1. I saw a brand new face-lift SL on dealer plates (not registered yet) today leaving Dundee. The Driver was NOT waiting up! (Rapid seem's a understatement to say, and was 'only' a 400!) Also, finally saw a Smart CrossBlade :D Yes, i really need a new phone, as this one is pants for photos with any sunlight.
2. When it was first announced, I was a bit Meh. But seeing that, looks like we could be back to the good ol days of GT! Looks like road cars can be made into fully fledged race cars (al-la GT2), as well as just giving them basic mods (wheels, aero, etc), here's hoping the mod's & tuning are like GT4's. The Photomode looks to have a ton of locations like GT4 did. Just hoping the physics are good, as much more believable than Forza's can be! Also, finally a livery maker and looks alright. And the list of cars I spotted is good! 4C's, F-Types, Impreza (Sorry WRX STi as its now called) as well as an RC-F. Now don't go and disappoint me and leave out the Cappuccino PD!
3. Works for me, but I'll be honest and say that we have entered the "Show season" here in the UK, meaning I'll likely miss more races as going to local cars shows and such like. That and the odd drink induced reason as well...
4. Nothing a bit of terminal ferrous oxide doesn't solve, and oh boy do UK imprezas love that stuff! ;) (And don't be all "JDM Imports don't suffer it", they do...oh boy yes they do!)
5. @Ryzza: Some cars go for silly low prices, such as top end barges from the 90's (LS400's,S-Class's, XJ's, etc) are often found at the £1000 - £1500 price range in the UK., in roadworthy condition, with an MOT. Keeping in mind some of them would have cost in the area of £80 - 90,000 when new! (Taking inflation, etc into account) Why? Well fuel cost and price of some parts. Likewise, boggo everyday cars will hold there price well for whatever reason. I've not really seen any Bini's in the £1000 price range for example. - Scott win's it for me, got a soft spot for that style Galant and doesn't seem to need much work from what I can tell (Sadly can't do an MOT history check due to hidden Number plate). Often considered IS200's and the late models have aged well, and generally well looked after. As for the ML? Well it's a Merc so it's a German I can live with. TDUFREAK was very tempting though I'll admit!
6. If the first choice never had to have AWD, I could just post up my Civic, LS & Cappuccino & still have change for a holiday stateside for 2 weeks. I spend enough time in this category of cars, so this is right up my street. Which means it's going to be bloody hard for me to pick which car's I want.... (And also not want to buy said cars myself) Anyways... For The wife...Fiat Panda 4x4 It get's her to A-B in somewhat comfort, Perfect to do the basic things like getting to work, nip to the shops, pick up the kids, meeting Sandra for a gossip, etc. Reliable enough so Dave won't have to worry about too many weekends doing work to it. And unlike alot of "4x4s", these things can hold there ground when off road. Price: £2850 for this honest & cared for example. For Dave...Jaguar XJR Dave could have been dull and gotten a run of the mill modern saloon on finance like the other guys at the office. But Dave's not a run of the mill person, and likes to be different. Dave decided to get something with class, style and a V8. The XJR is just that, it's 4.0 Supercharged V8 pumps out 380Hp and gives all the comofrt of a traditional English manner house. This nice, honest example set him back just £3750 (He told the wife it was cheaper, and that it's a lesser model...but she knows him better than that) And the wild card? With only £965 to spend... Toyota MR2 (SW20)... Dave hunkered after one of these in his Youth, but sadly could't afford one back then. But 20-odd years later he now can, and with the Kitchen & bathroom having been finally re-decorated he decided to treat himself, despete what the other half said. (She's warmed to it though) Another honest car, a very early example at that, for just £850. Thats left me with £115 change... - Edit: Oh cock...I was working on a £7,000 budget. :fp: Will keep my choice as it is though. The extra money went into getting a new sofa, so's to stop the misses moaning about having bought the MR2.
7. Guessing by the banner on Amazon, I think it's the name of the show. Bit of an odd one, makes me think of the sort of show Ewan McGregor would do while touring on bikes or any travel show, rather than something that's about mucking about with cars.
8. When people smoke the "bad stuff", the type of music that fall's under "Stoner Rock" comes to mind for alot of folk. But for alot of people I know & others.. For me, i don't touch that sort of stuff (Be is 'Special' or tabaco, 99 petrol is more precious waste of moneys for me)...but for £12 i couldn't say no to this gem on record!
9. I've just canceled your 5:50 appointment, hope you can get your hair done elsewhere. ;) Joking aside, car stereotypes exist for a reason. Sadly the owners of ST's & VRX's, at least up my way, live up to that example. In this case: Chavvsh driving, having something 'monster energy' related in or on the car and blaring out generic tunes while at the local Asda or driving up & down the main street. Will also have a generic fart-can exhaust, ebay coilovers on and new rim's. And will likely be 25 or under & have a job related to the Oil. Not all owners live up to it though, know 3 or so who have it & actually use it on roads it was made for. Abarth owners on the other hand, will be forever having to tell people "Yes, it's based on a Fiat but its actually it's own manufacture" My part dislike of the current gen of Fast Ford's is maybe due to the 'microclimate' we have in Aberdeen & Shire due to oil moneys?
10. The ST is a cracker of a car, had a shot a a mates one and was just...Wow! :) My only problem with it is't the car it's self...just half the owners and the fact you see so many of them (I know 10 people with them...) I have to say though, not a fan of your car because of one very small thing...It was originally registered in Glasgow! Yuk... - Finally managed to get out on a dry day to give the Abarth a thrashing, and oh boy she diddent disappoint! :D Had a blast up South Deeside, then up the Cairn o Mount & down to Fettercarin, before heading to Edzell taking some of the back roads, then along to Brechin and to Montrose(Again, on the back roads). Then took the Coastline route back to Aberdeen. Thankfully came across very few cars so made the most of it! Most of the roads I took are near single track ones with lots of twist's, curves and bumps (Airborne 3 times...), will really need to get a video of the 'Cairn O mount' road for you guy's as I've gone on about it enough. Anyways, stopped for a wee bit for some photos...
11. MICRO MACHINES V3 That is all. :D I'll get a proper list up soon. But That game needs a mention as was epic as, and I've fond memory's of it.
12. From what I overheard, it's a customer car that's being looked after by the dealer for the time being. (Showroom candy) Two more from the meet... :)
13. You've a point, just had a look threa the thread and no mention of any! MG T series, MGA, B and Midget. And of course the F/TF. The king of cool himself, Steve McQueen, even had a few. A TC & a Midget to name the ones I could remember. The likes of the B was the default drop top for years, both sides of the pond.
14. I don't have picture of the actual stuff, but.... Service kit, serpentine belt, timing belt kit, water pump + coolent, diff-seal kit and track rod ends for the LS400. *Generic picture of timing belt kit. Costing a fair penny, as in more than the bloody car cost me due to getting genuine Lexus parts. And I'm not fitting all of it myself.
15. As much as I agree, and I absolutely love the Spyder, alot people would say it's not a manly convertible... Because it's a Boxster.
16. From 2 weekends ago, this crazy is the crazy/epic colored Aventador SV Roadster I was on albout in my earlier post. Photo's arnt top notch(Not helped that I've just linked these over from FB), I just point & shoot and make sure they arnt too bad. I tend to spent more time admiring & ogling the car then I do taking photos.
17. Hello and welcome. :) The big question is, is it North or South Scotland your from? ;)
18. Subconsciously with that in mind, but not as the main idea. :cheeky: With regards to the old School choices, it's still paper copy's for me. I tired getting them on the tablet & phone but never found myself getting into it that way.
19. Good to see I'm not the only one who cant stand them! Will keep opinions off this thread to keep it on-topic, and await your thread on them!
20. Oddly I only have 1 post in this thread... Here's a few that spring to mind. Any Jaguar convertible. From the XK120, E-Type, XJ-S, Old & new XK/R and current F-Type. Likewise, any Aston convertible. The new Abarth 124 as well. But Same with the MX5 & Fiat 124. Rolls Royce of any sort, just as long as you don;t have the roof down in a city otherwise you look a bit of a pillock. But the current Phantom DHC or Dawn...would love to have a nice cruse up in the country roads on on fine day with the roof down in one of them! Once you experience no roof, it's really something and add's 20% to the experience I find! I'd take the roof off the Cappuccino whenever the sun was out, be it a drive up the mountains or going to work. Personally, I'd prefer a drop for most, if not all supercars If i had the money. Any convertible is manly, it's just how you interpret it. :) Other than the Bini, DS3 or Fiat/Abarth 500...
21. I guess you guy's wont be too surprised by this, but most people find it odd that I don't watch YT car channels and such. Just can't get into the groove of watching something every week/time it's out. I watch stuff if my flatmate has it on but I don't religiously follow any. See 'Roadkill' a few times and love that, seen smoking tyre a few times as well and though it's good. (The guy has a silly high mileage LS400 as well...). I just can't seem to stand any of the 'supercar spotter/vLogs' though... Websites for news? Pistonheads, Autoczar, etc and Autoblog (for keeping up to date on US stuff). Oh, don't forget China car news to see what horrors is happening with the Chinese car industry. On a few automotive pages that arnt for news as well, AR Online, Japanese Nostalgic Classic,Sniff Petrol and Speedhunters to name a few. And also on a few forums, owners clubs for the Lexus and such, as well as some general car ones like Autoshite which is right up my street... (Other people who get excited over things such as a 1983 base model Ford Sierra or a Proton MPi) Must say I'm rather old skool and stick with magazine Evo, Octane, Classic & Sports car, Modern Classic's and such being regulars so of course follow them on the social media side of things. Could list the social media side of things but would be too big a list....everything from established brands to random one man pages.
22. I'm hugely surprised no DB9/V8 Vantages have reached the sub-£20k mark yet considering how many made & the age of them. And there are a few leggy & shabby looking early models going around. I remember the DB7's were just kissing £10k a few years ago but have gone up in price of late. And the Maserati 3200/Gransport's can be had for between £10 - £15k still. Keeping the Aston theme going, I bring y'all this one of Aston's finest... Yours for just shy of £33,000. A low mileage, MANUAL Aston Martin that seats 4 people...Why the funny looks?
23. Talking of that crash with Santu... I don't even...
24. Sorry for causing the first accident, wanted to try out brake Skylark but sadly took you out Carlos. :( Got Some photos though...
