  1. Given how much of a faff it was to take it might be my only nice singular photo. ;) Thanks 4 tips, I figured out the progress bar (Nice alternative to GT5's method), Is there any way to remove your username from the video replay?
  2. There were plenty of empty lanes on the left.... oh wait that's not Australia
  3. Here's the latest Veed Update German paper says Volkswagen will likely buy 115,000 cars back from US owners | Ars Technica
  4. I hope you enjoy this photo that I took in DRIVECLUB. It's actually a screenshot from a video recording as there appears to be no 'Take Photo' button in the UI. (In hindsight I guess you press the Share button on the controller).
  5. Obviously the best song/album was Hello by whatshername, amirite Mike? :hi5: Yeah I'm not really good at this pop culture stuff. Although if I hear Sia screeching on about how she is alive (barely, by the sounds of it) one more time I'll flush the radio down the toilet at work. My SoundHound history isn't helping either as I've only searched for one song last year on this phone and it's from 2009. --- Just did a search for 'best songs of 2015', this was in the list, and since it was stuck in my head for a little while I'll go with that: I caught with quite a few movies while jobless this year but I fear most of them were from 2014. So I'll play it safe and go Furious 7. RIP. Who buys albums anymore?
  6. This is true. Very true. (Imagine all the extra ads to write though!) The other side of the coin is that if I wear a little of the cost it makes the car easier to shift despite it's age and mileage - stands out more. Or at least makes up for things like stone chips.
  7. I'm tempted to write my own car ad... but every time I get into mine I think... I really like this car. To me, it's worth a lot more than what I could sell it for. I just worry that it might go bang one day. At least if I do decide to sell I'm safe in the knowledge that we could come up with a real funny one.
  8. I thought this thread was to list what people have resolved to do, not just what their goals are. I'd like to spend less time here (on a PC) but if I were resolved to do it then you might never see me again.
  9. Just keep practicing on the tarmac first, ok?
  10. I think if you were actually playing on that monitor you'd have the seat closer to the steering wheel (or FOV adjusted), so it's partially a marketing trick. Of course, I'd like to get an ultrawide as well, but I guess I'll wait and see if VR compensates enough.
  11. Not much in the way of an Oculus press conference video on YouTube. I was expecting the unit to cost about the same or more than a console, and at $599 US + shipping, it certainly does. Will be closer to $800 here it seems. I was expecting the number of preorders to be pretty high, and they have been What I was not expecting is for all the Q1 allocations to be sold out. Current preorders have an estimated shipping date of May 2016. I've preordered anyway since no funds are taken until the unit ships, so I can jump out of the queue if I change my mind.
  12. Thanks Mike, appreciate it. Highlights from the Intel presentation
  13. Somewhere in Holland, an older, richer version of calster just became very excited
  14. Want to know what's happening? Read the full schedule here: Full Schedule - CES 2016 Want to know what's happening even fasterer? Read this brief article on the homepage: Consumer Electronics Show 2016 | turboduck Rather watch a video? Well, ok then: Want to leave this page without posting a comment? :ban:
  15. What to Expect CES 2016 is ramping up again with its formal start date penned in for tomorrow (Wednesday 6 January). I've been looking through the schedule and the following themes are the main stand-out: So, what's happening this year? Automotive Electric vehicles, such as the Faraday concept EV pictured above. A keynote from VW on their new electric drivetrains is also scheduled. Car infotainment systems, such as BMW's advanced gesture interface Self-driving advancements Displays Smart TVs - new software running on faster processors featuring universal remote controls and 4K/8K panels Gaming Monitors - new ultra-wide variants with high refresh rates and variable V-Sync Internet of Things (IoT) Expect announcements from Samsung about their foray into the world of IoT. Control your Samsung Smart Things (yes, that's a thing) from your Samsung Smart TV, Smart Phone, or maybe even Smart Watch. Virtual Reality Oculus Rift announcements - pre-orders begin tomorrow. Inclusion of 2 free games (Lucky's Tail and EVE: Valkyrie) and the Xbox One gamepad for Windows. Expect final price and availability date announcements. Price is expected to be north of $350 U.S. HTC have teased a "breakthrough" for their Vive headset, which is the reason for its delayed launch. It was previously announced to be available from December 2015. PlayStation VR has been spotted. It includes an external unit not quite as large as a Nintendo Wii that no doubt includes extra processing horsepower to achieve the required framerates for VR. Announcements from games that are VR-ready for launch. Ian Bell from Slightly Mad Studios has hinted at some new exposure here. Want to view and join in the discussion? We've got forums for just that very purpose!
  16. Might be the different culture up the top in Japan.
  17. At least you'll qualify for whatever peace-offering they give us
  18. Or be prepared to turn graphics down low to boost FPS. From what I've heard, a lot of the fancy graphics eye candy is quite unnecessary and can even reduce immersion.
  19. Preorders go live on Jan 6, which is the day that P.L. has the CES stage. You get two free games. An Xbox One controller for PC. The OR hand controllers are delayed to the second half of 2016. Project CARS and other sims have Rift support, so if you have a steering wheel, this should be pretty good. Assuming your PC is fast enough. Blog — Oculus Rift Pre-Orders to Open on January 6 Wait for nVidia's next graphics card lineup around May/June this year if you plan to upgrade.
  20. There are plenty of older sims available on PC at cheap prices, with decent graphics + physics, and hundreds/thousands of free mods (cars/tracks). You'll appreciate how much of an improvement pCARS and AC are when you finally do get around to them. Check out GT Legends, GTR2, and Race Pro. All from the previous decade. Then visit NoGripRacing :: Home for mods. It's the last day of the Steam Winter Sale - best time to buy! Project CARS is 60% off.
  21. Welcome Niko. I'm sure many would be interested in seeing photos of your setup as you improve it. Which racing games/sims are you playing on PC?
  22. Have a look at Sena Official Website: Global Leader in Bluetooth Innovation Jacob, see if anything there grabs your fancy. I have the 20S and Prism camera. Click the bike in my signature for videos.
  23. Does the wide air intake assist with brake cooling on some cars? On the Golf (which looks ok (but not desirable) to me), the top small grill feeds the Cold Air Intake via the air filter. The bottom one is for the intercooler and air conditioning compressor. Bentley looks pretty bad [in that colour].
