  1. What am I looking at? :oook:
  2. woah - massive camber there. I like the 2nd + 5th one
  3. See the other videos here: VVV Automotive Tries Project CARS WMD Portal
  4. Kart Space? Hasn't seen that before
  5. That's pretty slow. If I had a super-fast car I'd expect to get to OMG within 0.8 seconds of accelerating. :cheeky:
  6. Click on Auto Detect, wait a bit, then click on Test (should hear the sound), then click on Done.
  7. I don't plan on letting that stop me. Emulated, my dear Watson :oook:
  8. Looks great, but haven't I seen that here somewhere already? :mhmm:
  9. Well now's a great time to go find them while we're doing this Retro Gaming thing together (search for the relevant thread here)
  10. Yeah they hyped it up a bit too much, although I hear the peninsula was hit hard. I left work early to avoid the terrible traffic they predicted since they expected it to hit mid afternoon. Instead I drove in sunny skies (although very windy) and the storm didn't end up hitting us until 7pm (not great for those who listened to the radio where they recommended staying back in the city for a few hours after work).
  11. lol yeah, the worst NFS in history - we all :fp:'ed when the reviewers generously scored it a 5/10 :) I think one company awarded it a 3/10.
  12. Yeah, I was going to grab some lunch, then changed my mind and went elsewhere which took me past that. I don't usually take pics of cars in public but since that was in an alley and I saw it from a distance I whipped out the phone and took a pic. I probably wouldn't have taken the shot if it wasn't for the matching number plate (text + colour). [+] Now that I'm home I can watch your video properly - great stuff again there David. Looking forward to more installments. If You find someone with a cool VW I'll share it with the guys on the VW forum that I visit. ;)
  13. Yeah I was thinking about how I might install it (hopefully I can run setup from inside DOS-BOX). If I get it working I'll let you know how, but probably won't try it until tomorrow. Otherwise you could try installing it in a Virtual PC if you have one (or perhaps you even have an old PC or laptop lying around that's 32-bit). [+] I've installed the game ok in DOS-BOX but the emulator seems to crash when I launch the game which is weird (since others have got it working, plus I've had success playing other DOS games such as Toonstruck in the emulator). I'll see if I've still got a Win95 Virtual PC floating around on one of my HDDs otherwise will look at the PSX version.
  14. Seconds before yesterday's storm hit us, lots of thunder + lightning and some hail:
  15. You forgot the insane mod, or do you fall into one of those other categories?
  16. Maybe but unlikely. I played all the old NFS games with a keyboard back in the day so that's how I plan on doing it again. For controllers you would have better chances using the PSX emulator rather than the DOS one (since DOS didn't really support controllers... it was hard enough just to get sound and VGA working in some games) ;)
  17. It's a shame the people who make the game aren't as good as the people who make the hype for the game :p If I'm honest some of the visuals looked good, sounds are always good, but I'm not getting this because I know gameplay will be ultimately flawed.
  18. Quick question: Would you prefer to order the games according to series (i.e all the NFS games, then Test Drive, etc), or would you prefer to go in order of year (roughly)? I've got a feeling the first TD came out before the first NFS btw, but just in case you want to keep the graphics improvements progressive rather than jumping all over the place.
  19. Nice screenies there Millena - yeah the older games were harder (that said I wasn't sure if they were actually harder or it was due to me being a lot younger and less skilled back then) :p You may use the DOS or PSX version (either way you probably need an emulator) ;) I'm still in the acquisition stage but should be able to start playing Friday evening hopefully.
  20. Nice one
  21. Looks like Lambo may make a TDU2 appearance after all. Good to see mate. :)
  22. Possibly depends on whether or not it's the SE version. AFAIK, the first version was DOS only, and then the SE version came out to work with Windows 95, and it also had 2 extra tracks, rewritten rally code, DirectX 2, and networking support. I don't know which version the PS1 copy compares to. IIRC the game had police chases too. :)
  23. Created the first thread here: http://forum.tdu-central.com/threads/26876-Retro-Gaming-1-The-Need-for-Speed-(Road-amp-Track)?p=439522#post439522 Let's get this retro party started :bparty:
  24. This will probably be one of the hardest games to find (search for 'The Need for Speed 1 SE full DOS'), but there is a free playable demo available here: Download The Need For Speed | DOS Games Archive To get this game working, you will probably need to install DOS-BOX, an emulator for DOS (which for all you n00bs, is the operating system we used before Windows came out). How to get the game working: Running The Need for Speed SE [NFS1] on Vista and XP - NFSCars Forums So, as part of the TDUCk retro gaming concept, we'll pretend that this game has just been released and share screenshots, videos, discussions, etc, etc.
