  1. Instead of manning up and taking a ~40 second penalty that'll send me from 2nd to 10th/16 for Race 1 I thought I'd make a thread here for a little bit of fun and creativity (I'll probably get the penalty regardless) :) So I'm the black Alfa, and in the first corner of the first race, I've bumped into the blue Alfa (Rod) and he's gone off the road, only to rejoin the track in 13th (but ended up catching up and finishing 3rd right behind me). The grey car on the left (Gastro) started to cut in front and then braked early, which made me unbalance the car while avoiding him which sent me off into the blue car (Rod). You can see the G-force meter move slightly where I was originally going to turn in before aborting that - to be honest I probably would've been better off just ramming the grey car :p So let's hear your best racing driver excuses below after considering the evidence :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-c6Zjtp8vg -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) --
  2. So I drop my car off to get my DSG tune reloaded after the recent recall, and the guy says he's a bit busy and that I should take the courtesy car out for about an hour... More laggy at low revs compared to my car (due to no supercharger and a stiff accelerator pedal), but the moment the turbo spools up it's a 400HP rollercoaster. Felt very 'racecar-ry' inside with stiff suspension, wide low profile tyres, a couple of squeaks, etc which was a little weird given how familiar the rest of the car is. And I've never felt so conspicuous before when getting out of that car to grab some lunch down the road. The car wasn't warmed up and the speed limit was only 80kph so I didn't really get to play with it.
  3. Well to be fair the sound is less important in 'normal' cars compared to what typically makes its way into a racing game  Also in a game there's no g-forces which means your other senses need to be a bit more heightened
  4. Hi khev. I don't think I'll be logging in much over the next couple of months - if you don't want to keep paying for the server I don't mind you stopping it. Maybe look into temporary hosting one on one of our own PC's for the odd adventure map or setup a day where we all join a public minigame server.
  5. Saw the iconic blue Nissan R34 lined up next to an orange WRX STi at the traffic lights.... in the middle of the city where there's a 40kph speed limit :p
  6. Granted the DLC cars in GT5 sounded better (usually with stock exhausts though) but how long is it going to take them to update sounds for 100 cars? Or even 300 of them?
  7. O'ahu map is much higher quality and more dense. I can't check the exact size of ETS2 atm but it's not that big. Maybe 1.5GB. Check the demo download size from their website, that's just about it.
  8. If you look at the Post ID in the URL, does that mean we've deleted ~22,300 bad posts?
  9. Here are the forum spammers to thank for this achievement: Amazing how many older members are still high on that list compared to our currently-active members.
  10. Good one guys, now we have to reset it back to 0
  11. 1 hour in game (as far as ETA goes) is roughly 3 minutes of real life time at motorway speeds. So a 10 hour in-game trip takes 30 minutes, etc. That last trip from France to Africa took me about an hour.
  12. Welcome to the forums. As already mentioned, we don't permit swearing here (includes invoking the censor). :)
  13. Africa was quite nice (did a section of it last night). The scenery may be similar for some places but there are new items as well, and the more roads the better. There are of course other maps that change the scenery more drastically (such as the Winter edition or the America or Brazil mods)
  14. Maximum fart speed of 100kph perhaps :hmmm: I was 'unlocking' all the other roads up north in a bit of a hurry with low visibility, but then had to jump to my garage after a little incident. Took a job from Zurich to Marseille (south-coast of France), and then another one from there to Africa last night Africa (you wouldn't be able to tell I was in a different place if I didn't write it here): :p
  15. Awww, it wasn't meant to be. I thought the worldwide joke is that everyone who gets this game would magically disappear for a few weeks (in which case it probably wouldn't matter if the forum went down then as I'd have no-one to talk to anyway)
  16. Well let's hope the forums don't go down when you get your copy :cheeky:
  17. Shame we don't see David (LeadfootYT) around here much these days Shame the car didn't sound anything like this in TDU1 (or in fact any game as far as I can recall)
  18. If you're wanting to increase the size of your map in ETS2 then this is the mod you want to get: TSM Map Version 4.x | ETS 2 mods Works with version 1.4.8 as well. Screenshots of the new map: Screenshot Thread! - Page 422 | turboduck forum
  19. Nice work, shame about the circle that no-one has figured out how to disable I installed the latest TSM map for ETS which increases map size by adding more roads and countries (Denmark, Spain, Morocco, Lybia, Egypt, Greece, etc) - my Exploration stat dropped from almost 50% to around 25% now. On a delivery from CZ to Denmark: And then while I was up there I drove to some of the other nearby towns to mark them as discovered, and to that I could search for more more jobs to find the highest paying ones Loads of new roads and ferry-routes:
  20. 80% of encountered players will all be using the fully specc'ed Performance tuning no doubt, with Raid probably being the next most popular. If I can get performance with changing the look of the car then even better
