>>>Can I slow down though<<< Only in the first two sectors. I'd only do it if there was a sufficient gap behind to the next person though.
-
Yeah it's a known "feature" - it'll be looked at. Here's the next video: I didn't realise that Adam had caught back up to me until I looked behind at the end of Lap 5 and got a bit of a fright
-
Ozzmcom says I used him as my brakes. I say he braked too much. It was a good race :)
-
Didn't you get any good clean laps in last night Adam? Milan GP - GUMPERT apollo S

I thought the second formation lap practice went fairly well. Just remember: Only the lead car sets the 100kph pace - if other cars need to catch up they can In the first 2 sectors, leave plenty of room, you don't have to be bunched up. This will prevent collisions. If you drive with the HUD off, make sure you know where T2 is on the track map (beginning of Sector 3) In Sector 3, cease swerving and line up close behind the next car (within 5 car gaps). Odd numbered positions pick the inside line for Turn 1, even numbers have the outside line. Don't drive in the middle of the track, should be a decent gap between you and the person next to you. If you do stuff up in your formation lap and go off track or spin out, don't expect to get your position back. Each team will pick a livery, and each driver a car number from that livery, which they keep for the season. I haven't announced this yet since we don't know if the Gumpert or Jaaaag will win. If it's the Gumpert I'm reserving Beran #7. :)

I thought you had a Targa

I've got a Logitech G700 which is great for my needs. I don't do FPS games though

What's this? A DSG entry thread created on a Sunday? Well I never. Yes that's right folks give your congratulations to Clarence and get your virtual cameras out for this weeks competition. * Stick to the implied theme (don't look for technical loopholes) * Images must not exceed 5MB, and be at least 990px wide by 340px tall. * Each person who enters must cast a vote in the same week to remain eligible. You may not vote for yourself. * Winning image must not be of TDU2 as you risk account suspension. * Winner picks the next theme, unless winning consecutively, in which case the runner up decides. * Winner has 48h to PM a new theme to me or another member of staff if I'm away, if they fail to meet this then the theme will be a free round. * Competition is limited to games on all platforms of any age that are classified as driving/racing games. (i.e. FPS games that have cars in them wouldn't be eligible). Please mention what game your screenshot is from. * Minor non-enhancing editing permitted (cropping, addition of your name, etc) is permitted, as long as the actual screenshot isn't tampered with. Just like all these other comps. Week 29: Any Ferrari from 1980-1999 Please don't link small images to larger ones - just post the large one here!

:cya: Ozz seemed pretty interested in seeing a video of this race, so I uploaded it overnight (and the following morning), the others will go up on Monday

Remap doesn't kill the clutch, depends on how you drive it after you remap it ;)
-
Watching the replay of the Gumpert race I didn't realise when you caught up to me (was held up behind someone else) - only when I looked back on Lap 6 did I realise you were right behind me. :) Will get the videos up next week.
-
If the Gumpert had a mirror instead of a camera on the passenger side that you can't see (pending TrackIR support) I'd go fo rit, guess we'll be using the Jaaaaag. I just wish it had headlights and the seating position/steering wheel was centered. Great racing Ozz and Adam.

I know, but cars haven't been optimised to be competitive with other cars yet, so I don't want one team winning all the time because they've got the better car. Unrealistic but I also thought about each team mate having a different car.
-
Not a PC port, it's developed on PC (what else would they have been developing on since 2007 when the new dev consoles are only just becoming available now)? It'll be a great time to be a PC gamer next year.

lol, I don't think the teams thing will be much more than a fun experiment, given that there will probably be races where your team mate is absent. As much as I'd like to use the RUF, I don't think we will given there are no low-LODs for it (the car disappears and you only see the tires). Tonight, if I'm home, I'll setup some practice races at Nurburgring GP and we'll try a few other cars, and we'll all use the same ones. We might end up using the Gumpert Apollo, since it (1) has good driving feeling, (2) hasn't been used much in existing leagues as far as I can tell, and (3) the interior looks awesome following a recent request by Andy to polish it up to compare with Assetto Corsa PR screenshots. We'll also try the SLS and and Ford Capri, I think. btw can someone convince gsto to join? :) MaroonStigJLR would have joined but he only has Junior monthly builds and can't play online (due to version mismatch)

Updated the first post Thinking of trying using either the SLS, Gumpert, or Ford Capri - will try these out tomorrow Also think about picking a team-mate. I've got Andrius :)
-
Ok after tonight I'm leaning toward just driving the RUF RGT-8's only (maybe except for Andrius, lol, give him the SLS). So it'll be more like a Carrera Cup. Only thing I don't like is the half-finished interior and missing car LODS - would ruin the point of filming it for a start. Plus no liveries so we'd just be choosing car colours. Maybe tomorrow we'll ditch the RUF and SLS and try some of the other cars, possibly a BMW or Ford Capri... Anyway here were the results of my quick hotlaps around Anhalt Short to try to work out which cars were similar: 1:11 - Ford Mustang Shelby Boss 1:10 - Mercedes Benz SLS AMG 1:09 - RUF RGT-8 1:09 - BMW M3 GT4 1:09 - Pagani Huyra 1:07 - Gumpert Apollo 1:07 - Ford GT40 1:06 - Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3 1:05 - BMW M3 GT3 1:05 - BMW M1 1:03 - BMW Z4 GT3 1:03 - Asano Touring Car Of course you may get better times than these, but hopefully it gives an idea about what would be competitive with what... Worth noting the Apollo looked sweet in dashboard cam and was quite fun to drive, The M3's are fairly easy to drive and have liveries, so sound like an obvious choice, but they've been done loads of times before by others, and tend to bring out bad driving since they feel so stable, so people push too far to an arcade level.
