how do i solve this problem i rarely see somebody with a red name tag there all white and lagging

I see you're from the UK. Is your ISP BT? If so are you using the BT Homehub? It's a horrid router for gaming.

 

If you're not then it should be a case of opening/forwarding the required ports on your router. I know what the 360 uses not sure about the PC but it can't be hard for one of these guys to tell you.

Ah yea... it's trash. I know a few of the other guys on here got stung with it. I personally have no experience with it, having always chosen to avoid BT like the plague.

 

There are some other threads about it. Do you know how to sign into the router itself?

Damn... I would recommend buying a new router but I'm going to guess you don't pay for the internet so that's not really an option. Does your router allow Port forwarding under any of its options?

Okay well that's something I guess. This is where I become useless. I don't know which ports Gamespy, X-Fire etc use so you'll either have to wait for the PC players to respond or get on google to find out which ports you need to allow.
