    Hey.
V-Rent can't be converted for now, as it need more a single database update to fool the game about them. There must be some kind of spots database hanging around :)

Anyway, beta 6 is coming, allowing by default 10 rim sets per TDUCP slot. I dunno if the game can handle such a large database :D
But I guess it'd better if we let people enable them via TDUF Database Editor. What do you all think ?

As TDU is flooded with half finished mods at the moment, I really consider to make some non-forza mods for you soon. List would be on hold (not only for the fact I actually got barely time for modding). E46 will be finished most likely, but as I got finals at the moment, I don't exactly know when I'm going to take on modding again.

This is what I am playing around with at the moment.

Cheating is not a real issue with TDU anymore, online races are not possible. Moreover, trainers and mods already exist to earn much money. So if anyone wants zillion bucks, who cares now ?
Anyway, the objective is to bring ever missing vehicle customization features:

Rim shop : select other rim set or fix missing set
Interior colors : select over available liveries from the vehicle
Garage layout : sort/move cars between houses
    ...

(motor)bike! You'll discover at release time. But I guess old members already know what I'm thinking about :)

Same with an answer @ about 8.00am (GMT+1)

It was working before migration I believe.
... or some of oldest forum sections have been muted since ? :D

This car is a mash up. A non-AMG, facelift W211 body (they went out of production in 2009...) with a W212 interior (how did you get it to fit). And that facelift W211 was only available as E63 AMG, not as E55. And the W212 was only E63 or E63 S.

It's nothing to do with not liking, it's all to do with just making sure you are not using the work of others if they don't permit it is all. If the mod author says you can reuse their work then by all means go ahead, but if they say otherwise, then sorry you'll need to find another or do the extraction and fitting work yourself.

This is true and that is why modding is such a grey area. The fact these companies don't come after modders or ask for their stuff to be removed is not a testament that they allow this, in fact as we have been told ourselves directly: it is more a "turning a blind eye" to it.

If there's one thing we've found throughout the years of Modding, it's that a locked or closed model can still be gotten to (maybe newer software has changed this I don't know). It's why we have implemented different rules over the years that were not there before. And sure you can convert all the models you like, but this community like most on the internet, is a privately run and owned establishment and our rules prohibit these types of mods from being posted and that takes precedence.

You are absolutely right. This is a legal grey area as I said, and it's completely in the rights of companies to go after those who extract and convert their intellectual rights from games by way of modding, but a number of them don't. And those modders who do the work of making the models and elements 'fit for purpose' also have a right of their work not being taken too. It's not a legal or copyright thing, just a sign of respect is all.

As I've already said: you can do what you want with what is available to you and post them as you see fit on the places that allow it, but our stance is, to respect the work of the original, in whatever form it comes about. If you cannot abide by this or don't feel it's right in your opinion then I am sorry to hear that.

According to that creator's website the use of his mods is not allowed and the linking of them is only permitted on certain listed sites.

We specify that the credits for the mod, model and its elements must be stated and that permission is sought if required to try and avoid these instances arising - if you don't have these don't post your mod here.

Due to this and some other occurrences of recent it seems we need to lock down the rules for the posting of mods even more and enforce the proper use of the Mod Posting Template as some of the message still isn't getting through and isn't making us look good.
