  1. I just picked up a 2012 Audi Q5 to go beside the Acura.
  2. I understand the Bentley and Dodge for a few reasons - It couldn't be a new model because then they would complain about not having the stock one in the game. It was also for competition purposes - We got the Bentley because Platinum Motorsports won their odd competition and would have their car featured..it doesn't look that bad..With 1000hp (if it has the SS engine, it'd be fun to drive around). The Challenger is there because Rampage is part of the new king of the track tournament, so I guess his car was featured this time. Both are pretty much useless...seems like they didn't have enough cars ready. The HSV is the Only vehicle that interests me, and even then, it's an updated and lesser version of the current w427 we already have in the game...HSV makes the Maloo, Grange, Senator and GTS Touring, any of which would have been better to add in my opinion. That being said, I'm glad many people are happy since many of these were top of the wanted lists...but this is the third pack which makes me regret the season pass. Hopefully the next one will have more mainline decent street cars...I'm not much of a race car person.
  3. I'm definitely in the minority it seems, but I'll give it a fair chance. I'm pretty lenient, and as many bugs as there were in the game, I still enjoyed it. I'm a little disappointed in the lack of bikes and cars being brought on (Really...a Ferrari 599xx? That one is quite unnecessary, I would have preferred something we don't already have. Not to mention, that's three Ferrari's alone...it would have been nice to see the new Koenigsegg Agera in there or a large luxury sedan we haven't had yet...), that being said, I see me buying the other five cars and one of the bikes. All the other updates make it interesting, I won't lie, but it really comes down to how much they end up charging for it. If it ends up being decently priced, yeah, I'll pick it up, but if it ends up making the game worse or it's too expensive, I'll wait the other eight months before they fix that.
  4. The update seems to be good...the DLC i'm not really all for...but I haven't actually touched GT5 in a while so I don't even remember getting the first update, let alone this one.
  5. NFS1 - It started everything that this genre was about. If you hadn't played it, find it and use DOSBox to play it. Eight cars (Diablo VT, 512, 993, Viper, Corvette, NSX, RX7 and Supra) and only a hand full of tracks. First game to have cops as well, you just had to really mess up to be caught by them.) By today's standards, it's obviously subpar, but one of the fantastic things about this game is it also had interior view for cars and each vehicle had it's own details page where some guy would describe the car and it's perks. Simple but fantastic. NFSII - More cars, some concept cars, but pretty much just the extended version of The Road and Track Need for Speed (NFS1). NFSIII - It took Need for Speed 1 and extended the cops for it. This time law enforcement became a huge part of the series and really is what Need For Speed came to be symbolized as...it's the game that we (older fans) want remade... NFSIV - Now cars had upgrades, modifications and betting involved, you could win it all or lose it all. This game I had for PC and was fun as hell to mod. I voted this as the favourite as it encompassed all the good things from the previous three in one awesome package. The modding thing helped too. NFS Porsche - Regarded as the best game, started dynamic active aero parts for certain parts...with an Exclusive license, this is probably the game that should be remade. I never actually got a chance to play it. NFS HP2 - This game had two versions...The PS2 version and a Ported Xbox/Gamecube/PC version. The later version lacked in cars, graphics, tracks and difficulty. The Playstation version, however, was great. The soundtrack was good (I have all the songs still I think), the car list was good and it brought back all the things from Hot Pursuit 1. For me, it was the last of the greats. (Again, Only the PS2 version qualifies). NFS UG - I still believe that they should have kept one Need for Speed for Tuners and one for exotics. Whatever, this game had it's own moments. Introducing lesser cars. I believe it also had the Acura RSX, the last game to house street racing and the Honda Motor Corp. It was also the first (just edging out Motor City Online) to have an open world vehicle game. I personally wasn't a fan of it. NFS UG2 - Similar to Need for Speed 2, This game expanded on the previous version of it, this time including more customizations, tuning and even a few SUVs. Although the SUVs were useless, it was a nice touch. It was also cool tuning the car to see what it could do...I warmed up to it, but still wasn't a fan. NFS MW - Surprisingly decent, the only issue I had was that after the game was done, getting money to customize cars for free roam ended up being useless...My biggest issue was the lack of replayability or customizations in career once you beat everything...that kind of sucked. Good car list though. NFS Carbon - First Need for Speed game that I never touched. Enough said. NFS Prostreet - The physics were not great, I couldn't get into the game at all. Played and second NFS that I didn't buy. NFS Undercover - Okay okay, so the story was kind of lame, some of the challenges were annoying, some of the bugs really got in your face. The car list was fantastic though, I liked driving the cars that they gave, I would have played a ton more if it allowed for easy money after you beat everything...modifying the cars was fun, but it sucked that you couldn't keep playing once the career was done. NFS Shift - Didn't play. NFS World - Didn't Play NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 - Almost. Almost had this one. I didn't buy it, but I did play it, and there was a lot of it that was fun and I truly wanted to buy it. I couldn't though. The graphics: Fantastic, the sound: Great...but I couldn't get over the handling of the cars...it was very Burnout, obviously, and that bothered me...I do not like the new Handling style of the new games, and for that it just could not work for me so I never got it. Playing it here and there was great...and the car list was fun to...the issue this time is simply that to get all the cars, you had to spend an arm and a leg of real money just to get a complete collection. I may buy this game if there is an ultimate version with all the cars in box for 20 bucks... NFS S2U - Didn't bother. NFS The Run - I tried the demo...the story is alright, they tried. The only thing that I can say i like about this game, aside from the graphics...the tire sounds...that's really all. Oh well. Just have to wait another year or two and hope they get it right then, right?
  6. I liked the tire sounds, I thought those weren't bad.
  7. It's pretty much complete: Forza Motorsport 4 - Car Track List + DLC [WIP] (Updated September 28th)
  8. Confirmed: No Porsche Forza Motorsport - Forza Motorsport 4: Under the Hood Part 1 It's at the bottom.
  9. I went through the French since the Google Translator seemed off, except that when I read the French, the Google Translator did what it was supposed to. The French is also broken and doesn't link up correctly. That being said, has anyone gone to the Media channel in TDU and seen if the "String" content is there? It says it should be there with two bikes available for download already. Also, that String content in the Media...sounds weird but I'll check it when I get home. That being said, it does say at the bottom that it would be free. Je tiens à préciser que fin d'année c'est aussi bien Octobre que Décembre. Oui c'est très vague mais j'ai pas eu plus de précisions moi-même. Et oui ça sera gratuit! He believes that it will be end of year between October and December, yes it's vague but he wasn't told anything precise either. And yes, it will be free.
  10. On-Road: Honda/Acura NSX Off-Road: Porsche Cayenne Turbo
  11. Uhh, I'm thinking someone from here invited me into the club but since I was preoccupied in a different party with something important, I wasn't able to join, sorry about that whoever that was.
  12. 1000km on my ML63 AMG, but I have about 33 cars or so, the lowest one has about 200km on it, most are around 300-400 and a few are in the 500-700 bracket as well.
  13. If you go to the Ibiza Asphault driving school, there's an island in the center. Use a good drift car, that you can handle, and just drift the two turns both ways. Done properly, you can get over 200 on the first one then nail about 3/4 of the bar every time you do a drift. It's just a small oval, but you can usually get the car up to a decent level to do it. That being said, if you spin out or anything, you can usually get back to it without losing anything, so the risk of losing money is not high unless you get too close to the edges or something, was pretty efficient.
  14. BMW's issue isn't licensing...it's open world street racers...BMW and Honda/Acura do not want their cars in open world racers with cops, that's why you don't see them in Midnight Club either. Honda isn't in Hot Pursuit, Undercover or anything since Underground, yet shift has the NSX and S2000. This may explain why BMW showed up in Forza and Gran Turismo. Porsche showed up in Forza probably due to Microsoft being able to back the cash that EA wanted. Porsche wasn't in Polyphony Digital for more than just a money issue.
  15. Yeah, I get the same issues, but it only happens on TDU until recently I've noticed it on Blur but not Call of Duty yet. I have also noticed how my controllers and mics seem to have issues if I'm in a party, lots of static and whatnot, so if there is an issue with the controller, it seems to be more apparent in TDU
  16. When you unlock them as such, do they still go to the Used Car Lot or did you also force them into their dealerships...which, with the latter, I take it that would cause a spacing issue... Although it would be cool to see a random generator for some dealerships, after every few days a different set of cars shows up (or similar cars with different colour combinations, similar to the used car lot, except for that make).
  17. In three months they need to: Find the car, bring it in/set it up for design/development, design one half of it (duplicating it for the other side), designing the interior (only a portion can use the dupicate method as the exterior), the dash has to be reworked. It has to be implemented with the character, it has to be implemented in the existing game, the gauges need to work, it has to be set up to work with the physics engine. Once all of that is done (and I'm sure I'm missing something), it has to be tested thoroughly to make sure that it actually works well in the current game and does not cause any problems. Also, a true-to-life Ferrari F40, you would need a real F40 as pictures will not cut it. These models are from scratch, they aren't just ported from another game...can any modder here make a car from scratch? Sure, some better ones could do it faster, but remember you're only going to work for eight hours a day max as well, no career person is going to stay late unless they absolutely have too. From what it sounds like, you haven't touched modelling software yet..have you? I have, and as fun as it was, it is exhausting on your eyes and your mind to make sure things work as well as you want. You might be able to do it, and if you can, you could probably find a job and go with it if that's what you want to do. Edit: Found it, Q&A: Turn 10 on Forza 2's 11 new rides - News at GameSpot It's for Forza 2, but you can safely assume that it takes at least the same for the current games if not longer due to having to enhance graphics and car models otherwise they look old, they always need a refresh at least.
  18. Personally, it seems that the amount of bugs with the game have finally caught up to it. The novelty has warn off and unless the bugs are fixed, they're going to lose a lot more people.
  19. Suck it up. Don't pay for the content if you don't feel it's worth it. I can already tell you've got less than any valuable knowledge about how software content is uploaded to an existing item. It's probably good that you stopped here, since it would have shown how little you know about the process. Just because something is in the list, does not mean it has to be there at launch. It should be, but it doesn't need to be. If the concept of downloading vehicles wasn't so profitable or useful, then it would never have been used. Some people have the ability to buy or want to buy the download content, if you're not one of them, that's not our headache. You're the one complaining more about the game than I am, so I find it weird that you'd "coddle" someone, when you're the one who is more cranky about it all. I got your retarded reference, except for the fact that it is wrong. Your value of something is subjective to mine. Since your connotation is negative, that means you don't like the download content because you feel it's charging too much. Good for you, don't buy it. I haven't decided if I'm buying it, maybe if it's worth it and thus not a rape. I use a controller, I'm not really sure what you're on about here. I never said the handling was good either. In fact, in my review in another thread I mentioned this issue already and on top of that I already stated that we deserved a game that was bug free. I got used to the handling, it doesn't bother me as much, but yeah it needs some tweeks. This is considered an idea that was incorrectly implemented or it could be a bad idea. It's not a bug. The fact that there are less cars is not a surprised, and nor is it the first game to do this. I don't like how cars were taken out either, but there's nothing I can do about it now is there? Sure i can complain, but why do I need to, when many on here seem to be doing it enough for everyone. Hmm...somehow I don't remember saying that this game is better than another...wait that's right, I didn't. I merely said that if we deserved anything, it's a working game. So we agree on that part, from what it seems. I don't actually have a problem with your opinion, sure shout it out, it's a forum, it's the complaining that's annoying. We got it, there are issues, less cars, handling is mediocre, how about you add to it then? I haven't seen you do anything of the sort there. My issues with the game exist, I've never said this was a perfect game. Don't put words in my mouth by insinuating otherwise. If you're asking me what an idealistic life has to do with my post, you clearly missed my point and maybe you shouldn't worry about someone else understanding your metaphors then. P.S. Hey, if your mods are decent, maybe I'll grab them as well, given that they don't rape me at any time during the day, you know, since I really don't like that stuff. I'm not arguing that it wasn't a crap move by Atari. The thing is, we don't know why it was held back aside that they could have been incomplete by the game's launch. Just to play Devil's Advocate here, there isn't a guarantee that we will be charged for those two cars either. Last time we receieved the Nissan Skyline R34 GTR and Audi RS4 as free downloads, cars that people would probably have paid for, it's very possible that some of these may be free. The amount you noted is about 1.8 Canadian and US, which is what we're paying already per car I believe if you buy the download content...if there is a hike where you are, then it's due to taxes of some kind. At the same time, you're not understanding that it takes 2 or 3 months to develop one vehicle alone, on an average 60k salary, that's 10 to 15 thousand dollars right there. They will price it according to the optimized price point, how many people would buy at x amount...if it's too much for you, don't buy it. Unfortunately many people here are confusing what they want and software/business issues that get in the way. Sure 2 dollars would be enough for a car...but that's banking on more than 5000 people buying that one car and that is just to pay the salary of that one worker, that does not count for the other operational costs involved. I don't agree with the download concept idea because of how it is now being exploit, but for new cars that are coming out that were not out on the game's launch, it's a great idea, but like every great idea it got exploited negatively. Since this is all off-topic.. Ontopic: Has anyone found any more secrets in the game...
  20. Umm...No. No, no, no. No one deserves anything that was not mentioned. Nor does anyone deserve anything that was mentioned. We were given a game where you could roam free in high end cars, buy houses, be social and customize a fantasy lifestyle. That is what we got. There's nothing more to it. Just because a vehicle is on the disc, does not mean we all deserved to get it right away. We deserve to get a working game, yes, so we should not have to deal with corrupt saves, bugs and glitches...that we deserve, but we do not deserve extra content that was not mentioned in the official car list. The ACR, Hot Rod, F40, F50 nor the Agera are cars that we deserve, simply because we were never promised them. Sure Lamborghini fell through, but it was mentioned that it would be in the game, it was never explicitly promised, none of the cars are. Life isn't idealistic, some of the people here really need to stop believing that it is.
  21. I used the V8 Vantage, no handling issues.. For the record, my reflexes are garbage, I just have a better technique. Reflexes imply that you can counter the unexpected (fixing oversteer/understeer). That's not the case, in this game reflexes mean nothing. Learn the car you have and you won't have an issue anywhere. In this game, slow down before the turn, steer in gradually and accelerate the same way, then when you're straight, hit the gas...every car needs that regardless of where the power is put down. The thing is, if you break during the turn, it should cause the car to offset, because there is no weight over the rear wheels so it'll be easier for the card to slide. This game uses the center of gravity to an extreme to help the handling aspec, if you're braking up to the turn, then suddenly on the accelerator, the center of gravity has a huge shift, so it'll mess up the car's dynamics...that being said the game does exagerate it a bit much. Keep your shifts with the steering and accelerator/decelerator smooth and you'll be fast.
  22. McLaren MP4-12C, I didn't do any blocking or whatnot. There were two or three races over both A1 and A1 high where I just took second place because it didn't matter since I had won the rest of them. Trick 1: Launch properly, if you don't launch properly, you run the risk of, not only Stuart leaving you behind, but Tess and her CCXR taking second off the line, so it becomes a catch up race. A proper launch changed my time from being 2.2 seconds behind by checkpoint one to .8 seconds behind. Trick 2: Apex, if you aren't taking the corners optimally the Veyron will chew you up. Stuart takes them very slow but he makes up for it in speed (the Veyron's acceleration at 60 - 80 isn't that much better than my McLaren, out of the turn if I was already faster, I would pull away before he could start causing a difference, by the time he was catching up, I was always through the next turn) Trick 3: Take time to learn the pattern, Stuart's driving is affected by any slight corner or bend in the road, meaning he won't be going full speed, those are your chances, don't lose your mind if he's ahead, odds are if you drive carefully, take your turns perfectly, you'll notice that he always slows down too much and never actually takes the turn properly, although he does the motions for it. Trick 4: Aerial Apexing, there are a lot of jumps, take advantages of hitting them properly so that you can keep your speed and momentum, Stuart slows down for all of them. Don't try jumping to fly, but enough to land on the downward side of the road to give you that boost. Trick 5: You won't win on straights. Deal with it. Seriously, that was it...i spent maybe 2 or 3 tries on the very first race, annoyed, until I started noticing this stuff, do the full first race all the way through in second, then restart near the end, you'll start to see his pattern. As you're behind, Tess becomes more of a problem since her Koenigsegg CCX is ridiculously quick.
  23. My WRX Sti on the Xbox hits 270. Why would there be a difference on the PC, seems odd.
