  1. I looked on Atari's website for the game today, and the PC Download seems to be available for purchase! (Previously, selecting PC Download redirected to the 360 version.) Still unsure about whether to buy it or not after all the negative press, though. Anyone here going to get it?
  2. Actually, I was under the impression it would be digital download only. Which would make the long delay even more puzzling.
  3. As the response to the console versions has been fairly poor, both critically and commercially, do you think we'll ever see the PC version? They may well have just abandoned the project altogether.
  4. @Diablo, as you might know, I replaced Tool831 as the Principal Administrator of TDU Forums. Tool831 gave me express instructions to never allow his modifications to be hosted elsewhere. In case you were wondering, Tool is no longer using any of his Tool831 accounts on any site, including his email address, and as of last month he was He was trying to distance himself from TDU modding entirely, and thus, the chances are that he wouldn't be aware of this thread. When he left, he passed on full responsibility for protecting his mods to me (and I can send the Staff Forum post from TDU Forums in which he did this to Diablo if he so wishes). This means that it is I who shall be giving consent as to where his mods may and may not be posted. I therefore request that the download link on the OP be removed immediately. I also respectfully ask of @Spiral that he delete the file from the external hosting website. I won't comment on punishment as that is a matter for TDU:C staff to consider. Anyhow, just in case it isn't already perfectly clear, Tool831's mods may not be uploaded anywhere except by Tool831 himself. As a matter of fact, he pulled all of his TDU2 mods from TDU Forums (the site where all his recent TDU1 mods are exclusively hosted) for fear of an occurrence like this, and will not allow them to be re-released. To be honest, I'm a tad disappointed that this wasn't removed earlier seeing as @Spiral said himself that he did not seek permission to post this mod, a requirement clearly stated in the mod's terms of use.
  5. OP, I think "anti-social behaviour" is the phrase you're looking for. Although I can't say I'm happy about half a million other players owning the same caravan as me... :P Sponge is absolutely right - I suppose I'm kinda the same. I treat TDU2 as a sandbox game, and I just want to drive around and explore stuff by myself without having to get my car dirty doing street races every five minutes. To me, the game is more of an Epic Citadel-like explore-and-observe game than any form of social media. If you're gonna hang out with friends, I prefer to actually do it in real life rather than walking around randomly as an awkward-looking CGI with weird eyes.
  6. Sounds like you've got a corrupted database. Run the database checker in TDUMT, and it should fix you up. ;)
  7. Am I still meant to be seeing an enormous blank television at the top of the page? I mean, it's a nice television, but it gives the site a rather unfinished look about it... :P And while I'm here, I might as well throw in my two cents about the new look. I'm a huge fan of clean squares and transparent backgrounds, so this design is fantastic in that regard. But the pixelated background ruins the minimalist look. An actual in-game image would be nice, actually - at least TDU2 would come to some use... ;)
  8. And at the moment, it seems like all modding development for TDU2 has pretty much come to a standstill. There are sticker mods, which can be used online without any issues, and we've figured out how to edit the physics files, but doing so gets you kicked out online. As for vehicle modding, people have exported all the exclusive cars out of TDU2 and modded them into other games, but nobody seems to care about modding into TDU2 - the file research thread on Xentax is now pretty much centred around discussion of how bad TDU2 is. And besides, the game needs to be unpacked in order to be modifiable, and I'm fairly sure that it can't be run unpacked if you have any patches installed, which means that if you're going to mod your game, you'll get all the release bugs with it, and you'll have to forgo the DLC content... :(
  9. Check that the file path is set to your TDU folder. ;) You should probably update to TDUPE 2.78, which is the newest version - you can get it at tdupe.com
  10. Tool's Stratos is over on tduforums.com, along with all the rest of his more recent mods. ;) Also, you can swap cars between garages by going to the List (inside the garage), right-click the car you want to move, and left-click the car you want to swap it with. All mine are arranged according to country too! :D
  11. Alrighty, how about stopping the "dog"-slapping right there? Since you've all had a go at TDU Forums, I believe I have the right of reply, so I hope you'll forgive me for continuing to take this thread off-topic. Let's clear some things up, shall we? First off, TDU Forums is temporarily down - there was a server glitch last month, and as @ZenLee said, Dredgy wasn't around to fix it. The site is not dead, and it should be back up quite soon. @TDUFREAK500, I believe you're mistaken. The administrative action you referred to happened because of a different matter entirely. This isn't the place to discuss that, though, and the staff at TDU Forums can clear it up with you there later if you wish. @Kurgan, I disagree with almost everything you said there. In fact, the word I'd use to describe much of your particular post would get me warning-points. :cheeky: Tool831 is still posting Shift mods at TDU Forums, and Dredgy also has no intention of closing the forum whatsoever. The forum's finances are also secure for the foreseeable future, just so you know - not that it's any of your business in the first place. ;) Also, I can assure you that your comment about our administrators is factually incorrect, and I don't know which of our two admins (Tool831 and myself) you could be referring to. I might also add that our staff are chosen with the utmost care, and all of our staff members are more than competent in their roles. Nobody, absolutely nobody, has ever been banned or issued warnings against for anything that did not contravene one of the rules, and all warnings are issued under the same disciplinary rubric, which is strictly adhered to by all staff. The only reason people might be banned "left and right", as you claim, would be because our staff have the utmost concern for eliminating spammers, trolls and other such undesirable characters from the forum, and are extremely efficient in doing so. @All posters here, again, I stress that this thread, or indeed any thread on this forum, is not in any way an appropriate place to discuss any other forum or forum member, particularly with the scorn which some of you have displayed. I politely request that you all have some respect for our fellow members of the TDU community, and keep such banter to yourselves. Tool831's been given something of a beating here, however, so in defence of him, I will say this. Tool is a great guy; he's given so much to the TDU community, and I'm surprised at the contemptible level of respect that he's shown in return. All his comments about others' work have good intentions, and I'd go so far as to suggest some people might have taken his constructive criticism a tad too sensitively and personally. In addition, Tool831 is as responsible, innovative and capable an administrator as I have ever seen. So, enough of the irrelevant gossip. I hope I've cleared up some of this melting-pot of erroneousness, and I'd request for this thread to be closed. Also, @OP, you'll get your 333SP when TDU Forums gets back up soon. ;)
  12. Nope, TDUForums ain't dead - just a server glitch that we can't fix until later this month. Epic job on the list, by the way. Love it! ;)
  13. @Elder_of_Lyons, may I ask what your PC specs are? I remember I always got a bad frame rate on my old PC with TDU1, and thought the driving physics were simply awful. But when I upgraded to my current PC, the physics suddenly improved along with the frame rate. That might be an explanation for the soggy cornering...
  14. @Ten, I can't say I completely agree with you there. While TDU physics weren't great, they weren't really that bad, either - the cars still had bite in their handling, and cornering was a good balance of sim and arcade. TDU2's developers have been talking for a while now about how they've built the driving physics from scratch for the new game so that they'll be better than the previous one. So, I suppose there is an element of expectation there, but it isn't expectation based on Gran Turismo or any other games. It is expectation which was built up by Eden/Atari staff themselves, who effectively promised a better, more realistic handling model on multiple occasions. We, as players, therefore should expect the developers to deliver on their promises. It's no doubt, then, that people are unhappy with the unrealistic, arcade, feel-lacking handling that has been delivered to us. I do hasten to add, however, that I haven't played the actual game yet, and all this is based on what I've seen in gameplay videos and heard from journos and other players who've got the game already.
  15. Hmm, $1 per car doesn't actually seem that bad after all. I was expecting it to be a lot more. But I still think we shouldn't have to buy them, anyway. All the cars should really be included in the off-the-shelf product. Buying every car as it comes out it pretty much equivelant to paying a subscription fee, and nobody likes that idea, do they? DLC cars are just a cheap marketing strategy, and IMO, the only excuse for them would be if a car is released (in the real world) after the game's release. I don't want to be paying $80 (which is fairly expensive for a PC game of this quality), and then spend an extra $50 or so on DLCs. That's what I call an outright con and ripoff.
  16. I must say I totally agree; if driving physics are as bad as people say they are, Eden have completely missed the point. Sure, the game is as much about the lifestyle as the driving experience, and I've got no problem with that whatsoever. But if the driving experience is compromised, Eden has effectively failed with half of the game. Not happy, Jan.
  17. @Ryzza5, it so happens that I'm both of those things... :P But yeah, I'm inclined to wait until Easter sales or something. I can get it online from Game for $60, though, so I'm considering that, too. Yeah, I'm not really a racing fan as such - I just want a realistic open world and realistic driving physics. I've always hated the NFS series, so I have a feeling I won't be liking TDU2 that much, either. Unless they add a hardcore mode or something, I'm sure I'll be constantly thinking of how Eden have totally wasted a perfect opportunity to make a perfect game whenever I'm playing it. :(
  18. Djey, thank you ever so much for all the wonderful work you've done with TDU! I can't believe you're still releasing updates! I don't know what we'd do without you. :D Also, (hope you don't mind if I go off-topic quickly...) Are we likely to see a TDU2 Modding Tools any time soon?
  19. Back on topic, does anyone think the game's even worth buying? I'm not sure whether to get it at release on Thursday or not, but my thoughts tend to the latter...
  20. Yep, it's right here in Sydney. In fact (I'll have to ask him to confirm) I believe it's on display in the Holden/Elfin showroom in St Leonards. Not absolutely sure of that, though.
  21. The Ferrari F-430 and Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder are my favourites by far - there's just grip, grip and more grip. And if I'm in a restless mood, they go sideways easily, too. ;) CLK-DTM is also good fun.
  22. I'm kinda lucky in that I see rather rare cars quite often in my area. Coming home from school today, I saw a V12 Vantage, Bentley Conti GT, C63 and S63 on the road. My school is extremely close to the local Aston, Bentley, Lotus and Rolls dealers, too, so I see rather a lot of them through their windows. I actually saw an Aston Martin Rapide being delivered to the showroom back before the release date. Best car I've ever seen on the road has got to be my friend's bright yellow Zonda S Roadster. Never seen a more eye-catching thing in my life!
