One of the people mentioned worked for 10tacle, it seems. Cool - 10tacle and Simbin did the GTR series, GT Legends, and (I think, but don't count on it) the Race 07 and expansions stuff. The plot thickens... :evil: -Leadfoot

The whole thing about names is complicated. The whole "Test Drive: NeXT" and stuff is derived from all the "Next-Gen" stuff. So if Test Drive took a freebie title involving "Next", it would take that quick and simple option away from the other "Next-Gen" games. Also, TDU2 wouldn't work because new fans wouldn't understand it - we all would, because we quickly say "Test Drive Unlimited" or "TDU" rather than thinking about what we're saying, and how "Test Drive Unlimited 2" wouldn't imply that TDU wasn't unlimited enough. Also, I'm with Diablo on the whole hiding-the-names thing. A few years ago on one of the Atari official forums, someone was comparing NFS and TDU, and one of the members made a kind response explaining the differences, referencing how "TDU isn't NFS: The Island," and another made-up name. It was assumed that everyone knew he'd just made it up. However, browsing the NFS forums a few weeks later, I came across a thread about someone asking about the next NFS game; this, of course, happens with any series (as we know :) ). However, the title he gave was "NFS: The Island". I have no idea whether he was a member at the Atari forum, or found it in a search, but it goes to show how knowledge, even though it may seem to be only what it is (in this case, a made-up example), could be taken the wrong way. That was back before NFS: Carbon, so as we know, there hasn't been and almost certainly won't be any NFS: The Island. :cheeky: Just my ideas about names. :) -Leadfoot

Yeah, I play TDU at around 80 FPS normally, but filming at half-screen at 1920 x 1080 brings it down to 30 in the country, 15 or so in the city. :( -Leadfoot

It would probably be possible to edit the spoiler text texture for the GT version, and the window decals (window decals have been done on some RT12 mod somewhere, and I checked - the window glass textures within the .bnk have just been edited). -Leadfoot

Yeah, there is an assist (you access it through the options menu, or by pressing the right or left number pad keys), but you can also buy a better car. The Sky and the Mustang aren't the best handling cars. ;) -Leadfoot

I find that adding weight to cars makes it more realistic. It slows down (slightly) the 120-feels-like-60 effect. In regards to the physics section, should there be separate sections for offline and online mods? Depending on how much TDUPE's performance pack feature is used, people could create realistic mods for specific cars that are online safe and others just for offline. Though, given the lack of performance packs (and none for online), I guess this would be a waste of time. -Leadfoot

I noticed some of the files for the Bugatti say "Default_Bike" and this one is "Default." Does that mean these are the only two slots available - the default bike and the default car? Or are there unlimited new slots? -Leadfoot

The engine damage mod is an external program that you run alongside TDU. Search the Mod Shop for it - it was posted somewhere... -Leadfoot

Learn to mod and swap Crysis textures for everything. :cheeky: Ultra-high-res textures can make it look better. :) Seriously, though, with your ridiculous (-ly awesome) PC, TDU won't put a strain on your PC at all. One of those three-monitor setups might be good, but that's kind of expensive. Come to think of it, though, with the cost of your PC... :cheeky: -Leadfoot

In terms of names, there's a lot of marketing reasons as well. TDU2 seems fine to use, because we've been saying "TDU" and "Test Drive Unlimited" for three years. However, someone unfamiliar with either game might respond "Huh? Test Drive Unlimited 2? Guess the first one wasn't unlimited enough." Personally, I always found it annoying when I was searching for TDU2 and always find some idiot's second picture of TDU. Which usually isn't that good. :cheeky: -Leadfoot
