  1. Will be shown in Frankfurt: Mercedes Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile (see what they did there?)... It looks like a slightly more realistic version of the autonomous F015 and I expect this to evolve into a CLS bodystyle, considering the shooting brake might already be on its permanent way out. I like it from what I can see so far except that bubble top :oook:
  2. Either I'm reading it wrong, or you're using an interesting definition of little :p : Keyless entry = Keyless go, that means at least 3 new antennas, new doorhandles on the outside, a new control unit and a modified ignition as Keyless Go has a starter button. This is a system that shows coupes really are cheaper than sedans though, having 2 less doors to worry about xD For memory seats, I believe mirrors are affected as well (automatic down-tilting when in reverse) and perhaps also the steering column upon entry. Ventilated seats... well you have heated ones already so that saves a bit of work, but you'll need new seat upholstery because ventilated seats = perforated leather. I don't know what an MbenzNL would charge for anything of this since he never mentions costs in his retrofit topics, but keeping this in mind nothing of this will be a mere three-digit job since the work above requires disassembly of almost everything inside and there's some programming work to do.
  3.:eek::eek: This synthetic perspective view of Pluto, based on the latest high-resolution images to be downlinked from NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft, shows what you would see if you were approximately 1,100 miles (1,800 kilometers) above Pluto’s equatorial area, looking northeast over the dark, cratered, informally named Cthulhu Regio toward the bright, smooth, expanse of icy plains informally called Sputnik Planum. The entire expanse of terrain seen in this image is 1,100 miles (1,800 kilometers) across. The images were taken as New Horizons flew past Pluto on July 14, 2015, from a distance of 50,000 miles (80,000 kilometers). This 220-mile (350-kilometer) wide view of Pluto from NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft illustrates the incredible diversity of surface reflectivities and geological landforms on the dwarf planet. The image includes dark, ancient heavily cratered terrain; bright, smooth geologically young terrain; assembled masses of mountains; and an enigmatic field of dark, aligned ridges that resemble dunes; its origin is under debate. The smallest visible features are 0.5 miles (0.8 kilometers) in size. This image was taken as New Horizons flew past Pluto on July 14, 2015, from a distance of 50,000 miles (80,000 kilometers). Two different versions of an image of Pluto’s haze layers, taken by New Horizons as it looked back at Pluto's dark side nearly 16 hours after close approach, from a distance of 480,000 miles (770,000 kilometers), at a phase angle of 166 degrees. Pluto's north is at the top, and the sun illuminates Pluto from the upper right. These images are much higher quality than the digitally compressed images of Pluto’s haze downlinked and released shortly after the July 14 encounter, and allow many new details to be seen. The left version has had only minor processing, while the right version has been specially processed to reveal a large number of discrete haze layers in the atmosphere. In the left version, faint surface details on the narrow sunlit crescent are seen through the haze in the upper right of Pluto’s disk, and subtle parallel streaks in the haze may be crepuscular rays- shadows cast on the haze by topography such as mountain ranges on Pluto, similar to the rays sometimes seen in the sky after the sun sets behind mountains on Earth. 4. And remember, if your dad misses certain equipment (ventilated seats, memory seats), contact MBenzNL. Although he's based in holland, he also travels to retrofit stuff. Ofcourse comes at a cost, but it'll be 100% OEM. If the dealership says it's impossible, don't take that answer for granted :p
  5. AMG sports pack? Should have lowered and firmer suspension, ofcourse in addition to the exterior differences (bumper with the boomerang LED's and sportier intakes, ventilated brakes, sporty wheels). You should get the VIN number of that car. I can do it, but the dealership can also do it: get a datacard of the car. Then you know all optional equipment.
  6. Wow nice. Looks good in red too, never seen one before in red. Only the estate model in hyacinth red (I assume this is the base-paint red... fire opal or something or jupiter red, dunno what it's called today). That car will definitely stand out :p
  7. Yep. Nothing as safe as sending vehicle protection improvements on a simcard-ish device via postal services. :nods:
  8. Jeep solved the hacking issue their cars were vulnerable to: :sohappy:
  9. Tesla's officially premium with the release of their own hunchback: Posted by Groen7 but uploaded to the web by people who managed to get in the configurator (which apparently unlocked to those who paid a 5K deposit on a Model X).
  10. Leather airbag.... that's rare. I assume it's an AMG airbag cover?
  11. Molten butt and a front badge I expect to wobble up and down when the car tries to sniff the road: Images from worldcarfans.com Definitely don't like it. They're trying too hard once again to stand out with weird lines and surfaces all over the place. Nothing lines up and it's so overdone.
  12. Awesome o.O
  13. As the title says, the Post New Thread button for the Feedback & Support subforum is missing from its position left top corner of the topic listing. Running Chrome, but it's also missing in MS Edge.
  14. S: To me it shows Merc is cannibalizing their own cars. The legroom in the back seems to be less than in a 2-door E-Class. Shows how much is true of ''there finally is a convertible again for 4 adults''... Doesn't matter though, Coupe ftw and I wouldn't buy this to be a taxi driver. SL: like every facelift and AMG version, it doesn't fix the core issues with the appearance of this SL, which is the shape of the taillights with the massive trunklid, and seen from the side the enormous nose of the car. I don't get it, despite homologation issues they do change the headlights, why not do the taillights as well? Seems for this facelift, I'm only interested in seeing what the upside down grille will be like.
  15. Which makes me think ''why not market Lexus a bit more''... Can't imagine a Lexus is that expensive and has a worse reputation than Toyota.
  16. @calster: that's an old Dutch license plate. Was at a meeting of the dutch/belgian merc-forum. Interesting cars, both of members of the forum as of the belgian ''BBA'' crew. The car on picture 3 has a 5.4 V8 instead of the 4.3 Merc sold it with. The owner badged it as a C54 AMG. There were just a few oldies, there were also some Smarts, some cars original and some tuned.
  17. They forgot the Lexus badge. I also wonder who came up with the idea to put that much chickenmesh into a bumper of a Toyota sedan. It's even more open than an AMG or M bumper. I like the stock version better, although it reminds me a little bit of the ASMA bumpers.
  18. Yep, same here. See the Prius, in its unnatural habitat the left lane, doing 140 km/h which even surprises the manufacturer. And then ofcourse they cry on the news ''WEHHH my Prius doesn't do the MPG Toyota says it can do'' (even though that MPG is also established via a nonsense test cycle).
  19. Nice.... ....cloth they put on it.

  21. I like the new style diablo. Nicely done. :nods:
  22. Well, installing a new, clean Windows 8, then 8.1, then 10 didn't fix the issue. I started ETS2 and within 3 minutes it froze up. Seems I have to do the shop thing. There ís no other solution anymore. And windows 10 logs are nowhere more accurate than 8's.
  23. Initially I thought that 10162 would work. I found tables stating it would no longer work in October, giving me more than enough time to upgrade via a tech preview. But in my case it didn't work, ah well. Thanks for the help.
  24. Solved this issue. Reinstalled windows 8 (build 10162 activation already expired at launch of 10), then all updates, then 8.1 and now I'm running windows 10. Case closed I think.
  25. On the link Ryan provided me, it said this last preview build would no longer be valid in october. That shóuld be enough time for me. Otherwise I do have to reinstall 8 again.
