For now, the code won't be released. Why? Because there isn't really a huge interest in creating different servers (as you know the server is only a relay).
And yes, the server isn't that user friendly (most of the options would require the user to modify the code and it also require a specific gamespy setup). However if we ever close the server the code will be released.
 
For now, the player session were limited to 8 players (since as I said the aim was to test the server performances) but the session can be bigger (if it works); just need to test that for the next test (we'll have to add more player to test obviously, so no need to PM me to get in :D).

Wanted: (dead or alive, alive would be better :D) 5 testers to test the current Test Drive Server!
 
The aim of the session is to test the server performance, so all you'll have to do is to drive in freeride.
If you're interested, simply post here, only the first users to reply will get in (but we'll add more and more players if the server doesn't crash :p ).

My theory about great carmakers:
It was always a single man who wanted to build the best cars he could imagine. Examples could be Lotus Elan, Ferrari 250 GTO, Jaguar XK120, Bentley 4 1/2 Litre, Lamborghini Miura as results of the vision of Colin Chapman, Enzo Ferrari, Sir William Lyons, Walter Owen Bentley or Ferruccio Lamborghini.
Those men lost control, either due to age of financial crisis.
Others took over, which built different cars, which weren't true Lotus, Ferrari, Jaguar, Bentley, Lamborghini, or whatever.
Even though I adore the past of those carmakers (and I absolutely love everything Jaguar did until 2008 with the exception from X-Type Estate Diesel), I think the true greatness of today is to be found at Pagani. Horacio Pagani did, does, and - hopefully - will built "his" cars.

Agree, because I have a Laptop too
I'm just hoping for an improved optimization, nothing more :nods:

- map: astonishing
- graphics and sound: great
- handling: good (strange when driving fast in a straight line)
- multiplayer: buggy (closed beta)
- story: ok (very hard to earn money)
- performance: terrible (no way of running it at lowest settings in HD @ locked 30 FPS with my good laptop - car-speed determined by FPS)
 
I expected it to be great, and it is. The terrible PC-performance has to be sorted out before I buy it though!

A question:
There is a slot for an XJ220 in TDU2 already - a "car" (the green Lancia of course), which you can cheat. Is there a way to put this car (XJ220) in the slot of the XJ220 (e. g. by renaming)?
