  2. Offroad only: Buggy Rest: Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722s, Audi S5, Bugatti Veyron 16.4, Ruf RTurbo, and the Aston Martin DBS.
  3. Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG, McLaren MP4-12C, Aston Martin DBS and my Land Rover Range Rover Sport.
  4. Yeah I'm on the CLK VS DBS thing too, I could buy both but not really interested in doing that since I don't know how money will be later in the game. The CLK seemed quicker if you could drive it on the edge, but the DBS seemed easier to drive...not sure. C4 - Lancia C3 - Jaguar E-Type B4 - Range Rover B3 - ML 63 AMG A7 - Brera A6 - WRX A5 - S5 A4 - V8 Vantage A3 - DBS/CLK AMG A2 - ? A1 - ? Haven't gotten to the A2 and A1 cars yet so haven't tried them...ever. I have not driven cars above the level I'm on, makes A2 and A1 more fun to get to.
  5. I agree with the Golf VI GTI...that thing was so garbage...I ended up ditching it for the Brera.
  6. First impressions: Rushed. Unfortunately this game does look very rushed, and my guess is it is. The story is more useless and pathetic than its predecessor, but really, no one pays attention to it. Too bad the voice acting is so gay, I thought i was becoming homophobic. If you can get over that, then it does get better. The cars look alright, but coming from Gran Turismo, there is a lot to be desired. There have been some new features added into the game that do help, but start to get tedious at times. Overall the game looked alright, played alright in the first little bit, but other than that, it takes a lot to get through the first part of the game. Cars: the car list is lacking and is close to the same number of cars at launch for the first game. The cars look pretty and those that are convertibles can have their roofs retracted. They have even added indicators, so that was cool. Gears are really weird and seem to be too slow, and sometimes the buttons don't register in the game so you're stuck in the same gear and can lose valuable time. The cars handle oddly as they appear to have no friction when you are not on the accelerator on the turns, it's really weird. It takes a bit getting used to but it's not so bad when you do.... Bikes will arrive as DLC but a few SUVs have made an appearance so the car list is a little more varried. Map: There are two islands, you start in Ibiza and are able to travel to Hawaii at level 10, the island that was in the first game. Ibiza looks nice, the graphics and scenery are much nicer than the previous game. The roads are all pretty flat, but offroad is very weird and is basically the same with a bit of bumps, in some cases a lot of bumps but it still feels a little weird. There is now an implementation for day/night cycle, which seems to happen every half hour I believe. There is also weather effects...which you can check the weather from your house. Houses: Houses are bought as you progress through the game (except the first one), in your house you can change your clothes, change the cars (each house has a specific number of spots for cars...2 cars, 4 or six). The houses range in price and get larger as you progress, the larger houses also have more furniture (to change furniture, you go to the item, select the menu and go through it to see what you like). This is where you can have parties online, invite people over (they can even go with you in your car for a cruise) and whatnot. The new addition for houses and dealerships are that you can move your avatar on your own (think the new PSN Home), and instead of it acting as a menu, you walk around the house and dealerships to select what you want. Dealerships have stayed the same, with the addition of a "used" car dealer. He gets new cars every so often and they are a bit cheaper than if you went to the dealer. Sound: It's okay but some engine notes are very off, but there isn't really anything here that is worth mentioning. There is no way to play my own music and there are only two radio stations, which repeat relatively quickly...play with the radio off and the engine sounds may anger you, play with it on and the music will annoy you. Gameplay: It takes a bit getting used to, you need to get licenses before you start in challenges. Luckily you do get walk throughs so you don't need to figure too much out, it is relatively easy. You will get calls on your cell phone telling you about new objectives, unfortunately that gets really annoying if you don't want to do anything. Leveling: There are a four ways to level up: Discovery, Racing, Social, Collection. Each way helps your global level and gain new items. Discovery is going around and finding things on the island, new roads, photos and car wrecks. Basically exploring. Racing is completing the championships and becoming a better driver. Collection is buying cars, furniture, clothes and houses...the more items you have the more your collection rises and you will level up as well. Social is your interaction with others on multiplayer and having clubs, as well as challenging other players or taking their challenges. Basically dealing with friends. Overall: The game isn't bad...if you can get over the bugs that appear (there are many), and you liked the first, the game is worth getting. The cars are lacking but hopefully we see some decent returns on the download content...if not, jump on the PC version and grab the cars that are released by mods and just ditch the garbage that is in the game. 100 cars is plenty. Since I like the style of game, I like the ability to cruise in cars I like and just roam. The game itself leaves a lot to be desired, however, it is fun to pick up and play. It's too bad that you have to deal with the stuff in the beginning (licenses, intro and whatnot) to get anywhere. If you don't care for the racing though, you can earn money in other ways and ignore the championships. You will need to find all the dealers and stores and by doing that you need to explore. It's been pretty negative so far, but, regardless of all that, the game is fun. Why? You're open to do whatever you like...there are no menus to interrupt game play (they appear right on screen). The ability to take the Veyron, Zonda, CCX-R or the WRX Sti and just drive around, cruise, enjoy the environment. The active Aero makes it look really fun, but if you are expecting Gran Turismo refinement, don't look here, but if you truly like the ability to collect cars, houses, clothes and like cruising...then honestly, all the negative I mentioned can be overlooked. I won't deny that as soon as I get a working, decent PC I'll probably buy a PC one and start modding. I'll bring in cars that I feel should be there simply so that I can enjoy it more, until then the other versions are decent. If you liked the first one, you'll love this one too.
  7. The only thing Atari has accomplished by any of this is the PC Game will probably sell a bit better...not enough to make a dent though. I'll probably get the PC version and the Xbox version. Why? Modding. Given that Forza 3 has been cracked for cars, it's only a matter of time before TDU 2 starts getting some of the Forza 3 cars and a bunch of old cars get ported in...if someone can find a way to add the number of cars in the game, theoretically you'll have a very large mod base...
  8. I get bored pretty fast, so probably one of these, and I'll probably decide by which has the lowest mileage at the time so they are all driven relatively evenly. In TDU 1, my Gallardo, 360CS, CLS55 AMG, S6 and a few others had the most miles, but they were all within 10's of each other. GT Touring: Aston Martin DBS Coupe or Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 2 Door sports: Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG, Audi R8 5.2 FSI Coupe, McLaren MP4-12C or Aston Martin V12 Vantage Exotic: Bugatti Veyron 16.4 5 Door: Audi RS6 Avant or Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG List subject to change pending on Download Content.
  9. Errr, just want to make a quick correction here. You're half right...sort of. Ruf has one devision that modifies current Porsche vehicles, upgrading their performance and sometimes adding aerokits. Cars like the Ruf RGT, Daraka and so forth are not actually in that branch of the business. The reason Ruf can be added into many games is because they can be considered a manufacturer in some cases (similar to Gemballa for some of their vehicles as well). The reason for this is because all Ruf does is buy their chassis' from Porsche. Once Ruf buys the chassis' from Porsche, they build the car ground up as they see fit. If they were just modifying cars then the car would still be considered a Porsche and thus it would not be allowed in the game, because the license for the vehicle belongs to Porsche. Some engines may be similar but I'm pretty sure they are inhouse or also bought from the company, but they aren't just "modified" Porsches in this case.
  10. Yeah, out of the bunch i'll probably be driving the Mercedes ML the most, then the CLK Black and then the SLR...if they had the CLS, that would have been at the top too and same with the C/S classes.
  11. Apparently, I had a copy preordered for this game a long time ago, found out the other day when I was talking to my friend who works at the EB I usually frequent and he mentioned that i had the preorder for Test Drive and Gran Turismo, so i was able to get him to shift the Gran Turismo pre order to Test Drive...haha.
  12. So pretty much missing cars are padding the Download Content. McLaren F1, Nissan GT R34 and a few others will be able to sell full packs because they're iconic and whatnot...IF they are in.
  13. If true, and this isn't the complete list, I'll be less bothered by not having Lamborghini in. I know I shouldn't complain about it, and I'm not in a sense, but given that they've been in every game up to this point, it's just weird not having it and If I had to choose between Ferrari and Lamborghini, I would have gone with the Lamborghini camp. That being said though, if more luxury cars/sedans show up in the list I can see me not being super bothered by the lack of the Gallardo LP560-4...it'll just feel the same for me as it did missing in Forza.
  14. Lexus wasn't on release last time either, and given that Toyota isn't in I wouldn't be surprised if Lexus held back again as well. Given games like Forza 3 and Gran Turismo being able to drop cash, I won't be surprised if many lisencing issues fell through based off funds. That said: Anyone else find it weird that Ferrari was cool with the fact that this game has more intense car chases but they had issue's with Hot Pursuit?
  15. It already gets blurred anyway though. I purposely used the most blurred set up to see how many cars there are down to the core. You can argue that the F430 Scuderia and 16M are different, but the R8 Coupe and Spyder really are the same car. Similarily the V8/V12 Vantages, S5/RS5 should be considered two separate models at the same time because they only really share the same design. That's why I blended the Veyron as one because I meant to be consistent with what I did. Whether right or wrong, to me, and at this car lists lowest number, a Coupe and Spyder/Convertible are the same car. At it's lowest number you have 80 cars, if you expand it separating coupes/convertibles and high-performance variants then you're up to 95 or so. Obviously there were some exceptions, like the SLR and Stirling Moss, those are vastly different regardless of having the same name. I see your point though, but I think it's one way that many may not agree (that or just me) but if anyone wants feel free to correct it. That being said, I'm not surprised by Lamborghini. The thing is, asking for the same amount makes no sense when you have a quarter of the cars as Ferrari in licensing. I will be honest that it does severely disappoint me that Lamborghini is not in (I Really wanted the LP560-4), but we'll see how it turns out without them. Given there are still some cars I want to drive in the game, I'll see how it turns out. Guess many of the licensing deals changed with the new game so the old cars got taken out or saved to fill the DLC.

Kind of like Midnight Club: Los Angeles all over again, innit? All said and done I may end up buying it if they do everything else well.
  17. Wasn't, my point was in a game this small to not port notable cars from the first to the second makes no sense. I merely listed cars that were in the first list but didn't show up. It's a moot point now given that it appears that this isn't the full list. The thing is though TDU car count at the end of the game was 135 I believe, so even then we're still missing about 30 - 40 cars, it makes no sense. Yeah, TDU 1 released with 90, and this is at 101, but you wouldn't knock out that many cars to put in what we got to fill an extra ten spaces. It's nonsensical.
  18. I'm curious about the 360 Challenge Stradale...it wasn't in Gran Turismo either...is something going on with that car now with licensing? I was hoping for that. I'm pretty annoyed with the car list myself, at the same time, I find it hard to believe that this is the full official car list. I'm inclined to say this might just be half of it or 3/4's. Why would you remove the Saleens, the McLaren F1, the Lamborghini's and whatnot. It makes no sense to take out your best models. Lamborghini also isn't a licensing issue because they give it to everyone. That said, Nissan GT R34 didn't get in? The Mercedes SL65 AMG? Really? That sounds fishy.. I'm sure there's something odd, perhaps if they hit the mark of 50k it would have been the full list revealed and not half of it? I also expect there's going to be a lot of download content support then, I'll hold my anger and judgement till more news is heard. Edit: "The first vehicle close ups are now available at TDU2 Facebook. Feast your eyes on Part 1 ." - This was a comment on Facebook. If this is true, then I was right, it is just (at most) half of it, which makes a lot more sense.
  19. Basically whatever has the lowest miles in the garage that I travelled to, that way all my cars get a turn.
  20. I doubt the extra four days is going to help you keep up with the North American's Diablo ;)
  21. What cars have the SR moniker? This is the only thing I can think of: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_SR_engine There's also the RS moniker, but Audi doesn't have anything here that would fit..
  22. Glad to see updates here. I noticed that the Jaguar preorder mentioned performance upgrades as well, did we know that was back in yet? I'm curious as to why the non Supercharged variant would get put into the game...that makes no sense.
  23. I'm glad for the delay, but some updates or news would be abit nicer. I refuse to believe that they can't release some new photos or something. Whether it's not actual cars, car brands might be nice, or houses..something different. The problem with that is then people complain they didn't get to see what they wanted, but I'd think that even if they showed us one or two houses, one or two stores, it'd be nice to see...sure have some kind of car item around, but since the game is abount social interaction and connecting, show us something, i'm cool with that.
  24. A KM isn't very long, it's only about .6 of a mile, so whatever takes the half mile most likely will take this list. That said the Noble and Ariel should take first and second, but it'll be close since that Porsche could really make that catch. The other thing to remember is they are going for highest speed not quickest time. 1. Noble M600 2. Porsche 911 Turbo S (I'm assuming the new PDK one) 3. Ferrari 458 Italia 4. Nissan GTR 5. Audi R8 V10 6. Ariel Atom 245 7. Mercedes SLS 8. Lexus LFA The top three should be really close but I think the Noble will have it on the Porsche assuming proper launches across the board. The Porsche should place second, but just a hair before that Ferrari. That new Porsche is fast and it really gets going with a proper launch, I think it'll make the second highest speed. The GTR may be the second or third fastest in time, but it may not be for speed. The Audi will post a respectable time but won't be able to mix with the above echelon. The Ariel, Mercedes and Lexus will probably be the last three, they tend to lose out high up and I don't think the Mercedes or Lexus will be able to do anything impressive. The Ariel Atom's top speed shows around before the KM mark, so it's going to hit the limiter, it may still get one of the fastest times but not the high speed it needs. The above resides on the cars all getting a proper launch...
