1. Many will also be wondering how the heck you became an admin here (to be fair maybe they think the same for me) haha. At least one thing hasn't changed - Milli GIFs!
2. Perhaps slightly more useful... actually I think this would be very useful, from any page you can create a thread (Topic) then select where it should go: Most forums have an Activity stream that shows all new posts but here you can create your own and fully customise it: Very cool... (or nerdy, take your pick)
3. Discovered Lyrics, and a StopWatch...
4. The previous times this was discussed I never really said much because I don't browse the mod shop any more (although I still have my favourite mods on my home PC). For the past few years, we went in one direction and the forum activity hasn't been great. So my last post could be read as "I'm happy to try something different and see if activity improves". (Of course, there is more to improving activity than just that).
5. Perhaps it possible (and nearly ethical) to have multiple classes here: * Promoted mods (threads) from the authors who want the credit (and have working links) * A large, somewhat unrefined archive/collection of old TDU mod files from our collective HDDs with no credit, fancy images, or installation support. Not designed as a "pack" but more-or-less as a 'data dump'. tduck's approach wouldn't be to promote them but say "hey here's a bunch of old mod files we found, maybe they will work if you download a copy." We could also do our best to contact some of the old modders and let them know what we want to do. If they object then that's fine; if we hear nothing back then we'll proceed. If they come back later then we can follow their wishes. This is just an idea only. I've uploaded free stuff to the Internet before. And there was a time when I tried to ask some communities to remove their copy of the files (as I only wanted them in one place where I could release updates and remove old versions). I was happy that most people I wrote to, while disappointed, were happy to comply. But at the same time I knew that once you put something on the Internet, you're unlikely to be able to remove all traces of it.
6. This design looks a bit better than those other towers:
7. The game plans make sense, all of the sim goodness and sandbox from pC2 are still there, but being dressed up more with gamey presentation features similar to Shift/Forza Motorsport. The previous games were lacking there. The console news has spread to all sorts of tech websites but it still makes no sense. I get wanting to set a cat among the pigeons to cause a jump in performance, but specs alone do not sell consoles to gamers. It's about the whole experience, the available games, the platform/network that your friends are already on, the gamepad, etc. Those who want a high-spec gaming machine in their lounge room can already go out and get a PC for that purpose. I can't see them saving us that much money due to not selling enough units, and the general consensus in other news websites comments is the same - no one is expecting this to succeed. The specs might sound good now but in 3 years time when this thing releases I'm sure it'll be much more meh, and new consoles from MS/Sony will be close enough. Or maybe they feel the need to do this because mainstream consoles are looking to stream their games from the cloud by then instead of selling them. And streaming racing games with racing wheels doesn't work too weel.
8. Looks like 'Rushy' (Paul R) from I think Driveclub and 8 others of that team have joined SMS recently. Also it looks like they are also working on their own 'competitive' console with free game engine supporting 4K and Vr at 60 FPS Slightly Mad Studios Confirms New Project CARS Title is In Development I'm still trying to make sense of it all...
9. Haha I got a few birthday emails too from various forums.
10. That's the Diablo we know and love  Don't forget your long anniversary speech duties for early February ;)
11. My screen is 100hz which so far is plenty for me (but also 21:9)
12. Worth a watch, some nice close calls there
13. I found a used 1080ti on eBay, and eBay themselves took another 10% off, so I upgraded to that or almost double the gaming performance for my 3440x1440 screen. Last night I was playing FH4 on all of the Ultra/Extreme settings at ~85 FPS which was very nice.
14. I used to use an app like this designed for pCARS back when I was racing in an online league to compare lap times with everyone else while on a straight section of road to work out if I should push a bit harder or reduce the risk of spinning. If I was still racing I would be into this kind of thing on my old tablet.

16. Product Manager at a software development company

17. ^Fan-made image Over at GT Planet Ian (humble as always) :) has confirmed that something is in the works, but it will take a long time to come to light. Project Cars 3 Suggestions SMS also recently announced a Pro version of pCARS2 for other businesses to use: https://www.slightlymadstudios.com/pcarspro-porsche/ I'm guessing it includes much the same code as the original but with physics 'tick-rates' turned up so that the PC system requirements are extremely high.
18. I don't have much experience with home/studio mics but I was surprised at how well my new noise cancelling headphones replace the sound of my keyboard with silence, so the suggestion above pertaining to microphones with noise cancellation features may be worth looking into. I would also suggest searching YouTube for something like '2018 best gaming microphone'... (1) even if you are not gaming, the requirements will be similar - good voice quality, doesn't pick up unwanted noises (2) YouTube videos will give you some auditory comparison on how they sound
19. Nice wallpaper!
20. Yes I do a whole lot of everything but am time-poor as a result. I found some good Black Friday deals so I upgraded a bit more than originally planned. My current PC lasted 6.5 years and I expect this one to do the same. I'd rather do this than spend half as much on a PC but twice as often. Rich? Nah, I try live a simple life then occasionally feel like splurging occasionally. I'll be able to write some of it off as a tax deduction.
21. Looks nice - would be cool to see a driving video from inside if you can...
22. Destruction Derby update coming s**n:
23. Bought a few things over the Black Friday weekend: My first pair of active noise cancelling headphones - the Sony WX-1000 XM3 - these review on par or better than the latest Bose ones, and I must say they sound amazing and have some great extra features. I'm impressed that I can't hear myself typing this on the noisy mechanical keyboard that I have. 2x 10TB NAS HDDs as one of my NAS volumes has run out of space. Fortunately, with RAID 1 it can rebuild itself one disk at a time without me manually juggling files around. Also grabbed a bunch of new PC parts  And some flowers for my wife
24. Time to revive this thread. And time to build a new PC! The outgoing PC was built in 2012, with the GPU updated in 2015: Click to view outgoing specs New parts: Case: Fractal Design Define R6 with USB Type C 3.1 Gen 2 front I/O Mobo: Gigabyte Aorus Master Z390 CPU: Intel i9-9900K Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 280mm AIO liquid cooler RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3000MHz GPU: Gigabyte nVidia Titan X (old) M.2: Samsung 970 EVO 2TB NVME SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 1TB (old) HDD: 1x WD Black 2TB (old)* PSU: Same as old build * I've also purchased 2x 10TB HDDS to upgrade my NAS storage. I plan to move/remove a bunch of old stored files on the old HDDS and cease using them. All parts are in hand besides the new CPU and M.2 SSD which should be delivered early next week. I'll probably wait for the next series of GPU's before upgrading that. At the moment I'm doing ok driving the 1440p 21:9 screen with the current GPU.
