Car Spotting: What You Saw Recently! - Part 2

It's not a tease, teasing would be posting two photo's of something without showing the whole thing... So now it's a tease. ;)- 3,087 replies

@Milli: Honda Beat's are rarer than the Cappo over here in the UK...and don't even ask about AZ1's. Take care of it! The SW20's are good and seem to be reliable so onto a winner! But if it's been thrashed alot (which, alot of them have been) then look out, and if working on the engine is anything like the AW11 MR2's...then good luck! Wish I was able to get my one back on the road, but alas it never happened.

Suzuki Cappuccino. Or so i keep telling myself... -
Although it seem's the game has run it's course with alot of people, I still play it regularly with mates so this'll add nicely for it. :D Can see the Saturday after it comes out is going to be playing this and a few drinks.

Not to forget that the GTi range has gotten some of it's mojo back. Not too surprised with them talking of the politics of it all with McLaren/Ferrari. Although McLaren have hinted at twitter its more Ferrari's fault, saying how they had the car set up for it and how it was TG who stopped the test. I remember back when the 12C came out, Evo did a track test with the 458, 12C and the Noble M600. And both Ferrari & McLaren sent over a full team of technicians while Noble had just the guy who delivered the car.

It looked to be a good episode until the last part. I mean I know the Peugeot range after the x06 model range is rather dull, but it seem'd as if they had the cars in the car park and went "lets try do something" and that was the end result. I mean surely could have done more with the older stuff?

It's the second time I've sat and watched it in years, and was surprised to see it's still much better than expected. To be honest, I was thinking "Oh, a Defender sendoff part? Should be good, maybe giving it a good bit of mud plugging or somthing." Sadly it was't, and although it could have been a good idea and a challenge, it really was't much different from what was done in the advert they did in the advert. Insted of using a winch from the dam to pull it up, they used a winch on the car. Now if it was using the original engine and all it'd have been impressive, but using a second engine just for the winch. Another thing that bugged me on that, as how in the Ad it was a Defender 90, where;s they used a series 1. Chances are, LR & TG could have teamed up to use a current Defender 90 and attempt it, which would have been great PR for them both! But that's just nit picking that last bit!

What is the most improtant part of a car?
calster17 replied to Camel's topic in Automotive Discussion
Price is an odd one, as if getting used like I do...the gateway is massive. And by used, I mean the 10 year + range! For £1500 there is alot! Which is why i said how the mechanical side is top. :) -

Depend's on how much you want to boil it down to. Me? Well considering I'm always buying cars that are 10 years or older it has to be if it's mechanically fine. Once I know it is, it has to be the brakes and tyres. As that's what's making you stop and keeping you on the road. Look's? Well it depends on the car really, if it's one of my 'sheds' then as long as it's not structural i'm not too fussed. The perfect example of this is both my old Clio & the Kia Rio i'm currently running. Both have seen better day's looks wise in terms of rust, but mechanically fine (other than the dicky alternator on the Rio). Driving dynamics? Depends on what the car is for, again i'll use the Rio as an example. It's being used as a runabout/van so handling is't high up on the list of need's. Meanwhile the Cappuccino is all for fun, and thankfully it delivers on that part in the buck loads! That said, if I was getting a car new then the set of thing's would boil down to what's fun but not too comprising. I.e a Caterham 7 would't work as an everyday car for me (as much as I'd want it to) because of several reasons, but a Twingo Gordini would. -

the crew The Crew: Car List - [UP29: Mar 1st 2016]
calster17 replied to CarMadMike's topic in Driving & Racing Games
Folk talking about the RR/Disco 4 picture. It's a First gen RR sport. Rear window/roof bar's missing are a big indicator. ;) Shame it's not a Disco 1 or 2 though... Would be interesting to see if more car's are shipped once the current lot of DLC is done with though. -
But he's also great in Hot Fuzz..."Mr Skinner to the manager office" - Hard one to pick really. Pierce Brosnan pick of the modern Bond's and Sean Connery for the classic's. Worst film for me? Casino Royal. Seemed more like it could be any generic espionage movie and as a result I never seen Quantum of Solace. Best? Die another day or Gold Finger, although Dr. No is high up. Bond girl? In no order,: Christmas Jones (World is not enough) & Honey Ryder (Dr. No) spring to mind Worst Car? the DBS....why? No gadgets other than a de-fib kit. I mean what use is that when being chased? And Best Car? The Esprit's and Vanquish. Although like everyone, a special spot for the DB5. And special mentions to the Vantage, Sumbeam Alpine and Toyota 2000GT drop top. :D

Sorry to hear about it Ken!But least your okay and the car is at least salvageable! Even if it's an insurance write off should be able to buy it back from them? (Is the case here in the UK)

What 2015 Gaming Releases are you looking forward to?
calster17 replied to CarMadMike's topic in Gaming Discussion
- Ride. It look's like it'll be a bike edition of DriveClub, made by the same guys who make the superbike games and such. - Elder Scroll's online (PS4) Because Elder Scroll's that's why. Nothing else springs to mind just now. Really want to put pCAR's down but I've been playing racing games less and less since I've been driving IRL and with the trackday season already started this year...- 18 replies
