Hey there

im building a pc, and i have the case and the motherboard!

The next step is buying a PSU.

When i get the PSU, will the computer power on just with the motherboard and the PSU?

Of course i dont want to boot it and use it XD, just see if the coolers power up and the PSU works and MOBO Lights work and the case lights work and power switches

So thats my question, can i power up a computer with no ram and no CPU and no GPU (appart from da onboard one) ??

thanks :)

The motherboard will need to POST (Power On Self Test)

You may be able to get power to the coolers, but you shouldn't be able to hear anything from the excessive beeping the motherboard will be doing (Telling you something's wrong)

I would wait until I get all of the parts, personally. Just incase you break something while you're waiting for the rest of the parts (I've done it myself)

You won't have much functionality of anything (You wont be able to access the BIOS) All that should happen is the fans come on and the motherboard beeps, that is all.

yea i know i wont be able to use anything, as it has no CPU so it cant process anything, and i doubt the mobo can POST without CPU, never tried seeing if a motherboard does the POST without a cpu but im pretty sure it wont, not sure.

All i wanted though is to check if the coolers power, and the case leds, and the power switch.

just to check if its all properly connected :)

So should i get cooler power and case button/led power?
