  1. Making everyone else think your car is more special than it actually is... Very common here with regular Lancers and the 4dr Imprezas. There are also a couple of M5 look-alikes running around (the proper rims, dummy 3rd and 4th exhausts, proper rear bumper, hole in the wings behind the front wheels) but are actually 520i's underneath
  2. The ones with the whitewalls? I think that was Iced's. He entered it in one of the POTWs I think
  3. Hmmm the Captain's Brera rims are a good mod, but they're a bit too small for my liking... Could someone do the same colour for the 18" Brera "multi circular" rims? The second from last ones...
  4. Yea so am I... too much homework this weekend
  5. You could try... The rims in the Brabus folder don't work, but there's one in the Mercedes folder called BRAB_5 and works perfectly. Just get someone to make a black version of it and there you go
  6. Personally, I prefer Pressurized's 1st entry
  7. The solution is simple. Don't hit the wall.
  8. Maybe he's realised the error of his ways but is too shamed to admit it? :huh_blue:
  9. It depends on the car you're putting the rims on. That determines what size the wheels will look like in the game, not the file itself. Try putting the CLK-DTM rims on the Caterham. You'll notice that the rim shrinks itself to the size of the Caterham tyre.
  10. Well these are what the MX5_F_01 looks like on the IS350: http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p265/1carfreak1/Test%20Drive%20Unlimited/20080626222127.jpg http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p265/1carfreak1/Test%20Drive%20Unlimited/20080626222410.jpg http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p265/1carfreak1/Test%20Drive%20Unlimited/20080626222257.jpg
  11. Review time! This was completely by chance, since I came across one at my local shopping mall. Turns out they only brought this out cos the G25 they were using for promo was broken. Too many 7 year old kids wrecking it I suppose... Anyway, it works a lot better on GT5 than the G25. The weighting through a corner is more accurate, and the real life/in-game turning ratio is different. The best draw for me is that the paddleshifts actually work this time, although the paddles are more like buttons (Think SLR buttons rather than F430 paddles). The gearknob is practically useless for me cos 1) it's placed on the wrong side for all us Commonwealth drivers and 2) it's simply too far a reach. The buttons on the wheel are a thumbs-up. Now it's a breeze to press O for handbrake and do some spectacular drifts on the Alpine track in a Evo X! But the 900deg lock-to-lock thing is practically useless, since you can't turn more than 90deg in the game anyway . Finally, the pedals. Spacing is much better, since there's no need to make room for a clutch pedal, but it's quite a bit harder to modulate throttle inputs as compared to the G25. This led to some spectacular but frustrating spins in the Corvette ZO6. Conclusion: Better than the G25, but some may find it hard to justify the extra cost if they already have the former.
  12. Lol I thought you were going to do an actual comparison... Anyway, if I had a PS3, I'd definitely get GT5. A shopping mall near my place has a PS3 with GT5 and the new Logitech Driving Force GT wheel. So naturally I go there often to freeload :p . I'm completely hooked on it, and that's the only place I can go to get my fix, seeing that I don't have a PS3 and my friends who do aren't that interested in cars...
  13. Oh yay! :bananasplit: Was just about to request for that. This is awesome! And Speed, are those black Murcie rims ready yet? *EDIT* Oh darn, Filefront, as ever, doesn't want to work with me! :bananamad:
  14. Nice... I wonder if it would be possible to hook up the G25's H-gate shifter and 3-pedal arrangement to this thing...
  15. This is so dumb... From page 4 to page 7, all within 20hrs...
  16. i voted for you! <annoyed>
  17. For mine we had to go find our own job, and the school would only give you one if you couldn't get your own (really boring stuff though, that was the drawback) My work experience seems to be a one time thing only though... :( Would like to do it again, this time with some other people... :/
  18. I still think the FIA did the wrong thing not to penalise Kimi. Imagine if that happened in Monaco or Singapore (yay, but that's not the point). That piping hot exhaust pipe (forgive the pun) would have landed on some poor spectator's lap! Or what if it had come off just as he lapped a back marker? Then what would the FIA have done?
  19. Wow Speedtouch! I really envy you! How'd u know so much about fixing cars anyway? That's probably what's restricting me most about doing work experience at a car garage :( And how'd you approach them in the first place? In the name of the school? Or just "hi, my name is (whatever your real name is), and I'd like to work for you during the summer"?
  20. Personally, I think that bit when the wheel fell off was staged... Look closely and you'll see that it's actually at 2 different places (him attacking the stig and then the wheel falling off) Regarding what Nodz said, I'm afraid I have to agree. I mean, I don't think there's anything wrong with having a big challenge every episode (I really like them), but it's just that it's now so OTT that the scripting is getting pretty obvious. I think Season 8 was one of the best balances. The amphibious cars 1 was a big challenge but seemed a bit more natural...
  21. Those Arabs are mad! i reckon they could put Russ Swift to shame! :p
  22. Loved the police cars. The best bit for me was Richard turning up in his Vitara. Truly unexpected and hilarious! And then there was James' paint being foiled by the windscreen wipers, and Jeremy's wheel nearly killing the camera crew! I must say, JC did quite a (almost) good job attacking the Stig ala Goldeneye, and i was genuinely expecting the BMW's tyre to blow... And even being a non-UK 16 year old, I found the Star bit quite good. The Ferrari review was too long though... :(
  23. MadMax. I like the fact that he used a bike for a change
