What's the correct way of getting a G27 to work correctly? I put the DLL in the game's root directory and launched the game. When setting controls (pedals, for example), it acts as though I'm pressing multiple keys simultaneously although if I don't press all the way, it will work correctly.

In Logitech profiler, tick the option for "Combined pedals". It's really annoying, I know. However, TDU is a really old game and doesn't allow for both inputs at the same time. It's probably a lot worse if you try to use a controller, so that's your silver lining with the G27. 😁

Hey, I tried to install your mod but it crashes the game when loading the main menu. Tried the textures and weather apart from each other, but they both crash. I'm using Project Paradise.

    Hey!

Could you give me a bit more detail - how exactly do you install the mod, what your specs are, etc. It seems weird that it would crash, did you try removing it completely to see if the game will run? Does it load the main menu completely or it crashes before it gives you the "Continue game" and the other buttons? Also, does it give out any error or just closes the game?

Maybe my public IP is shared not dedicated to my internet, so i can not open port for that IP, i tested if port is open using http://canyouseeme.org and i found no open port . When TDU1 online play was workling for me, i think i had different router and public IP, though same internet provider. I would bet that the TDU1 server does not require me to have open port. The server should just require some port is not blocked and i think i do not have it blocked. So i do not know what else to do to connect.

i am sure (On Linux, command to discover it is "ifconfig"), I tried to add public IP instead, but router software says IP is not valid, so i assume it supports only LAN IPs. I went ahead and connected the WAN cable from router directly to my PC and it also not helped, so the router is not the issue and i believe OS firewall neither (i stopped it: sudo ufw disable ; and "iptables -L" shows default policy is accept, not deny). I also tried to connect server via different IP (thanks to a VPN server), no luck either.

Jesus. I really don't know what else to suggest.

Maybe try the game on a friend's PC and go from there. If it works on their PC - see if it's their PC that's the difference or their internet. You could bring your PC to your friend's house (where TDU works) and see if it still works. You could at least narrow it down to your PC if it doesn't. But I'm really out of ideas, sorry. 😣 Hopefully someone more knowledgeable may help you.

EDIT: Yeah, it makes sense to be the local Ip address which you need. I would still make sure you're opening the port for the correct IP address though. Also, don't count on that website to tell you if TDU is going to work, it says it's closed for me but I've never had issues connecting.

@Magicv8 i tried to disable firewall, also checked the default firewall policy is accept not deny. So here i think OS firewall is not the problem. Regarding modem(router), i do not think it would block it, but i tried to add some rules: https://snag.gy/pa0Wy7.jpg (hopefully these are correct as i followed 2 tutorials on how to open port for my router) IP is my computer LAN IP.

    upnp is enabled on router...

i am on Linux atm and it continue to show message mentioned in my previous comment.

I guess it would be worth a shot to try adding lines with your external IP address as well.

Also are you 100% sure that your computer is 192.168.2.4? Because most people have DHCP enabled, which just gives each new connected device the first available IP address. This would mean that if today you connect your 2 phones and tablet and then you turn on your PC - your PC would get the 4th IP address, however if tomorrow you have nothing connected and you boot your PC - you'd get the first IP address.

You can check your local IP address by entering "ipconfig" in CMD. I don't know what the Linux alternative for that would be, you could google it though.

If your computer has a different IP address currently, try opening the port for that IP address first. If it doesn't work, try external IP address as well.

Does it need some patch like 1.66a or something like that in order to work or it can work also with a unpatched version of the game??? and is the original copy of the game absolutely necessary or I can also use a cracked version???

The game doesn't work on Windows 10 if it's not cracked, so you'd have to use a cracked version with Windows 10.

Could you also add this to the Downloads section of this website for others with beefy PC's?

I'm currently working on a new version, I may just add that one. Since I saw something Milli did that I was thinking of trying out and opened up a couple of opportunities, plus I'm working on some visibility improvements, so I can upload that when it's done.

    @Milli

Thank you so much for this release and ofc, everyone involved!

This will breath new life to a game I loved back when released. Thank you ALL of you!

    @umisery

While both of those mods work, the Hawaiian Bliss on shares the same files as the "HDU" mod (The one that increases draw distance.)

So, you won't be able to use that one.

If someone can unpack the Hawaiian Bliss and add the enhanced draw distance, it would be lovely. I don't have a minimum of a clue to unpack the BNK files to do it myself.

Hawaiian Bliss does include HD300. I could make you a version with HDU, however the game may become too heavy. I'm on a laptop with a 960m and HD300 is the maximum it can handle before dropping below 60 FPS. Either way, if you want to try HDU - tell me and I'll rar you a copy.

I do, that worked as well. Thanks very much!

Also wondering if I can install mods over Platinum or will they cause problems? Such as these:

Both should work fine. At least for the first one, I can confirm that it works.

i've been playing for a couple of minutes and i'm already loving how the game feels now, it's like a completely new game, i absolutely love it, i just created this account a couple of months ago to follow the progress, i'm in love with the retrowave radio station, the only problem i've experienced is the alt+tab bug, but that's been a problem since UCP if i recall correctly, but other than that, it's simply perfect, it's great to see people making this kind of work for free, thank's milli, i'm in love with the game again like i was when i first played

As @Tadpole said, pausing helps. I've also noticed that it's usually when there are other players connected to you when it bugs, so there's a lower chance of breaking if you're in a menu or paused. However, it's not a guarantee. You may get unlucky. 😁

Edit: Fixed! Disabled compatibility mode and everything works perfectly now 😄

Reinstalled - now game doesn't start with d3d9.dll in the game folder  🤔

Do you have MSI Afterburner running? Any overlay display may create issues with d3d9 injections. Try closing them.

If it works without MSI Afterburner running, go to "Riva Tuner" (it's in your bar next to the clock while MSI Afterburner is running). There's an option in there called "Custom Direct3D Support", see if it works after enabling it.

Hey there, first time posting here now that this mod is released. I've been following the development for a long time, just wanted to say thank you for improving this game so much. It works nicely 🙂 It crashed once, when I completed a race and I wasn't able to continue or click anything, but it saved my progress when I quit the game so no biggie.

One problem I'm still having though are invisible cars on the road. That happens in modded and un-modded version of the game. Randomly crashing into a car that's not showing up. Is this because of No-CD executable I'm using? Mind you, I do have original copy of the game for more than 10 years now, but I had to copy install files from CD to external hard drive because my new laptop does not have DVD drive and I have no other choice to play the game but to use cracked executable. In the past I just deleted "traffic" map from the game folder but that becomes boring very quickly, cuz apart from NPC's driving their cars around there's nothing anywhere. Also, is there a possibility for me to try multiplayer? I'm fine with singleplayer but I've never played this game online and I kinda want to see how it is

So thanks again 🙂 And if you know a solution to my problem also thanks in advance!

Limit your FPS to 60. You can do that by enabling V-Sync in the Project Paradise launcher.

Traffic goes crazy in this game if FPS is above 60. It seems like they made calculations rely on frames, not time. Therefore, game runs differently on different systems. Try the 60 FPS limit, it fixed it for me.

That's great to hear, as i did 0 testing on a keyboard, all the physics have been developed using my DS3 controller, so, i'd say it is much more complete if you can modulate your throttle and steering input. 😅

And the domes are not much of a big deal, photoshop, and .dds files, in the ARGB8888 format, if i am not wrong. With no mipmaps. By the way, the issues with the sky is in Platinum, or your own personal project?

Nah, not your project. I just have issues because the domes are usually specific colors which are very hard to manipulate. For instance, if you want a purple sky with some orange at the bottom, you can't do that. That's because to make a purple sky, you remove a lot of green and red. And when you remove the red color, the orange part disappears. I thought of doing it like you did, but never got around to it. I'll try to see if I can make some better looking combinations this way, tbh it should open up a lot of opportunities. 😄

And yeah, so far I love how the cars handle. Great job! 😊😊

  13. I haven't tried it with a wheel yet, but the new physics are pretty great with a keyboard. Definitely better than UCP. I'll see if I get a chance to plug in the wheel one of these days to see how that plays.

Also, what you've done with the domes is something I've been thinking about for a very long time, but never got around to trying out. If I get some time, I may capitalise and do something similar, would prevent a lot of the issues I'm currently dealing with in terms of the sky at least. 😄

then explain why people mod GTA San Andreas which is like 15 years old now?

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to do. Are you picking on TDU modders for leaving?

People do this as a hobby, they want to make a car and they do so. They share it with the community so they can make people like us happy.

It is a LOT of work to do that and the work itself is not fun, I can assure you that. The end result is the main driving force.

When a modder has gotten bored of a game and doesn't have the motivation to do a mod for it, why should he do that?

Also, keep in mind that TDU has very few active people anymore. And if you put on 50 or 100 hours of work into a mod and put it online just to get a single reply, it is underwhelming. You are very proud of the work you've done and you want to see that people have enjoyed that and that it was worth investing those hours. If you don't get anything in return, you will lose interest in doing the work as well.

GTA San Andreas on the other hand has a huge player base to this day. If you were to make a good mod for GTA SA, you'd get thousands of downloads and hundreds of comments. Therefore, you'd be very happy yourself, because you know you've made so many other people happy.
