  1. [off topic] I was speaking to a new receptionist we have (casual while the main one if on holiday) and she's from Northern Ireland. But she's also lived in Scotland for a while, so her accent is all over the place :p [/off topic]
  2. Looked like around 90kph for the first bit (not very smart cutting corners into the next lane with no visibility), then reaching about 130kph at the end. (also not a great idea with your squeaky brakes). Signs on the side of the road weren't exactly whizzing past.
  3. Yep, can't imagine an old mafia boss climbing into the back of a two-door coupe.
  4. Well you've got 3 years to start learning for the next PC. You'll save a ton of cash doing it yourself. You can even pay the shop a small fee for them to build it for you if you're that worried. Not being able to open your PC case is like not being able to open your car bonnet. What happens if you want to get rid of all the dust? Install a new HDD? TV tuner card?
  5. *cough* local *cough* retail *cough*
  6. If there's a lobby host they could just kick the rammers out anyway, no? Plus you'd all have to make it to the nearest garage to change cars, and they'd inevitably be in a Veyron which would be hard to catch.
  7. Why not, is the case sealed? Why didn't you just build the PC yourself?
  8. What about the step "Spend hours looking for basic drivers and programs that are already included in Windows" for the Linux build? Also where I am I've never seen a Linux PC for sale - don't even think the Chromebook is for sale locally in retail shops.
  9. The only thing I know about AMD is they release cards before nVidia, but generally aren't as good as nVidia, and they're in financial trouble. Doesn't really help you though. You'll either have to upgrade (remember this is essentially a 2013/14 game) or wait for the final version with optimisations.
  10. Yes, back in STS I had the first split where the first set had 1-6, then 7-12, now in ETS2 I'm doing it the other way (first set odd gears, second even) since a lot of the time I can skip gears. From about 7-12 I'll flick the switch to change incrementally on hills, etc. How are you guys going with controlling your camera view (head movement)? TrackIR becomes essential in a game like this. Anyway I'm up to Level 10 now.
  11. It's very early WIP, it'll be scaled back as it gets added for every track and once they get the drying line programmed in. Overdoing it makes it easier to find bugs, etc.
  12. How to jack up your slammed car:
  13. For this event all the co-drivers are international and they're all starting for the first part of the race, they all find these cars hard to drive and start: Always results in big crashes at the start. Yesterday there were 2 red flags and it took them 3 goes to start the race, with 6 cars eliminated before Turn 1. And you thought the BTCC was bad
  14. Getting to the point where I reckon I've seen too much in videos which might wreck the initial experience. Not going to watch any more now since I'll have the game in 2 days.
  15. Yes they're one and the same, you just purchase the product key. Earned 107,000E now (would have more if I didn't keep getting speeding tickets :p) so I can afford a truck but I'll keep saving to ~145,000E to buy a more powerful one. Not sure how true to life some of those roads are bit if they are accurate then your roads are weird. :cheeky:
  16. Was tempted to start in Bern, Switzerland but went for London instead. Most of my deliveries have been around France and Germany so far anyway. Still saving, nearly got 70,000E now so should be able to buy a truck in a few more hours. Has anyone had any luck adding extra Internet Radio stations into the game? I've edited the file with URLs that work in VLC but the game doesn't load them (shows them in the list though).
  17. What would you do with the other 4 copies? :oook:
  18. Take it no-one has leaked anything else ;)
  19. Oh cool, I don't really like loans in general (have never had one) which is why I was just saving up for my first truck  Yes I assumed all the speed signs would change (had already found the option), but when I saw a 30 speed sign in town I figured surely that must be 30mph = 50kph. Have never seen a 30kph speed sign in Australia. 40 is the lowest in school zones, default residential speed limit is 50, then we've got 60, 70, 80, 90, 110. 70, 90, and 110 being less common though. Just a shame I'm stuck with a LHD truck atm
  20. I'm more interested if sheep's bowel movement affect earthquakes?
  21. How've you done that in only a few hours Baldy? Does your sat nav tell you where all the speed cameras are? :p In a couple of hours I've only done 4 hired jobs and have about $12,000 - need ~$96,000 to buy my first truck to get the business going
  22. Been playing for a couple of hours and it's very good. I'm currently lost, trying to work out if the seed signs are kph or mph, trying to remember what side of the road I'm meant to be on, listening to a French 80's radio station (game has a list of European Internet stations built in, or you can add your own URLs or MP3 files TDU1 style). I've only rolled my truck over once so far :D (also just got a speeding offence in Dover and then a wrong way offence (thought it was a dual-lane road). Well worth the $40 so far, might have to put off playing Forza :p
  23. Dunno what's happened to CLR-GTR? :p Game is out now. Have just purchased a copy and downloading - will hopefully try out tonight.
