[PC] Casino DLC problem

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping I can get some help with a DLC problem I'm having with TDU2.

I purchased the game off of steam and it updated to DLC2 V034 Build 16 no worries. I started a new profile and game in

offline mode.

I was able to enter the casino and drive/buy the casino car etc but not play casino games.

Then I went to the Atari TDU website, bought some atari tokens and downloaded all the DLC on offer there, including the

Casino Online DLC.

(see DLCCasinoOnline.jpg attachment)

Since doing that however, I can no longer access the casino, I get an error message instead:

(see CasinoError.jpg attachment)

and the game will no longer allow me to go to the casino in offline.

I then created a new online profile and I can access the casino no problems with that. If I switch back to the offline profile I can't access the casino!

Remember I could access the casino just fine in offline UNTIL I purchased the DLC from the Atari website.

How can I fix this infuriating problem and restore access to the casino in my offline account please?

(hopefully you can see the attachments, the forum won't let me post links (or even put attachments into the text yet for some reason)

I'm not 100% certain about this, but it is possible that the game is trying to retrieve your stats for the Casino now that you own it and when it can't in the offline it just exits. The game was effectively abandoned and it's well known there are a number of issues with the game still, Atari though do seem to be slowly coming back and showing face so maybe it would be worth using their support to see what they say about this.

I'd just love to know what file I have to delete/modify to make the game believe I didn't purchase the casino DLC. That would be fine for this play through.

Okay, I got desperate and lucky. Here is how you fix this (temporarily anyway).

Backup your savegame (you should be doing this regularly with this game anyway)

Rename your TDU install folder to something else

Copy back your original install of the game if you have it (I backed up the game folder before it fetched any updates when I first installed it, you may need to install it again on another machine if you didn't back the folder up like I did).

Run the game. Do what you need to do on Casino Island (I needed to cash in some credits I had) leave, the island, exit the game

Delete the old install, unrename your TDU install folder.

Play normally.
