Nothing to stop him buying it twice I guess. Not sure about TDU2, but with GT5 you could find preorder codes for sale on Ebay as well - which is how I got the Stealth cars.

I thought that too, It used to happen in previous games (I.E: Generation BEFORE PS3's)

 

But now, Developers are so hyped up on graphics and gameplay, they don't put any "fail" safes in case of situations like that. It makes me :(.
