How can I re-install TDU1 BRAND NEW on my PC. It had been installed on my PC already, but I want it to re-install like it is being installed for the first time. For example, when I try to re-install, it doesn't ask me for the game security code anymore because it is using old data files, but I want to use the original data files with a new installation. How can I do this?

Hi everyone. I'd like to present you my photos in our favourite game - Test Drive Unlimited. I'll update this thread every week and I hope you'll like it and rate. I'm having trouble with the game. it seems to be crashing in game (in TDU1 and TDU2) while im driving and then trying to back the windows desktop. The game does have sound mods over the original files and 1 or 2 wheel mods, on TDU1 only. I updated TDU2 first and played it. the game did the crash then attempt to switch to the desktop twice. :cry: Then whilst playing TDU1 after i played TDU2, it did the same thing:mad: what could be causing this, i didnt have any other programs open whilst playing these games. could it be that another game installed on my computer is causing this, say a "cracked" game. does my computer simply need a restart? could a wired internet connection have anything to do with the game crashing/freezing). I do also have some of those downloadable custom desktop themes installed. cheers, Mclarenboy

Saturday 8 September shall be TDU1 Appreciation day on PC (hurry up and reinstall now if you have to, don't worry about mods too much). The aim is to have as many people join as possible so the session will go for most of the day and we'll drop in & out as circumstances and timezones dictate. Since my Thrustmaster TH8RS shifter arrived the other day I've been playing TDU1 a bit and have been disappointed to find <50 people online each time (yesterday there was only 18 at one stage). Makes connecting to people very easy but not a lot of choice when it comes to cruising with people in the same car group as yours. Worse still is the fact that if Atari notices (and for this reason please DO NOT post this on the TDU2 forums) they may decide to retire these servers. Granted - I was playing in the middle of the day (GMT+10) which is past midnight for you guys (as it turns out Russians don't like to sleep much) :) So what is your TDU1 status? Are you open to playing/cruising more often? Perhaps you'd like to start a new profile and re-do the career for nostalgias sake? (assuming you were never forced to restart your profile due to not backing up) ;)

So I suppose I've done everything right in importing a sound for a car from TDU2 into TDU1. I've been able to extract it, and open in it in audacity where I made it all the files mono, exported it as a 4-bit MC ADPCM and imported via TDU modding tools. Is there any special step I might be missing? Is there anything else that needs to be done to the sound files to make them work in TDU1? Because as of now, I do not get any sound from the car, its completely silent. I've tried using many different donor sound bnk's, but it remains silent.

Would you like TDU2 to be updated with a new handling mode, something akin to what HC mode was to TDU1? Then please post here in this thread, or even better, post here on TDU2.com with your opinions on it. The more people that reply to the thread over there, the more likely Atari/Eden are to take notice of the thread and possibly do something about it. Thanks!

Hey guys I have been thinking about doing this since early last month and I think it's worth going for and I would like to get the other International communities involved in it also. TDU France, TDU-C.de, TDU.PL, TDU.forumcommunity etc. What I am aiming at is getting a number of people to play TDU1 on an upcoming Sunday of this month - more than likely the 22nd or 29th - to show our appreciation for TDU1 even after all these years. All you PC players who enjoyed using your wheels and such jump on again and show how much you enjoy proper wheel and clutch support, all of you who enjoyed your Lamborghini's jump in one and drive them round the island, all you bikers, mafia dons and Hardcore mode aficionados you know what to do also. So whose up for this? The more the better, unfortunately I don't know what the connectivity on the PC side is compared to the undeniably smooth Xbox but all the same it's mainly a day to show how much you really like TDU1 especially if TDU2 has disappointed you. So come on guys whose up for a TDU AD! :duck: I'll create a graphic so that you guys on other communities can post it up and join in on this community collaboration if you want to. :D :bparty:

Saturday 28 Jan at 11:00am GMT (London). (10pm Melbourne). The deal is simple, everyone meets up, locks together, then turns off the entire HUD (player name, speedo, and GPS). Each person takes turns picking a place to race to. Usually it's a dealer or other notable building or landmark. Then everyone races and picks their own route, trying to think ahead of time which way they will go while trying not to crash at 250kph+. It's very exciting stuff. When you arrive at the destination you can turn your HUD back on to see how everyone else is doing, but just don't announce that you've arrived, as it keeps the suspense going for the others who are racing. Example of good locations to race to: Dealers: Ferrari (inner or outer city) Dodge Viper (east coast) Aston Martin Laborghini (middle and east of island) Koenigsegg Holden Efijy Ducati Kawasaki Lexus Pontiac Audi European Classic Alfa Romeo etc Paint Shops Deluxe paint shop Waikiki paint shop East and west coast paint shop Other House at the top of the crater near Waikiki Vrent where the game starts near Airport Entrance to O'ahu Raceway O'ahu Police Station Red Rabbit clothes shops Observatories Stadium Ford Island Airports If you have any more let me know or just say on the day.
