1. Plans. :cheeky: And thanks. :) Want it on the road first, (its legally a sitting paperweight just now) and have some fun over the summer. Then there's new parts for it, basic service, tyres, exhaust(may get something a bit throaty & raspy for it) as well as new brakes. As well as getting the while underneath of the car under sealed. Plans after than I'm keeping myself though. :nods: Although I am planning a more in depth restore soon for it
2. I'm sure some of you know the back story, somewhat of a love affair. I've had a thing for the little Suzuki ever since Gran Turismo 4, after finding the little car with the name of a drink I though it was funny. Turns out it was a great giant killer in the game as well. I took an interest in the thing, looking up random facts, info, dreaming how I'd like one IRL, eventually getting obsessed with the thing. The year's went by and the Gran Turismo games came out, firing my love up again. Every so often I'd look and see if any were for sale, which being a rare car in the UK makes them kinda hard to come by at times. As the years go by and life go's on I was always on the lookout. When finally able to drive and with a proper job things got even more real and the hunt to get one got fired up even more, looking at about 4 over the past 2 & a bit years traveling all over (one trip alone was 1200 miles altogether!). Then on April 2nd, my I get a text from my dad, saying "Theres a coffee for sale on Pistonheads, its local". After finding it I could't get over that one was finally for sale locally and going cheap. Low mileage and some welding needed, seemed too good to be true! After messaging the guy and asking to have a look I had to wait 3 weeks(guy worked on the oil rigs). The day comes and we got to have a look, bodywork is good & expected from a 20 year old car and it runs sweet, and has a full history and EVERYTHING is there. Oh and it was an original UK car. It has't been on the road since 2008 and needed a bit of welding. I took the risk and bought it for £1450. Good price considering the mileage (36k miles) and the fact that it could need the full works in terms of welding(a normal cappuccino thing). You normally pay about £2500 for one, and that's with double the miles and it could still need welding. So after years I finally own a Cappuccino, pleased as punch you could say. After getting it moved to a garage to give it and MOT and work on the Sills, my worst fear is confirmed and it need's welding on all the normal places a expected on a Cappuccino. Can't say i never expected it, but a little gutted to say the least. But it's nothing in the grand scale of things, I half expected it and it'll be getting done! Just a few of the bits... So watch this space! As I know exactly what I'm doing to it. Be worried, this pint sized motor has't gotten named after James dean's 550 for nothing! ;)
3. A splendid motor you got! Fine torque punch and shed loads of space in the back. :)
4. So, I got the Cappo, wont be on the road for a wee while... Yeah. I'm going to at this a little while longer than planned! On the plus side, mechanically it's fine!
5. Also in WTCC he won on his & the cars debut race this year.
6. Colin McRae crashed alot, but just got on with it. Also he actually did well in the rally's. :nods:
7. As far as I know he was sort of just there in the WRC, dont think he was part of the main Ford team (like he was in the B team) even in the US championship I mind he was something like 10th place. That was a few years ago though!
8. The man himself? He's a good guy and would be good to hang around with. The hype & fanboys? No. It was annoying being a rally fan when he his the mainstream as everyone treated him as if he was god....only in terms of actual rally he was't actually that good compared to everyone else.
9. I know that as you said. :cheeky: Just commenting on how good it is in the pic, and how if that's how it actually comes out then 'Daym thats nice!'
10. That is a nice improvement on the scratches! I'm guessing you haven't just ordered a boatload of T-Cut? I'll no doubt be doing a long list of car related crap next week...all extras for the coffee.
11. I always said it in relation to this meme...
12. I think my over-expecting hype train has been derailed now. (Expecting more Touring cars and such, actual licensed championships like BTCC, WTCC, DTM, etc) Looks like it could be good and all, but seems to be more they have gone back to 2008 and re-made GRiD and saying it'll have better handling. With people going on about that PCARS game and how it's also coming out for PS4, I think i'll just likely get that insted. Shame, as do like to support Codies, but I think our relationship has been going downhill since 2010.
13. They are smaller than everyone thinks the Cappuccino. Expecting it to be the size of the MX5 or MGB and such. It's Original Mini sized roughly! Reason why they are often refered to as road legal go-karts! The X90 is a off-road, drop top, sports thing... Funny you say that Tim, as sadly whenever I've been looking there's always more Cappo's being broken than there is cars for sale! But as you said it's good news for me I guess! Organizing it's pick-up, welding and MOT tomorrow so hopefully get that done by Friday. Doubt it'd be ready by then buy fingers crossed! :D
14. I was getting good connection when I was on. Started building a house on top of a hill...sure some of you have seen the foundations and all.
15. A normal UK sized (rectangle) is just as funny in size for the car, being roughly half the length of the thing! It is kinda weird when you see it, it's smaller than it looks(but it's still small, like original mini sized roughly). Epic to drive though, even if its weird as it feels your in a big car thanks to how high the dash is! And if your thinking of coilovers for the 135, I salute you! :)
16. The RS4 is not that rare(at least in this area of Scotland), but the Integrale...daym! :drools: Also in the same part of town, house a few doors down from who we got the 406 Coupe off of had what looked like a Maserati GrandTurismo under a cover in his garage! (not to ention the Audi S5 in the drive & a brand new Range Rover Sport in the driveway...)
17. One cup of coffee later... I'll be putting more info up on my car thread later. Also my dad got a 406 Coupe, which is something I've always fancied.
18. Just casually saw a Audi RS4 Avant & a Lancia Delta Integrale in a up-market part of town. A real Integrale at that, not a UK spec car made to look the part. LHD and all.
19. Not getting too excited yet, need to get it past it's MOT first! Then i'll be a much more happy chappy! :nods:
20. Hope it's a BTCC/GT themed game. All the BTCC tracks & teams from this year(and add in the support races, and even one or two classic touring cars). Hell also add in a few custom tracks and of course Loch Rannoch! :D (although I've been to the actual Loch Rannoch many a times, I've never once seen a BTCC car there...which is maybe a good thing!) Maybe hoping too much there, but one can dreammmmmmmm! (and for everything else, I've still got this baby)
21. So running it on normal MC? Gives me a reason to dust it off & update. Damm I haven't played it properly since before they added horses in!
22. - Joke aside, guessing we'll have to design a Turboduck livery made for it? If the editor is good anyway!
23. Get sat-nav, get free £25 travel kit with it. Although I know my way around the local area, when venture across the border(South of Dundee...) this'll come in handy. Put it to the test on roads I know in town & back roads, Actually easy to use and so far worked fine, only failed when it said it's okay to do 70 in a bit of road that's now 50(although the road has only just became a 50 at that part admittedly), and sometimes on the back roads it was't telling of junctions when there was and such like. Anyway, expect a review over at Blown Turbos sometime.
