It always puzzled me how DiRT 2 had some pretty good wheel feel but DiRT 3 and DiRT Showdown managed to feel quite awful, to the point of making the game unplayable. While that did also come across in DiRT Rally that's all set to be resolved now. If you are a casual player, there's no need to perform any steps, just let the patch install and you'll be good to go and enjoy that new FFB. Codemaster recommend upping your rotation from 270 to 540 degrees to avoid snappy steering. If you're a simulation enthusiast, you will want to take a look at the new Controller Options UI. Ensure you have the latest drivers and software for your wheel, and set the rotation as high as possible, and disable centering spring. Each car now has its own individual steering lock parameters built in, similar to Project CARS. This they call 'soft lock', and if you don't like it, you can turn it off. You can see what values each car has been assigned below. To go along with this, the developers have listened and implemented a wheel calibration screen just like you find in other PC Sims. :yay: No more trying to guess what linearity setting to use. Just hold the wheel at 90 degrees and everything is calculated for you. Make sure you complete this after installing the patch. You can also save multiple wheel configurations and share them with others in the form of .xml files. Indeed. I've watched all of the TG USA episodes for example, the first season and a half was pretty cringeworthy as they tried to fill the mold of the UK show. I stuck with it as the UK show wasn't that great in its first season either so they deserved the chance in my books. Eventually they started doing their own format and their own thing, and I enjoyed it quite a bit more. If you endlessly compare them then you miss the point, and potentially another good car show. Go watch the latest season if you haven't already. Often they'd just spend the first 80% of the show doing some challenge, and then the winner got to review a cool car as reward.

Looks like a boring Jetta in the second picture, but they've already updated that one. But the front grille looks big for a VW - maybe it's a new R version of the Passat?

So Ozz really wants to see some footage of the new bike. I've got a half decent recording setup now. I was thinking of doing a few nice driving roads as a sort-of 'tourist' or 'road ranking' style. In which case, are there any areas or roads near Melbourne you would like to see in particular? Google Maps Try switching to satellite view. Create a route or just place a pin and send the link back to me via PM. I'll see which ones are feasible. Keep in mind it is currently snow season at the various mountain resorts.

Good addition, but did they have to announce it sooo early (read:make people wait so long for it). I'd pay $10 or maybe $15 for it, but I fear they'll be asking more.

It certainly looks amazing. Love their rain effect on the glass. The cockpit view camera/physics seemed a little odd at the end of the video though. Maybe it's related to their being able to offer split screen, which these days is a huge +rep.

The X360 pad still does the job well enough for me (on PC) for the moment. Doesn't get used a whole lot. I won't buy any upgrades in case I end up getting a Rift (with a 'free' one).

'Working for free' to appease the haters, I suspect. If it's under the old contract then 'paid in advance' comes to mind.

That's half the problem. As long as it's profitable the big wigs probably see no reason to change anything. It's way too corporate and they couldn't give a racoons backside what others think. I'd rather watch a bunch of amateurs racing Formula Ford.

So just get Red Bull, Mercedes, Lotus, Renault, etc to plan entries for the WEC and kill the sport that way.

Shame they had that incident which resulted in a penalty, would have kept the race much more hot. They should have a joker entry where some random dude turns up in his completely normal non-sporty car and see how many non-finishing teams he can beat (while hopefully not being rear ended by a 300kph LMP1).

GT Pro Leader #99 Aston in garage changing brake pads ... and then takes out the 2nd place LMP2 (#46 Oreca) car at the first chicane. Corvette now leading class. Meanwhile the #96 Aston spun out further up the track on its own, narrowly missing collection from other cars, and Ligier #26 deemed to have had unsafe return to track by spraying gravel on track

My PC doesn't have enough spare RAM to watch anything over 1080p at a medium bitrate (tried putting 8GB in it once but it didn't boot).

To be fair, all we expected is what they advertised, and have yet to deliver (i.e amazing track creator)
