saw it recently about SHSSHSMMMMMMMMMMEEEYYY, I was already wondering ''is he such a massive Ford enthusiast and owner?''. But what dominated was indeed the feeling that Ford just made a nice PR story to make the car extra attractive, with in the end the big shots missing out, and the youtube celebs winning the nominations. And how often will they film their car? I don't know a lot of such youtubers, but I thought most of them are about car spotting and riding shotgun in other people's cars, instead of uploading 500 vids on what they do with their own? -
If I'd compare it to dutch prices (MSRP entry-model to top-model) maybe the 6-series júst made it or should júst be kicked out... it's also actually just a 2-door 5-series, not a 2-door 7-series: BMW 6-series: 94.400 <> 173.700 MB S-Coupe: 127.400 <> 318.900 MB SL: 118.000 <> 313.900 911: 115.100 <> 238.800 Panamera: 100.200 <> 248.400

AM Vanquish, top spec 6-series and Merc E63 Coupe and SL I'd think. Perhaps also base Bentley Continental GT or Merc S-Coupe, but I can imagine those are a lot more luxurious and way more towards comfort than a 928 revival.

Windows 10 - Let's talk about where we want to go today
CLR-GTR replied to Ryzza5's topic in General Discussion
I updated, partially because I hoped it would fix my pc issue, but also because I already had in mind I'd upgrade anyway. In its turn, the free upgrade is the reason I bought the cheaper Windows 8.1 instead of the more expensive 7. -
Update on Driveclub's future: the Japanese Playstation website is said to have mentioned a 13 October release date in Japan for Driveclub VR, alongside Playstation VR. It will use 3D audio to create a realistic sound experience, it will come with new urban race courses and there will be an improved mode for viewing cars. Can't check it for myself. I read it on VG247.com but when clicking the link, I think I hit an ''article-not-found'' page. http://gematsu.com/2016/07/driveclub-vr-announced-playstation-vr

The ferris wheel is aligned with direction of the pier. In V, it's not.

Apparently the Strategy Group (6 biggest teams, Bernie and Jean) has voted against early-adaptation of the >>>>>H@LO<<<<!!!!!!-device. Teams were already not very happy with current solutions, not in the last place because of looks, and whether or not the cockpit should be closed off entirely if they're at it anyway. Result of this is that 2017 will still have open cockpits. The teams want more time to come up with something better than the rushed improvised solutions that have been tested so far. I think it's a good decision. If F1 will have to get better cockpit protection, imo you might as well close it entirely with a good looking canopy instead of that stupid Y-bone Ferrari and RedBull have tested in real. Ofcourse everything has its downsides, then again you can never fully eliminate the danger of severe injuries or fatal accidents. I'm curious to see what they'll end up using. BIG EDIT: there seems to be more news: - the ban on radio communications between drivers and team during races has been lifted immediately. It will still be forbidden during formation laps to prevent teams instructing their drivers how to achieve optimal starts. - as of now, there are no more penalties for passing track limits as it would be difficult to have everybody agree on whether the pass gave any advantages. - rolling starts behind the SC during rainy races are no more as of now. The SC will lead the field for a few laps to determine the situation (as usual), but when the SC goes in, all drivers will line up on the starting grid for a standing start. It is expected that tire changes will not be allowed until after completing the first lap after race start. - from 2017, during an interruption of the race, no changes to the F1 cars are allowed. This means for example no more free pitstop and tire change during a red flag. Source of all this is motorsports.com

What the hell are they doing... Lol.

Just because I have too much hope, and because we got a year before we find out if anything was true: This image comes from Bild.de, where this whole rumor originated from. I couldn't read on what they based this picture and rumor off, because ofcourse the detailed bit of the article is so called Bild+, aka subscription required to read the rest. I have mixed feelings... shockingly this wouldn't be the first time they'd get the main stuff correct. Then again, it really is rather extreme. Too extreme for today's Merc to even just sell 20 of. Maybe it will fit right next to the Vision GranTurismo, somewhere in storage as a one of those freedom studies designers seem to need.

forza horizon 3 Forza Horizon 3: Garage Week 2
CLR-GTR replied to TurboDuck's topic in Driving & Racing Games
You still have hope for one, there's still up to 100 cars to announce if I'm correct. EDIT: very nice list. Too bad imo of the EB110 SS, those wheels just look so cheap and uninspired compared to the GT's sewer covers. -
True. If a competitor doesn't show up with it, they'll first look at what the Chinese market demands (the reason there's no convertible SUV >yet<). If that won't work, they'll look if Nissan and/or Renault have something in stock, and if that doesn't work, it just doesn't work. And then I wonder... is that carbon copy X6 so incredibly successful? Is that rebadged Kangoo such a magnificent product? Would a modern day limited edition supercar or hypercar really be so bad for your brand's image? Is anything that won't sell 10.000 units so invisible to the world? I'm sure Bugatti would like to answer those last two questions :p But what do I know, it's all about the business cases. Also, here are the 9 last DB9's, they've gone through the bespoke department (see the Q badges) and all seem to have the same paintjob.

Lol I didn't mean 'like a CLK-GTR' that literally, I meant more in terms of position within the line-up. It was a supercar of its day so far above the rest of the offer. Today, they don't have such a car. They have the AMG GT, which is just a GT and made for all-day practicality, and that car gets surpassed soon by the image-setter of the brand (E-Class). @scott: it would be awesome to see one, but the man who gives silly reasons not to make one happens to be the boss of the division. He thinks they're useless overpriced cars you can't see on the street and therefore have 0 effect on brand exposure/fame. They can't be sold in large quantities (I think they're looking at minimal 10.000 units) and AMG wouldn't have the capacity to make one anyway.

Where it may come from is anybody's guess but considering multiple sites including GT Spirit are starting to copy the story: Mercedes-AMG would be making a hypercar. It would first be shown next year to mark AMG's 50th anniversary, hence the R50 model name. It would be a car similar to the Aston Martin RedBull supercar, and get 1300hp out of a 1000hp fourcylinder and the rest out of 2 electric motors. GT Spirit says it will be what the CLK-GTR was back in its days, a top-spec racecar for the road. Low weight, narrow cockpit and lots of carbon fiber should do the job, though it could be counteracted by any Merc safety systems and stuff like rear wheel steering (C112 and AMG GT had this too). Funny that everybody mentions AutoBild as a source for this, but on their website I couldn't find anything about it. Also keeping in mind the one CEO leading the AMG division multiple times expressed very strong dislikes to supercars/hypercars, this could be a case of ''where there's smoke, Scott left the smoke generator on".

If it's gonna be Eden Games again, they should get a publisher who gives them time to do stuff right, get enough funding to obtain interesting licenses, tech and SKILLED people, and actually understand what people would want from a racing game like this. TDU2 made the wrong steps somebody assumed was forward, the game could technically have offered more, the car list can be a tad bigger than 80 cars (remaining 20/30 were DLC or preorder) and ofcourse a lot traces right to Atari being the leading party, from a beta that wasn't taken seriously to poor support to not having the money or feel to get it done right. They got it right once, with TDU1. But I don't see this happening. I think the best option to bring TDU3 where it should be, surprising and well packed, would be to put the best team at it, and then I'd say Turn10 or Evolution Studios. I have no experience with DriveClub's and Forza's festival stuff, but it shouldn't be too hard to create something a bit more convincing than the Squabbling Bros. Ofcourse Evolution Studios might be a bit more difficult now but you never know. First see how FH3 turns out.

This is not a phone camera, it's a camera camera, Samsung Galaxy S2. This one:

Dunno if this is the best place to ask this, otherwise I'll make a new topic for it, but I have a problem with my camera. For the last few weeks I've been trying to take pictures of my car, and I'm seeing a very annoying pattern come back all the time: the camera (Samsung Galaxy 2 cam) focuses on just a very small portion of the car. Usually it seems to focus on the nearest corner of the car, so the more distant wheel already gets blurred. However, I've also already had one case where the more distant wheel was the sharpest one and the nearer bit of the car was blurred. And on the pictures I recently made for wheel tryouts, the car is seen from the side only, and the nose is blurry and the tail is sharp... :fp: How can I fix this? Can some settings perhaps fix it? Or is this simply rubbish handling from my side? :(

Not that it should matter and it's just for me (who most likely won't buy the game) but it would have been nice to see a bit more imagination and a bit less the-easy-way-out for the Merc offer. They can do it, they've proven that with the M635, 2002 and 90's M5. I guess it's just all licensing costs, and simply the fact they want so many cars in a game they'll reach a point not even selling 6 billion copies will cover the costs of relicensing cars for every new installment. But that's just guessing.

Autocar.co.uk reports to have spoken to a source confirming McLaren will introduce a modern-day equivalent of the F1 for 2018. It will be a 3-seater hyper-GT designed to look more like a piece of art and to let its driver travel in style and at 'supreme' speed, while also being more luxurious than any other McLaren. Only 64 would be build (F1 production number) of the car which would currently go by the BP23 project name, referring to Bespoke Project 2 - 3-seater. Ye all vague stuff going on here...
