I'm doing it the proper way by cutting out the rusty parts and welding in new parts. So far the metal/panel list is at about £550 and that's with a 10% discount. :eek: No doubt the further I get into striping the car the more rust and bodge jobs I'll find.
 
New back brake assemblies are just over £100 for a pair. New rubber seals will go over £100 I'm sure. A kit with 3000+ set screws, bolts, nuts etc. for £250. Then there's the paint which is being done by a family friend so not sure how much that'll cost. The interior will be expensive to get it how I want it but that's mostly going to wait until it's back on the road and I'm out of my overdraft. :lol:
 
Plus and £1000 to £2000 on other parts that need fixing replacing. But it should be in almost perfect condition when it's done and I don't plan on selling it ever so I'm not bothered about resale value. Just as long as I can get a decent agreed valuation from my insurer incase anything happens to it.

Had a few more hours on it today. Took off all the lights, both bumpers, horn, bonnet lock, some wiring, boot hinges and straps, air vents, 1 wheel arch(the others have knackered bolt things), lots of rust, bits of trim and various other things.

Some parts are very rusted and other parts are in brilliant condition. Don't really understand why.

I also want to find a small clock in the same style along with either a voltmeter, oil temperature or water temperature gauge.

Doesn't matter what they do really, it'll still be (one of) the best programs on TV.
 
Saying that I am a fan of The Call Centre at the moment, but everyone else finds it cringe-worthy or rubbish, each to their own. I probably like it as it's sort of like my job I suppose :p

Cold start that sounded really rough. The exhaust was full of rain water and the tappets need setting again. I think I knocked the dizzy too which means the timing is out causing engine knocking and the breather hose also split making it run without a vacuum and also a bit leaner.. >.< But it runs!
