forza motorsport 5 Forza 5: Bathurst Confirmed!
Ryzza5 replied to T1M's topic in Driving & Racing Games
Funny that - it was only the fantasy tracks that made me buy an Xbox with FM3, and later FM4. -
Car bras do more damage than good (scratches the paint). I don't like the rear of my car getting dirty quicker than the other sides because it looks awful. The mudflaps don't even stand out to me.

forza motorsport 5 Forza 5: Bathurst Confirmed!

Compared to all the other races here in V8SC this is a sort-of mini-Nordschleife (that's how international racing drivers describe it). V8SC ddo 161 laps here (1000km endurance race). It's quite a tricky place to get consistent clean (and fast) laps in when using a proper simulator without assists, especially in a 600hp V8 sedan with relatively simplistic handling abilities. As for the best track in Australia, most racers say it is Phillip Island GP (where I was two days ago). I don't view this announcement as special either, since they *appear* to be just following everyone else who's recently added it or announced/leaked plans to (R3E, GT6, pCARS, iRacing, etc). I'm guessing an independant company scanned the track for CAD data and then said 'Who wants it (for a fee)'? -
How did I know there would be more comments on the mudflaps instead of the shiny exhaust tips From a distance they're not bad but if you look closer you can see the ugly clamps that don't appear to be specifically placed to my car

The instructors aren't from VW btw - they do this for a living with all sorts of manufacturers. My one had just come from a similar event but with Lamborghinis. They're not afriad of going fast, they just want you to drive as good as possible and of course are interested in self-preservation. ;)

I'm still undecided as to whether or not my latest car part suits or not... what do you think

I can assure you they were squealing most of the way around (and we were told before by the VW guy in charge that he didn't want to hear tyres squealing around the track). The g-force meter gives a small clue that we were hanging on going around some of those turns (FWD car and the tyres aren't that wide - plus the car has been thrashed around this track all week, plus in two previous events for Brisbane and Sydney, so the tyres and brakes didn't feel that great. Lap 1 was just a sighting lap so didn't push too hard on that one. We were also told not to floor it leaving the pits. Safety first, etc. I checked the video file properties and apparently it is only 12 frames per second (5 times slower than 60FPS), which also makes it appear slower when you watch it. If you don't believe me, try playing a racing game at <15 FPS and then switch back to 60+ FPS somehow Have a look at the videos again Ozz - that car is clearly white. Surely you know what colour my Golf is  Thanks for the comments everyone.

One has to wonder who is actually paying for the servers at the moment (unless they were prepaid in advance)

xbox one Xbox One Launches globally (13 parts of it) Nov 22nd 2013
Ryzza5 replied to Eudemon's topic in Gaming Discussion
By the time I get one Microsoft probably will have changed so much stuff I won't remember the current picture of how things are, and then the slim version will come out 2 weeks later -
Being able to spin out (easily)... probably points to good physics. It's a little hard to tell if the game is set up to drift too easily like NFS or Ridge Racer since it's the SLS The other interesting snippet there was a mention of another games show at Earls Court later this month - maybe we'll see a certain Mercedes DTM car there with a PC in the bonnet (if you were in the chatbox earlier this will make sense... or perhaps it'll be at IFA instead).

Hmmm, I don't get quite get why you'd do it though. With the new consoles where there's a chance of limited supply, then sure. But for games you could preorder a year, a month, or a day before release and in most cases still get the title at the same time either way, and in these days of preorder bonuses there could always be a better offer coming later. btw guys the Ubi forums for the Crew are now split up into subforums so that threads are harder to find :)

I must be getting tired; I'm sure I already saw this here today (or did I see it on the Ubi forums and forget to copy it here) Not interested in the Ford Shelby, I'll pass and wait for something better Also it's way too early to preorder imo, although perhaps that means the release day isn't as far away as we though (I'm guessing February)

New visualizer Volkswagen R GmbH / Die Leidenschaft des Motorsports - weiterentwickelt Looks great in white, but then it'll be less distinguished from the white GTI's :hmmm:

Goodwood is already in GT6, so I'm not sure what you're hoping will happen there cal ;) Someone could do a rough representation of the best roads from TDU1 as well (might have to make it a P2P route though which would still be ok). Assuming you can model the ground terrain as needed. Surrounding ocean might be lacking as well.

Problem is in Australia the prices are different, which is why the Golf R is a good prospect down here. Mk7 pricing is unknown here but rumored to be cheaper than the Mk6. The Performance Edition GTI is also said to be coming next year whereas the normal GTI arrives in a few weeks. The old S3 and RS3, while capable, was noted to be a bit boring, whereas the BMW is more fun but has less gadgets to play with. The A45 is the fastest, has good tech, and fun to drive but costs a fortune. So we come back to VW. Sure it doesn't look like a boy-racer Renault but honestly I wouldn't want something that did. Mk6 GTI: $42,000 Mk6 Golf R: $48,000 2014 Audi S3: $59,900 M135i: $68,000 (+tick a few boxes and this will jump up very quickly) AMG A45:: $74,900

Will have to go looking for video of that press event At 9mins he says the new course maker will have areas that are 100x100 km. Think about that for a second. That's MASSIVE.

Guess that was a failed TopGear reference of a reference that I never got  Dan likes to talk a lot but doesn't have a lot to talk about. Maybe he should spend all day telling us about the physics; that bit was actually somewhat interesting.- 16 replies
