Assetto Corsa 1.15 & Ready to Race DLC Out Now On Console Assetto Corsa on PS4 and Xbox One have received a new update that brings the console versions up to 1.15, Alongside this, the 'Ready to Race' car pack has also become available to purchase. Just like the big update of 1.14 before, this latest one introduces yet more goodness to the game that players will be thrilled to see. Improved AI that makes the computer-controlled opponents even racier will be very welcome to those who enjoy playing offline and are itching for more of a challenge. And it may have taken it’s time in getting here, having been one of the main demands since the early days of the game’s release, but customisable button mapping is now accessible. Assetto Corsa – Ready to Race PS4 & Xbox One Console players have become used to having to wait a while to get the same content that has been released previously for the PC but it still hurts when the time difference between it is realised. That 'Ready to Race' car pack that has just now dropped for the PS4 and Xbox One has taken almost four months to get to them. But with this, along with the PC release date announcement of the Ferrari 70th Anniversary car pack, the future of AC is always something that can be looked forward to.

Ferrari 70th Car Pack Release Date The Ferrari 70th Anniversary Celebration Pack for Assetto Corsa arrives on September 19th for Steam, followed shortly afterwards (supposedly) by the PS4 and Xbox One. Announced together with a video showcasing the absolute legend that is the Ferrari 250 GTO, Kunos Simulazioni have revealed that the seven car pack that was first mentioned at the start of the year has been in development for more than eight months, all of which has likely been a labour of love for the Italian studio. (yeah right) Kunos Simulazioni is glad to announce that after more than eight months of development, the Ferrari 70th Anniversary Celebration Pack finally is coming to Assetto Corsa: it will be available on Steam on September 19th, to be followed soon on PS4 and XBox One. The package as a whole will include a selection of seven of the most iconic cars ever produced by the Italian car manufacturer! With over 70 years of Ferrari road and racing car production history to choose from, it is not at all surprising to see some of the regulars within the list. The Prancing Horse may have decorated many a vehicle in its time but not all of them have become icons of the brand as compared to those that keep appearing in not only games, but also the top of public votes. Models such as the 250 GTO and the 330 P/4 are synonymous with the manufacturer’s history, while the 288 GTO is well-known in gaming circles because of the amount of titles to have included it, and let's be honest, the latest road-going model of the 812 Superfast getting its own slot is of little wonder either, as it's a commonly employed marketing tactic to have your latest featured. But hey at least this one is a bit of a beast! And even though I am still a bit upset that the F333 SP wasn't the eventual winner (it came 10th!), let's not forget that community-vote winning modern-day F1 car that is doing really well for Vettel this season. As with it, one of the more fascinating things to do with this pack will be to compare the 2017 machine to its 50 years its senior older sibling. Where something tells me, the grip levels are going to be one of major contrast. Now who doesn't want to experience that?! Sports cars, Supercars and Hypercars Go Wild When a video starts with the ultimate Ferrari of today, the non-road legal FXX K, launching from a standing start and speeding on down an empty runway, you wouldn’t be crazy in thinking it had peaked early. But that is not the case with this one. As in this just over 11-minutes long showing from YouTube channel TheTFJJ, there is a constant stream of sports cars, supercars and hypercars performing solo high-speed blasts and drag races on what is likely one of the most scenic locations of any strip of tarmac. All the favourites are here from Lamborghini, Porsche and Ferrari, along with some of the more unique tastes such as an SRT Viper, Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR, Maserati MC12, RUF CTR3 and even a SCG 003S. (search that last one if you're unsure) Old is pitted against new, rivals battle one another and random match ups all make up the different flavours of races on show. And because most of these drivers aren’t professionals there are mistakes made, with instances of bad shifting and some questionable car control on display. But then again, these are cars being driven by their owners and not every owner is as skilled in the art of car control as Chris Harris is. It isn’t the best video in terms of camerawork and some of the races are hard to work out who won because of only the one viewpoint, however it is one where just watching to see all the different cars and turning up the volume to experience the diverse range of sounds, is something all car fans can enjoy.

The Engine That Made Ferrari The year 2017 is the 70th anniversary of Ferrari and throughout the year already there have been celebratory events and plenty written about the automotive legend. We thought we’d put together another definitive guide, this time to the legendary V12 engine. There’s an awful lot to talk about, so we’ve tried to cover it from all angles – factual, historical, mechanical and cultural. We very much hope you enjoy it, and if so don’t forget to share it with your fellow enthusiasts. And they're not kidding when they say "there's an awful lot to talk about" as there is so much about Ferrari within this that even fans of the famous marque might learn something they never knew before. There are some brief times where it strays away from talking about the V12 specifically, but that can be forgiven because of the knowledge that is being gifted upon us when it does happen. From learning why Ferrari’s cars were named what they were at the start, its racing history, cultural impact through the celebrities who have been owners, print media that have featured and compared them, and the cars that have become icons themselves through TV shows and film. Forza Motorsport 7 Demo Announced Turn 10 have announced that Forza Motorsport 7 has gone gold, and that a demo will be available for Xbox One and PC on September 19th. We are also treated to a look at the official commercial for the next in the highly-popular racing series. ‘Musical Cars’ is a fun advert which takes on the typical musical chairs theme but you guessed it, replaces them with cars. Watching a group of people, including professional driver Ken Block, nonchalantly walk around a collection featuring his own “Hoonicorn” Mustang, a Pagani Huayra, Plymouth Barracuda and more, the music inevitably stops and the race is on to not be left without a driver's seat. https://youtu.be/_PKL3323wkQ Those who weren’t too slow, get into their cars and delight our ears to a delicious symphony of engine start ups and exhaust notes. A really nice top down shot shows each one speeding away and heading out on to the track... except for the Plymouth, which just wants to burn rubber it seems. A brief bit of on-track action follows, and then it switches from the inside of the real car, to the in-game version. As I said it's a fun watch, with an aim to show the fun that all types of player can experience. Make sure you watch the whole thing as there is a nice little finisher at the very end that raises a smile. Forza Motorsport 7 Demo The official demo for Forza Motorsport 7 is coming for both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. The demo features three unique racing experiences in Forza Motorsport 7, showcasing the depth and breadth of the experiences available in the game. Drive the Forza Motorsport 7 cover car – the Porsche 911 GT2 RS – to the brand-new Dubai circuit and experience the thrill of navigating the Jebel Hafeet Pass, one of the most famous driving roads in the world. Or, pilot the massive Mercedes-Benz Tankpool racing truck to victory at the high-speed Mugello circuit in Italy. The Need for Speed In Assetto Corsa Relive that classic The Need for Speed rivalry between the Ferrari 512 TR and the Lamborghini Diablo VT with this quality mod for Assetto Corsa (PC). Demonstrated beautifully by YouTuber GamerMuscleVideos as he takes both around the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, it is clear to see that both of these cars have drastically different handling characteristics: where the Ferrari is quite nimble and a handful, the Lamborghini lazily lumbers about, but is grippy to a point where its power can be be put down early to get a good run out of corners onto the faster sections. Even though the video is shown around a racing circuit, it is worth remembering that the game does have the road course layouts of 'Black Cat County' and 'Highlands' that will help even more in delivering that classic NFS vibe. Not to mention the extra locations that the modding community have created. With its extremely well-crafted car models, and physics and sounds getting good impressions, this user-created add-on is bringing a little bit of the old into the new, and that is something that will always be welcomed. Seeing these two brought up to date and racing one another invokes major feels, however it should be remembered that is where it ends as AC is a simulation, therefore the arcade madness play style of before, will not do your race hopes well at all. This pack includes both cars and race grid templates to be used in Content Manager for each car, so it loads the same opponents from the original game. Both cars can be found together under it's own brand, it's called "NFS Tournament Class A". The rear wing on the Diablo can be turned on and off from the Aero tab in the setup options. Fun Browser Based Car Games The great thing about today is that games can be played almost anywhere and this is no more known than in educational institutions and the workplace. Sneaking that moment of game time during class or while you are meant to be working is something we have all done, right? And with so many car games out there to waste the hours of the day with, just what is worth playing? Well there’s a lot, a hell of a lot in fact. Catering to all facets of driving subject, and with the power of Google you can find them all but what about the ones that are both fun and/or provide a challenge. They’re out there, I found some, and I am going to share them with you. My favourite of the moment is this retro-inspired top-down view monster truck racing game where the aim is to win the race and accumulate money, allowing for the purchase of better and faster vehicles, in order to be able to compete in the rest of the series, towards the goal of eventually winning it all. There are also achievements to be unlocked which surprised me, including a tricky one where you need to jump your vehicle through a ring-of-fire. We switch to a challenge next with a clever and quite taxing little TRON-esque puzzle game. This starts off very easy and actually lulls you into a false sense of security, convincing you that it is simple, but it quickly shows itself not to be the case. As you have to be quick with the fingers and watch your velocity, otherwise you will just end up on your roof or falling off the coloured path because you were too slow in changing the radioactive glow your cycle is currently emitting. It’s basic in its actions, but one that is sure to challenge you, your perceptions and your reactions. (you will literally get stuck at times!) Just because these are played in your browser doesn’t mean they are weak. Our last game requires your system to have a bit of muscle in order to get the best out of it. How does a mix between Destruction Derby and Twisted Metal sound to you? Well that’s what my last of this recommended trio of picks is. With a name like ‘Lethal Brutal Racing’ you know this is not going to be some typical from light-to-flag affair. Nope it’s a bit more angrier with lots of weapons, plenty of wrecks, and courses that have been designed to not only keep your eyes on those around you, but also what’s coming up next. And so, If you find yourself bored or needing to pass that bit of time before the school or work day ends, and your phone is off-limits, check these out. Who knows, they may even have you seeking out modern day equivalents because you enjoyed them so much.
