1. I found a used 1080ti on eBay, and eBay themselves took another 10% off, so I upgraded to that or almost double the gaming performance for my 3440x1440 screen. Last night I was playing FH4 on all of the Ultra/Extreme settings at ~85 FPS which was very nice.
2. I used to use an app like this designed for pCARS back when I was racing in an online league to compare lap times with everyone else while on a straight section of road to work out if I should push a bit harder or reduce the risk of spinning. If I was still racing I would be into this kind of thing on my old tablet.

5. ^Fan-made image Over at GT Planet Ian (humble as always) :) has confirmed that something is in the works, but it will take a long time to come to light. Project Cars 3 Suggestions SMS also recently announced a Pro version of pCARS2 for other businesses to use: https://www.slightlymadstudios.com/pcarspro-porsche/ I'm guessing it includes much the same code as the original but with physics 'tick-rates' turned up so that the PC system requirements are extremely high.
6. I don't have much experience with home/studio mics but I was surprised at how well my new noise cancelling headphones replace the sound of my keyboard with silence, so the suggestion above pertaining to microphones with noise cancellation features may be worth looking into. I would also suggest searching YouTube for something like '2018 best gaming microphone'... (1) even if you are not gaming, the requirements will be similar - good voice quality, doesn't pick up unwanted noises (2) YouTube videos will give you some auditory comparison on how they sound
7. Yes I do a whole lot of everything but am time-poor as a result. I found some good Black Friday deals so I upgraded a bit more than originally planned. My current PC lasted 6.5 years and I expect this one to do the same. I'd rather do this than spend half as much on a PC but twice as often. Rich? Nah, I try live a simple life then occasionally feel like splurging occasionally. I'll be able to write some of it off as a tax deduction.
8. Looks nice - would be cool to see a driving video from inside if you can...
9. Bought a few things over the Black Friday weekend: My first pair of active noise cancelling headphones - the Sony WX-1000 XM3 - these review on par or better than the latest Bose ones, and I must say they sound amazing and have some great extra features. I'm impressed that I can't hear myself typing this on the noisy mechanical keyboard that I have. 2x 10TB NAS HDDs as one of my NAS volumes has run out of space. Fortunately, with RAID 1 it can rebuild itself one disk at a time without me manually juggling files around. Also grabbed a bunch of new PC parts  And some flowers for my wife
10. Time to revive this thread. And time to build a new PC! The outgoing PC was built in 2012, with the GPU updated in 2015: Click to view outgoing specs New parts: Case: Fractal Design Define R6 with USB Type C 3.1 Gen 2 front I/O Mobo: Gigabyte Aorus Master Z390 CPU: Intel i9-9900K Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 280mm AIO liquid cooler RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3000MHz GPU: Gigabyte nVidia Titan X (old) M.2: Samsung 970 EVO 2TB NVME SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 1TB (old) HDD: 1x WD Black 2TB (old)* PSU: Same as old build * I've also purchased 2x 10TB HDDS to upgrade my NAS storage. I plan to move/remove a bunch of old stored files on the old HDDS and cease using them. All parts are in hand besides the new CPU and M.2 SSD which should be delivered early next week. I'll probably wait for the next series of GPU's before upgrading that. At the moment I'm doing ok driving the 1440p 21:9 screen with the current GPU.
11. Nice work so far. I like the detailed city streets, and the wind effect on the trees. My main concern is that the island seems more desert-y, and particularly seems to lack any mountainous areas of elevation of any kind, which makes driving more fun imo.
12. From my behind the scenes access to development discussion of Project CARS and its sequel, one observation is that many separate leaderboards were required for each track multiplied by each vehicle, which could quickly exceed the limits put in place by PSN/XBL/Steam. I only mention this because the OP above refers to a single leaderboard per game (perhaps unintentionally).
13. Google refuted a lot of that except for vehicle speed, which I guess makes sense for 'dead reckoning' - i.e. the ability to predict your location without a GPS signal such as when driving through a long tunnel. Otherwise Google Maps would behave just like on a smartphone in a tunnel and not show your location without a signal.
14. Feels fine to me. Some of us are probably missing the Chatbox we used to have on the forum index page. Another nice to have feature would be some way for users to show what game they are playing right now, be that a manual text field that is displayed prominently, or even better -integration with PSN/XBL/Steam/Discord. If we know others are playing, perhaps we'll join them, take screenshots/videos, share them back here and create some more activity on the forums.
15. I find myself watching more TC2 videos (made up races/challenges from ericship and starky) than actually playing atm. The big killer is just not having a bunch of mates to go cruising with.
16. Amazon Game studios and the developers behind the remastered version of Burnout Paradise have lifted the lid on an episodic PS4/Xbox One driving game that follows the adventures of Season 3 of the show. Featuring hours of dialog from the 3 stars, and 4-player split screen, the game is a significant departure from previous mobile-based offerings created during Top Gear fame. Read more at The Grand Tour is getting a video game featuring Clarkson, Hammond and May What do you think? Sound off below
17. I like the idea and am interested to see how it develops (technically). Do we have enough people willing to post high(ish) quality articles? It seems hard enough to keep threads active.
