  2. What to Expect CES 2016 is ramping up again with its formal start date penned in for tomorrow (Wednesday 6 January). I've been looking through the schedule and the following themes are the main stand-out: So, what's happening this year? Automotive Electric vehicles, such as the Faraday concept EV pictured above. A keynote from VW on their new electric drivetrains is also scheduled. Car infotainment systems, such as BMW's advanced gesture interface Self-driving advancements Displays Smart TVs - new software running on faster processors featuring universal remote controls and 4K/8K panels Gaming Monitors - new ultra-wide variants with high refresh rates and variable V-Sync Internet of Things (IoT) Expect announcements from Samsung about their foray into the world of IoT. Control your Samsung Smart Things (yes, that's a thing) from your Samsung Smart TV, Smart Phone, or maybe even Smart Watch. Virtual Reality Oculus Rift announcements - pre-orders begin tomorrow. Inclusion of 2 free games (Lucky's Tail and EVE: Valkyrie) and the Xbox One gamepad for Windows. Expect final price and availability date announcements. Price is expected to be north of $350 U.S. HTC have teased a "breakthrough" for their Vive headset, which is the reason for its delayed launch. It was previously announced to be available from December 2015. PlayStation VR has been spotted. It includes an external unit not quite as large as a Nintendo Wii that no doubt includes extra processing horsepower to achieve the required framerates for VR. Announcements from games that are VR-ready for launch. Ian Bell from Slightly Mad Studios has hinted at some new exposure here. Want to view and join in the discussion? We've got forums for just that very purpose!
  3. Might be the different culture up the top in Japan.
  4. At least you'll qualify for whatever peace-offering they give us
  5. Or be prepared to turn graphics down low to boost FPS. From what I've heard, a lot of the fancy graphics eye candy is quite unnecessary and can even reduce immersion.
  6. Preorders go live on Jan 6, which is the day that P.L. has the CES stage. You get two free games. An Xbox One controller for PC. The OR hand controllers are delayed to the second half of 2016. Project CARS and other sims have Rift support, so if you have a steering wheel, this should be pretty good. Assuming your PC is fast enough. Blog — Oculus Rift Pre-Orders to Open on January 6 Wait for nVidia's next graphics card lineup around May/June this year if you plan to upgrade.
  7. There are plenty of older sims available on PC at cheap prices, with decent graphics + physics, and hundreds/thousands of free mods (cars/tracks). You'll appreciate how much of an improvement pCARS and AC are when you finally do get around to them. Check out GT Legends, GTR2, and Race Pro. All from the previous decade. Then visit NoGripRacing :: Home for mods. It's the last day of the Steam Winter Sale - best time to buy! Project CARS is 60% off.
  8. Looks very tidy for its age.
  9. Welcome Niko. I'm sure many would be interested in seeing photos of your setup as you improve it. Which racing games/sims are you playing on PC?
  10. Have a look at Sena Official Website: Global Leader in Bluetooth Innovation Jacob, see if anything there grabs your fancy. I have the 20S and Prism camera. Click the bike in my signature for videos.
  11. Yes you do. Of lavender. Glamorous. :)
  12. Does the wide air intake assist with brake cooling on some cars? On the Golf (which looks ok (but not desirable) to me), the top small grill feeds the Cold Air Intake via the air filter. The bottom one is for the intercooler and air conditioning compressor. Bentley looks pretty bad [in that colour].
  13. So have you removed those nails now camel?
  14. Nice car, neat mods, cool bike. Let's see a riding video from you...
  15. Hmm I don't mind the Volvo either from those pics. It has that understanded 'Golf' quality but probably is more premium, which I guess makes it a quirky Audi alternative. (It would have to be for the price).
  16. GoPro have celebrated what some have been up to these past 12 months... y'know, just the usual GoPro stuff - driving, riding, surfing, falling (with style), etc etc So now, what are some of the biggest (positive) things that you got up in the past 12 months. You must have been out and about quite a bit, because you certainly weren't posting that much over here :nnnn: My 2015: Purchased a new motorcycle End of an 8 year job Involved in the launch of Project CARS Made an official pCARS forum moderator Learned C# and ASP.NET and launched my first web app which I still use Uploaded my first video with me talking in it Was a live audio mixer for a large event New job Been on some great rides with friends Witnessed Scott explode... repeatedly So what about you?
  17. The only issue is that only muppets can use it
  18. I was actually searching for the first/last time Diablo mentioned the word "cull"
  19. Baldy!
  20. I'm just impressed he knew that fact. I didn't.
  21. You must be nearly 30 by now
  22. I wonder if it's safe for the Camels to visit now... :hmmm:
  23. Confusing reading "next year" over here.
  24. Great to have you along. TDU1 fans are the best kind of fans around here.
  25. Unless said VM has direct access to your graphics card (which means the host OS is using another GPU) then Direct3D games aren't really going to work (unless they're really old and/or have Software Rendering).
