Played Canyon a bit last year but didn't like the physics and location too much, hopefully this is better.

Played TM since day one.

Loved Sunrise and United.

But found TM2 to be a huge let down... Can't see anything to go back to it here.

I started playing Trackmania when Nations came out. Bought United when it came out and also bought TM² canyon earlier this year. I gotta say, even though I have the best memories from Nations & United, neither of them "sucked me in" quite like TM² did :hmmm:

 

Also, the Valley trailer may be prerendered but I'm quite sure you'll be able to get graphics like that (or at least close to that) if your PC is capable of doing it. TM² Canyon looked good but it was badly optimized imho :/

Yeah Nations and TMU (Stadium) were the best. Great physics and great close racing. I often placed very well in whatever servers I joined. Probably just my opponents not being very good more than any skill on my part, but still fun.

 

Do many still play Nations and United online?

There were loads of stadium servers online when I last played united (a month or two ago), can't remember the situation about the other tracks :hmmm:

I played Stadium for a while when it first came out, but found the physics made it way too easy... even on keys.

In the original 3 environments (Desert, Alpine and Rally) there was a much tougher and more rewarding challenge. :)

Yeah the basics were basic but that meant the racing was closer and winning was more rewarding - also led to harder and more interesting track creations - you could spend more time working out how to complete the track rather than just how to drive

 

Will reinstall TmU one day if you want to setup a race for a bunch of us

I've seen way harder stuff in Desert and Alpine... Most of the tech tracks in Stadium are just filled with scenery to trip you up.

But yeah it did have tight racing.

Trackmania 2: Canyon is now purchasable and Trackmania 2: Stadium pre-ordeable from Steam.

You can also access the Stadium Beta by clicking the "download demo" button on the Steam Store page.

 

Also if you bought Trackmania 2:Canyon previously from the Maniaplanet store you can use that same key on Steam to add it to your Steam library. :)

Funny thing, I thought Stadium was gonna be free :lol: Tested the beta yesterday and there's no major differences when compared to the old stadium so not gonna get it, Canyon and TMU will do just fine for me :nods:

Looks the same as TrackMania Nations. Wont bother with it unless its a couple of quid most probs. I have my TMU disk somewhere that will keep me going but would be good doing more online :)
