  1. I've been playing NFS Most Wanted at my girlfriend's place on PS2, there was a guy on the blacklist with a Gallardo and a remarkably similar black patch of vinyl to the 710/2... Anyway, this is epic work as can be expected of Mr. Tool! Never knew I wanted an Edo Lamborghini until I saw this, cheers! :btup
  2. The saloon is actually a pretty striking piece of design. It's still far too fussy with its details like just about every post-Bangle car design, but what can you do? I looks much less post-modern than the new 5-series which has descended into bland-ness. The hatch looks like a toy Fiesta they made in China without consulting the car in the metal...
  3. I don't mean ship it from other planets. I said that to illustrate this point: despite what we are told, it is a natural mineral made by the immense activity and chemical reactions in the earth's mantle, and not purely from fossilsed dead things which will expire. The fact that it could be on other planets merely says that it's a universal process of any planet with a molten hot core. So basically, because nobody really knows for sure how petrol and oil are made, the oil companies who say 'we have 50 years' worth down there' could quite possibly be lying to us to drive their prices up and have loads more than they say because it isn't made from ancient organic matter and actually from carbon deposits dating back from the formation of the earth itself. The evidence of biology in oil could just be down to the thermophiliac (heat-seeking) bacteria that live near the bottom of the earth's crust. You should never rule this stuff out, especially when we don't know enough.
  4. I am more than familiar with the late great Mr. Bill Hicks. You think I don't do my research when I want to form an opinion? :)
  5. Cheers blokes! :D I went to work, finished my duties as a till drone, had a massive Chinese restaurant meal with the family, then retired to STALKER SoC with my own fettled Supermod v. 2.3 for the evening, black metal playing on Foobar. Yes! If any of you are in Nottingham on Tuesday evening I'd buy you a beer!
  6. It's just a widely accepted theory that it's a fossil fuel. It isn't proven for certain, and a very clever bloke worked out that it could be made on other planets without any dead things... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abiogenic_petroleum_origin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Deep_Hot_Biosphere#Origins_of_petroleum Global man-made climate warming swindle? What a way to artificially inflate the price of everything...
  7. I don't like it as much as the Toyota GT-One or those Calsonic Nissans from the end of the 1980s. The GT-One road car will always be a dream car for me...
  8. The only thing is I don't want a 125 if I can help it. The more I think about it the more I want a sports or superbike...
  9. I'm going to stick my neck out and say Best Motoring trumps Top Gear in my opinion. Of course, Top Gear when it's at its best is like noting else, and I love it, it's all the more awesome for it... but the Japanese show is more like a car show for car people and not three television personalities cocking around. They have more races in the vein of Diablo's clip of old TG, but Best Motoring is it's own thing and better than a dying Top Gear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJxP1_hnBkg
  10. F1 is also about engineering (once again, at last) and kudos to Ross Brawn for designing the superior machine. If F1 were more about this, like in the '70s and '80s, I'd watch it. Same with NASCAR, the cars are all the same and none of them are relevant to the production cars.
  11. http://www.sniffpetrol.com/issue020.html KIA MAGENTIS HAS NO COMPETITION 'The Kia Magentis is a saloon executive car sitting alongside plenty of other competitive models all clamouring for your attention', according to some writing on the company's website. 'But a closer look shows there's actually no competition,' the site continues. 'Because the Magentis gives you all the space, comfort and luxury you would expect from a car at this level - at a fraction of the price. In fact the depreciation on many of the others could buy you a Magentis. With Magentis you also get elegant European styling, an ultra-smooth drive thanks to the powerful 2.5 V6 engine plus sporty H-matic automatic transmission. So unless you're in the habit of throwing money at expensively advertised badges, the expression 'no-brainer' springs to mind...'
  12. I don't see why you'd want a BMW 3-series if you could have one of these. It wouldn't sell well here because people want to pay too much money for something with a BMW badge on it. Perhaps with Saab gone Nissan will capitalise on the lack of left-field choices
  13. I'll let Richard Porter tell you how good mopeds are... http://www.sniffpetrol.com/issue039.html I want a 4-stroke, if I can. I'm going to be moving to London and will need to go home now and again. When I've done my CBT (if I like it) I want to do the 125cc test then just get something restricted for the time being. I only have £2000 to spend on getting a licence and everything else, though I've got a provisional in my car driver's licence
  14. Well, I want the transport and I want to move at a reasonable pace for not much money. I think it's the way forward for me. Any bikes you can reccomend as a stop gap until I am old enough to afford to insure a car in my own name? Also, are there any bikes that can't use power restrictors?
  15. That's beautiful: diffuser, wing, and central exhaust AND boxy wheelarch flares... There is nothing I don't like except the fact that they don't mass produce it. Or, if they do, it probably won't be with that 3.4 V8 which probably sounds fantastic because it is a small V8 engine and revs really high. Boo and hiss.
  16. I did my pass plus on a motorway, with a trained driving instructor, and even he said it's stupid to try to do 70mph on the motorway. It is. Everyone is going faster and if you see someone sitting in the middle lane doing a little bit less than 70 you have to do 80 or so just to get by him!
  17. This year, I passed my driving test and I did my pass plus. Unfortunately I don't have the money to buy a car and I am moving to Roehampton to do University in London, so a car is sort of redundant and money much more useful. Enjoyed being at Bloodstock Open Air last year. I shall return this year. Maybe I'll turn more into a goth this time next year from living away from home too. I like the idea for some reason. Do not want a haircut. I hope a beard grows on me too, I'm nearly 19, damnit! I definitely need to read more, get my thoughts together more coherently. I really want to sleep around too, I've been meaning to do that but I tend to fall into relationships and can't. I'll try and earn more money before I dissapear in September too.
  18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ebt0g8kxPV0 So beautiful...
  19. If the Russians weren't Communist then they wouldn't need any AK-47s and none of this would have happened. Damned Commies. I HATE THEM I HATE THEM I HATE THEM!!! /sarcastic rage Yeah, er... Well... It's a sad fact but you can be killed by anything, anywhere at any time of your life. Chance is ridiculous and doesn't rule it out. Stories like this make me proud to be a smoker because it's silly to pretend you'll never die and spend months of your life in a gym and eating horrible food all your life with the idea of being healthy and living longer. Your life may be longer by a few years, but you'll only spend them in a hospice sitting in your own faeces waiting for your own moment. Non-smokers die every day. A longer life isn't and can't be scientifically proven to be a good thing. A full and happy life is what matters and if I get that with a combination of atheism, plenty of sex, developing my own morals, forming my own political convictions, profound laziness and a pack of John Player's (just because Lotus are back in F1 again), where's the harm in that? You need to decide what's important in your life. Nobody will live it for you and, as you've just read, it can be ended at any moment by any series of events which are possible at that present time, however improbable. Hunter S. Thompson always liked the power coming to terms with his mortality lent him, and I can say through doing it there's a contentment with acknowledging your own ability to kill yourself, whether through disregard for healthy living or with a weapon. Just as long as you don't do it too soon. Which he did. But nevermind. I'm here for a long time yet, please do not be alarmed by this bleaker point of view!
  20. Air suspension eh? I thought they were only for raising and lowering bad handling Pimp My Ride-style lowriders
  21. I like that, good sounds that fit the Lambo V12 quite nicely. It sounds stressed, like the real thing and Atari's version, but not quite as stressed as the Murcielago, befitting the tuning the LP 640 has over it. +epr
  22. They didn't have had some 'nads. I've seen bicycle tyres that look grippier...
