Lagginess?

ok i recently bumped up my resolution from 1600x1200 to 2048x1536, and when i first changed it i got GREAT FPS and it was smooth, now after a few weeks later its somewhat laggy and not as smooth as when i first changed it, any ideas?? ps. i defragged too. my specs are in the gaming rig in my profile thing, thx

Changed graphics drivers or aything like that? Btw, I'm unbelievebly jealous about that res. 2048x1536... *dies*

nope all the same drivers from 2007, my father told me its not really good to get the newest drivers by ati for agp cards now since everything is pci express and might screw up my card if i get the newest.. any other ideas why??? and thx andreaz1 haha i loveeeeeeee this res. everything looks soo realistic compared to 1600x1200, ur vid card can prolly do it, a 7800gtx, not bad..

Try decreasing the AA and try not having HDR on (if you do have it on).

but my video card can take EVERYTHING this game has to offer, like i said when i first switched i had, 2048x1536,4xAA, 16xAF Forced in Control center, and HDR, and it was AWESOME when i first switched for like a week, now its laggy, any other ideas are appricated, thx!

what's your video card in the first place?

 

i'm not familiar with ATi because i've only used nvidia and i think your father is wrong, you have to update it's drivers. you select what type of card you have and get it's proper drivers for it.

x1950Pro is a very good middle of the road (now anyway) card :) I had the GT before this new PC.

yea i love this card, hmmmm i just went back into the game cause i added the m3 on, and now its flawless.... maybe its my internet connection... my dad is play WoW on his comp so, prolly thats my problem, my internet connection, well if u have anything else to add, it would be appricated,thx
