  1. That top one is cool looking; very futuristic. The bottom one scares me a bit, it's horrifyingly cute. :aah:
  2. Did you post in the wrong topic by chance?
  3. @H4milton Now that is going to get you into trouble. I mean look at it, it's pressure on wheels, it wants to get up to mischief!
  4. Yeah, they really do have some choice picks in that area.
  5. GRAVEL has gotten itself two new gameplay videos that show off a couple of races recently. Both are of the 'Wild Rush' variety against another 7 opponents, the first taking place in Namibia at dusk and the latest during a snow storm at Montebianco. Hard to know what to think about this game. But with a February release, it can't be too long before previews start to stream out, or a delay is announced.
  6. BMW M5 Refuels Mid-Drift The popular saying ‘necessity is the mother of all invention’ has again been proven true, as when BMW found themselves wanting to reclaim a Guiness World Record, they invented a system that allowed them to refuel an M5, in mid-drift! Not wanting to make any stops for fuel during the run, BMW sought out the help and expertise of North Carolina based vehicle fabricators Detroit Speed. In order to accomplish these feats and set new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS titles, BMW partnered with North Carolina based automotive fabricators Detroit Speed to develop a custom dry break fuel system capable of refuelling the BMW M5 mid-drift in the same way that fighter jets can refuel mid-flight. And so, while the record attempting car driven by BMW Precision Driving Instructor, Johan Schwartz was being slid around the BMW Performance Center in Greer, South Carolina, a previous-gen M5, piloted by Chief Driving Instructor Matt Mullins, that had been customised to carry the refuelling system, headed out and drifted alongside when the tank was getting low. Where then, brave Matt Butts of Detroit Speed would, while attached to a safety tether, lean out the rear window, bridge the gap between the two cars, and attach the fuel pump. This was done on FIVE separate occasions. Although the refueling system was built with the most technologically advanced components on the market, a human touch was needed to make and hold the refuel connection. Emergency crews were on standby just in case, as with only the skill of the two drivers and Butts keeping the whole operation together there was little margin for error, and so to have successfully completed this deserves major respect to all involved. After the completion of the main record, both drivers went out and got themselves a second title, lapping together to gather the title for ‘Longest twin vehicle drift (water assisted)’. Not a bad day at the office, eh? Once the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the Greatest distance vehicle drift in 8 hours was achieved, BMW attempted -- and successfully completed -- a second title for Longest twin vehicle drift (water assisted) (1 hour / 49.25 miles), now co-owned by Schwartz and Mullins. [via BMW GROUP Press] UPDATE 1 - 12/1/18: Changed second YouTube video as previous one was removed for some (???) reason.
  7. As I said in the other thread, I really like these cars and I believe they always were judged well for being driver's cars so a fun A-B machine. That's really nice that the car is from your year of birth and also that it was your dads too. He's looked after it for sure despite the rough edges but you cannot expect a car that old to not have some real wear and tear. You've got a great base to start from, that colour especially makes the car look even better in my opinion, and it will be cool to see how you make it more yours, over time.
  8. That gen of Bimmer will always be timeless for me. She looks real good for her age and in a superb colour too.
  9. You can use the thread description to alert of a new update too. I understand your point though and have noted it.
  10. Before anyone on PC jumps in about it being "X using mod Y", please keep this topic to only the standard games and the way they can be played. Thanks. The handling in an open world and free roam racing game is always a hot topic. You have your casual players who like nothing more than being able to easily hit the roads and fields and have the car behave in a controllable manner, then you have the in-betweeners (simcaders?) who like a little bit of fight with their vehicles but not too much that understeer and oversteer make them panic, and then you have the simulators, who like nothing more than a truly authentic experience. (and would probably wish for real fuel consumption, tyre wear and the need to wash and wax your car after every outing :p) Forgetting all about those different types, it needs to be remembered that the driving in the game itself is the core of it all, and if it's crap, then it doesn't matter how big, detailed and jam-packed full of features it is, as you're not going to have much fun when playing through it if the handling annoys you. You might be able to endure it enough to make it through, and perhaps the tuning, modification and photo mode features or whatever else is available, are so enjoyable that they themselves take over. But it's the game's world that matters most, no? And if you can enjoy it as well as all of the extras, then a damn good game you have found Now, not every game is going to have everything you want, and I am only asking for the game that in your view had the best driving feeling, for you, and to briefly say why it was the case. In my opinion I still find it hard for any game to beat the feeling of the original... Forza Horizon. There was a nice balance between all the different drive types, the frightening speed through monster power, and the feeling of weight and inertia displayed by the vehicles. I got to try FH2, and FH3, but only briefly, and I did not like the way it seemed to have regressed and felt a bit more floaty than their oldest ancestor. Was FH too close to FM for some and so they dialled it back? The Rally Expansion also is a clear indicator of why I rank FH as the best, the feeling of the car tackling those routes and struggling for traction, Scandinavian flicking, bogging down at points, and the pulling off a perfect handbrake turn was just glorious. If you can, I really recommend you check it out and judge for yourself.
  11. I tried to steer away from mentioning anything about TDU/2, but with a game like this, it's really quite impossible. I managed, but I did so only by leaving it to you guys instead to bring it up. :p The first was definitely way ahead of its time. *looks at topic title* He agrees!
  12. It's a fair suggestion, however, editing records show that most changes or updates to posted content happen usually within the first few mins of the original (usually a typo or something else awry), or within a few days: ie; in the case of a rumour having been proven real or fake and other preview type events. Whereas those in the modding community who contribute directly to the Mod Shop are always needing to be able to update. Any other updates wanted can easily be sought by contacting a forum team member and asking for it. Maybe if a need shows for this permission outwith this, then we will take another look at it.
  13. Nah, you've earned it and I see no need to revoke it. You have a cool project in progress that will be getting updates, makes sense to be able to post about that, don't you think? ;)
  14. How about a remove driver option in photo mode? :) Kind of annoying this isn't a standard thing.
  15. @F12Berlinetta, they look fine to me, and that's even with my monitor being on a cooler temperature via Flux. Nice shots to start a new year off with too. :D
  16. Hey @Milli, this is because last year we implemented a time limit on the editing of content to curb a method spammers may use. In doing so we realised this hindered Modders, and so they are exempt of this BUT ONLY in the Mod Shop section. The reason you were able to edit your post here is because it is within the time limit allowed. I will give you the Modder badge which will take care of this for you. :p Can you please see if you are now able to edit so I can mark this as Answered. Quoted only for reference, you should always seek out the latest posts to see what the current function of the present day is in regards to this.
  17. [HEADLINE]Forza Horizon 4, what more does it need?[/HEADLINE] We are in a Forza Horizon release year and rumours are pointing to us moving to the land of the rising sun for Forza Horizon 4. Part of this thinking is not only because of the recent rumours (and fake images) that have made their way out, but also that FH was set in North America, FH2 in Europe, FH3 in Australia, and now Asia would be the prime candidate to get the next one. The logic checks out on that one. The phenomenal success (despite its problems) of FH3 has raised a new bar in the open world racing game and FH4 will look to capitalise on that and a new environment is always a good way to start, however there is an aspect players and fans constantly ask for and that is for a much larger environment. After all, no matter how detailed a location is, if it feels quite constrained (in the sense where you're travelling near 200mph often) then it can get pretty old fast. Always running the same roads or routes and seeing the same things can get, well, boring. And so there needs to be variety, plenty to do but also a big enough space to do it that doesn't feel like you've 'been there, done that' a 1000 times already. I have no doubt that FH4 will be an amazing game no matter what size of map it has, however this is an area where the series is often seen where it could do much better in. And I don't forget there are many of you out there who would disagrees. (preparing to be proven wrong though ) Apart from this, is there anything else you think FH4 could do with... or perhaps without? :hmmm:
  18. That is awesome @Ryzza5! The whole event sounds like an excerpt from a romantic novel or film, you clearly put a lot of thought into making it a memorable occasion for you both to look back on. I had to laugh at knowing you announced it before actually making it happen but hey, it's good to be impulsive at times! :D I wish you and your lovely lady a long and happy future. :) :bparty:
  19. It started off well enough, that Cambridge-led thing they had going in researching AI did seem to start off and progress well enough... in the 360 days anyway. That part in bold is a strange one, I agree.
  20. That sounds like an educational and thought provoking trip you got planned there @GTAMADDOG. Also, best of luck with the interview and anything else you set out to achieve in the future.
  21. Nice creative thinking with that first shot and great composition on the first of the Aston heading through the tunnel. :)
  22. UPDATE #1 - Jan 4th '17: AMD and ARM chips are also susceptible to this. Now here's something that will not be fun to read about and that is that Intel's CPUs over the last decade (maybe more) have a design flaw that could allow malicious programs and scripts to read parts of a machine's memory that should not be able to. Thankfully, there is a patch in progress for Windows, Linux and Mac systems but the way the patch will work could result in a slowdown compared to before, of between 5 and 30 percent! That's not an all round drop and certain tasks will be affected more than others. It's going to be mostly affected by high-level users such as gamers, along with cloud and web hosting companies who have literally thousands upon thousands of server racks packed with clients who they will now need to possibly move about because of the performance hit that will be felt. AMD are apparently unaffected by this flaw however The first patches from vendors might go the easy route and stop the issue for everything before fine tuning it to only be active for those that are susceptible. It's a major screw up and one that will be felt all over. Intel's stock price is already dropping.
