Can't Play Online

Ok, the following story is completely true.

 

I bought TDU at a garage sale for $3 a few years ago. The installation went fine, but when I tried to play the game, it thought that it wasn't a legit version. The guy said that he never played it online or anything. The serial seems legit.

 

There are some small scratches on the disc, so I don't know if that's why or what, but I think I might go down to Gamestop and find this game because I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to play it online.

Is it a proper game disc, as in not a writeable DVD?

It looks like a legit disc with a nice printed...label (I guess) on the front.

 

I'm gonna go out and buy a new copy. This game is definitely worth more than $3.

It should have no problems if its original.

 

they might have burn't the game and registered on gamespy with that cd key

Oh yeah, I forgot to say that I've been using a "mini-DVD image" of the game, since the original disc just doesn't wanna work. Maybe that's why I can't play online?

Yes, that's why you can't play the game online as it is seen as a way to get around the games copyright protection.

 

If you want to play online, you will need an original copy of the game in your PC.

I'll buy the real one in about an hour. I also have to go to RadioShack to get some ferrite beads :).

 

Well that sucks, the GameStop doesn't have it. I don't know of any store in my area that would have it... Gamestop is like the only place here (besides Wal-Mart).

My parents (oddly) don't like buying stuff online. I don't mind it, as the best deals are on the internet. My mom is a security freak.

 

Maybe Target has it, but the nearest one of those is an hour away.

Anyway, I was able to get a legit key so I should be able to play online now :).

 

Not sure if the megapack will work...

Megapack requires it's own activation and multiplayer key so no it won't unless you actually bought it.
