Played a few hours of LFS a moment ago. I was at the Live to cruise server again.

Exact server name is "[LTC] Live to cruise" (without " of course). I'd like to welcome everyone who plays LFS there. Oh and demo drivers, join "[LTC] Livetocruise demo"

I think cruise servers are boring to be honest (only my opinion so no need to get angry), but I love racing and drifting :), as you can probaly tell :cheeky:.

Macd79, it's all about the practice. I've been playing for years so I've had a lot of practice :)

What sort of PC specs do you have? I only ask as I wouldn't mind knowing how good the graphics of that game are with a high spec machine. I tried a demo of it a year ago but never considered upgrading. I have GTR Evo so I'm not sure if it's worth buying another sim game.

My PC specs can been seen here, I run LFS on max settings with 16x AF and 8x AA (max my pc will do).

LFS isn't really that graphical, but you can make it look better with higher quality textures and the reflection pack I use aswell. If you have a more powerful pc you can get more AF & AA. I'm pretty sure LFS is still running on DX7 so you can't really get much out it unless the dev's update to DX9/10 in the near future, which is highly unlikely.

I really hope Gran Turismo 5 comes on PC. I did hear rumors a long time ago but don't know if anything has changed since then.

About the TG films, I may have a go at making one privately to see how it works out, I don't think my driving or video editing is up to scratch though. My driving in TDU doesn't really compare to my driving in LFS :cheeky:.

 

Also I heard that rumour of the GT series possibly going multi-platform, the only other option is PC now as PS3 and PSP Go are taken :).

Close enough :cheeky:, oh well if LFS updated to DX9 or DX10 it would be awesome, but I can't see it happening soon unless Scawen and Eric have been working on it secretly. Scawen has said to expect some good releases this year, so something to look forward too :).

I may aswell post this here. Just testing a filter (magic bullet), the results are not as expected but i've just got to get used to it :).

 

 

You will have to excuse the wrecker on the second clip, there is always one :rolleyes:. Also it's not low fps, it's lag because of online ;).

Photos were taken from the replay ;). 2nd and 3rd place were quicker than me but I managed to hold 2nd off. It's always good having people quicker behind you because it pushes you to break your pb which I did. Twice in that race, so i'm happy with that, but I can still improve :).

Loving the XFG's getting there inside rear wheel up under heavy braking and turning in :), you can sometimes do it in the XRG's but very rarely have I seen it.

I know that feeling (in GTR Evo), but I usually end up in a gravel trap instead of breaking PBs :(

 

Maybe when a new version of LFS comes out I'll buy it.

Ahhh, GTR Evo, whenever i'm on a good lap I always make a silly mistake which leads to a few tenths of a second loss :(, ruins my fun lol. I don't really play it much anymore to be honest though, kind of got bored with it. I think LFS is the only racing game I have that can keep my attention. Plus the fact that I never raced online on it until May this year, so it's like a whole new game to me :).

 

Just checked my lap times, and from my last race at Aston Club (May 19th 2009). My fastest lap was a 1:22.410. Compare that to the fastest lap of the same track last night, 1:23.110 :eek:, almost a second lost lol. So just over a month of not racing, and i've lost 7 tenths of a second, I expect I will be quicker today, if I race :).
