Can't open the game! HELP!

Hi,

I have a problem, when i click on "Lauch Test Drive Unlimited.exe", the game starts, and then hits many black windows in my face, and then exits.

I'm on Windows XP SP3, And my laptop meets the requirements to run the game.

Laptop? TDU doesn't support laptop graphics hardware, I'm pretty sure that is why it is doing that to you.

But isn't there any way to "fool" the game? TDU2 runs perfectly. So TDU should run too?

TDU wasn't optimised or supported on Laptops.

 

Some it will, some it won't. It's the way the shaders were coded. It's deep code, so no chance of "fooling" the game.

this problem is not isolated to laptops, as funny enough, i had exact same prob on my desktop gf-9500GT, after working fine for many months, didn't play for a while and it would not load to menu, a simple graphics update got it going again even tho was using same install and version as before.

..perhaps a directX update had stuffed up the old graphic drivers compatability with this game, so maybe some laptops will work after a driver update fisrt from manufacturer site, if that fails then try a generic driver from the graphic chip's site.
