Trying to track down a mod

I used this mod years ago and it was great, it really made TDU so much better.

 

It removed the dirt and specs from your windshield. Where you had a nice clean windshield while driving. The windshield wasn't clear. It just had a clean windshield texture 100% of the time.

 

I just tried illusion island paradise and its a wonderful mod, but I want to also find and reinstall that no dirty windshield mod that I used to have on an older install years ago. The trouble is trying to find that mod since its release in 2006 with the hundreds or possibly thousands of new mods that have been released since the last time I played this game is nearly impossible for someone who doesn't know where to look on the main tdu mod sites.

 

Does anyone know where I can find this mod?

It worked for all cars, since it just replaced the base texture for a dirty windshield and didn't remove the windshield like some mods do.

 

I hate driving with a messed up windshield even if driving without going offroad once.

Clean Windscreen Mod

 

Step 1

Open the Bnk Editor, then find the Common_Car.bnk located:

'C:\Program Files\Atari\Test Drive Unlimited\Euro\Bnk\Vehicules'

 

Step 2

Extract the 'glass_d2.2db' file.

 

Step 3

Save a blank Notepad file as 'glass_d2.2db' using the 'All files' selection and not the '.txt' selection.

 

Step 4

In the Bnk Editor, replace the 'glass_d2.2db' file with the one you just created in Notepad.

 

Quite a simple mod, but effective ...

thanks, its a wonderful mod that really enhances TDU. Goes great with that new texture pack I just tried out. Thats definately a keeper!

It never worked for me O.O But you say it works for others? Maybe I shouldn't have deleted it >>
