Compact Digital Cameras

Hi, everyone here seems to be into their digital SLR's. They take great photo's but I feel like a total idiot walking around with one :) My 18th Birthday is coming up (well is ages away but parents are still asking) and i'm thinking about a camera. This is I search on the internet and I can find no proper info. What I want may be impossible though.

- Decent quality to at least A4 (so no really need for mega megapixals)

- Quick to load up and take photo's

- As small as possible and as thin as possible

- More than 3x zoom (optical)

- Would like a proper viewfinder thing

- Cost around £200 but flexible

- Not use silly cars like XD (though can do if slightly cheaper camera)

Quality is the main issue. Normally use my mums small camera and a quality is shocking. Second biggest issue is the speed it takes the photo, get so annoyed when you miss something and just get a blurred mess.

If anyone can give any recommendation that would be great. Thanks.

This is the one I use :

* 6.0 megapixel sensor

* 35-210mm (equiv.) F2.8-4.8 6x zoom lens

* DIGIC II image processor and iSAPS technology

* Accurate focusing with FlexiZone AF/AE

* ISO 800 shooting

* Widescreen (16:9) stills recording

* 30fps VGA movie recording

* 1cm macro mode

* Full photographic control

* 2.5" LCD with Night Display and Grid Line Display

* Optional tele, wide and close up convertors

There`s a lot of info in the site. It`s not as small as possible but it`s a bit more expensive but I`m using it for 3rd year now and still no problems and the quality remains. ;)

Even the latest version of that, the A720is, which I use, is very hard to find as canon pulled it to stop it competing with their high end compacts.

There's a great ultra-small camera group review here:

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Q408slimgroup/

The winners were the

Canon SD 790 IS and Panasonic DMC-FX37

but it's worth reading the full review because they tell you a lot about the cameras.

Uhm, so you mean, that they pulled them out of production, so people buy more expensive but not much better cameras from their high class...That is so dumb, guess I`m lucky to have mine. :p
