Instant Race - Only 3 Miles??

Hey guys, sorry if I posted it in the wrong section.

 

In Single Player mode when I join an Instant Race it only allows me to set the route in 3 miles distance only. Is there a way to increase that to 300 miles or 3000 miles? I hate 3 mile racing.... I might as well just don't race ha ha. I like Instant Challenge race and would like to increase it. Is there a mod for this or am I asking something that's impossible? Any moderators have this info? Please input... I hope I'm not asking something crazy. I'm sure there are others who want longer than 3 miles instant race.

No, not possible. That's why they called it 'instant'.

Try setting it to metric units, maybe u get some extra distance. It lets me to set to max 5.1 KM which is 3.17 miles :D

Hey, how do I join Online race? In the upper left of the screen says TDU server not found or something? I'm not sure how to go about joining an online race. Maybe this way I can get to race one on one for longer distance?:confused:

Servers not found = you're offline so don't even try to find an online race :)

Ever heard of online/gamespy accounts, huh ?

 

Personally, instant challenge length is 5.3 km @ max.

I heard about the gamespy account but I have never used it nor join any online games for years now. The last time I played online was back in 1999. You didn't expect to hear that did ya. ;)

 

Does this game support multiplayer for networked PC's in a room? do you need gamespy account for this too?

 

 

This game is kind of disappointing though.. 3.3 miles max for Instant Race, ya got to be kidding me. lol. If i was the programmer i would make it so that the user have option to set the distance to his/her liking, or set to race around the entire island (150 some miles or something?).

To join online races, u gotta make gamespy account before start a new profile, by ticking the appropriate button (follow the instructions on screen). Existing off line profile cannot be used online. Yeah I know...it sucks but that's how it is.

Playing over LAN only is not supported, but u can play together with other computers on ur LAN, as long as each has original DVD and all connected to the Internet via the same router.

Instant races are not essential part of the game. The main goal is to make a progress by unlocking the island roads and challenges scattered throughout the map, winning races, fulfilling tasks, buying new cars and houses and so on...the best part (well at least it was) is online aspect of the game, with free roaming, meeting other players, cruising around together, doing some online races....

The servers are rather deserted and inconsistent right now, but frankly, they've never been working very well anyway. Hopefully the next TDU will solve the connection issues
