Microsoft are ramping up Scoprio news ahead of E3 2017. They have given an exclusive agreement to one of their biggest critics, Digital Foundry, who are known for analysing performance (or lack of) in great detail. Check out their report here Whilst the raw specs may remind some of 2-3 year-old gaming PC's, mass produced consoles will always be more efficient in their design, use of system resources, and may attract better coding and Q&A. Since this console is a mid-cycle upgrade, designers have been able to tweak the new hardware to perform better with existing game engines, rather than rely on developers to make adaptations based on new hardware. If you don't own any Xbox One console, are you now tempted by this elite offering? If you have the original or S variant, will you upgrade? Will you go all out and get a 4K HDR screen as well? Is the inclusion of a 4K BluRay player required these days or rendered moot by online streaming services? (Upscaled 1080p already looks amazing on my display). Add your thoughts below!

UPDATE: Feb 3rd 2016 - PlayStation Store also has the Standard and Deluxe Editions at 60% off! [headline]NEED FOR DISCOUNTED SPEED[/headline] There appears to be a bit of a an EA Sales Bonanza going on in the Xbox Marketplace right now, and as part of this, Xbox One players with Xbox Live Gold can get the most recent Need for Speed for what we work out to be a 67% discount. And unlike previous iterations, this one has been very well received and with the support and listening that Ghost Games is doing, that will only continue… though the volume of people shouting for new cars all over social media is fairly deafening. xbox one New Xbox Elite Controller: Will you be upgrading?
CarMadMike posted a topic in Gaming Discussion
Hey :duck:s, So one of the big announcements alongside backwards compatibility at 2015's MS E3 conference was the announcement of a new Elite Wireless Controller: - Hair Trigger Locks - More precise/accurate toggles - Rear mounted gear-shift leaves - Customizable usability - Swappable Components - Windows 10 Compatible The current standard wireless controller retails at $59.99/£44.99, so the new one will probably have some kind of elite pricetag to match. Will you be upgrading to the Elite controller? Is this just a fad aimed at CoD 14 year olds that simply must kill as many n00bs as possible? New buttons have been introduced, how will gaming companies introduce usability to these buttons if not everyone will have them? Unless new Xbox Ones will ship with this controller. If new games are designed with the Elite controller in mind, will you have a fairly lesser experience on your standard amateur controller? -
While it seems that the PS4 is both more powerful and more popular at the moment, Microsoft are on the ball with delivering software updates in quick succession. Maj. Nelson details what's new in the latest release Does any of this tempt or sway your console-buying decision-making process? Or are you still a bit of a Sheldon?

Microsoft is to release a Kinect-less Xbox One SKU on June 9, the platform holder has confirmed. The SKU will cost $399 in North America and is expected to retail for £349 in the UK. "Since the beginning, we have focused on delivering great games and entertainment experiences for you," said Xbox chief Phil Spencer. "Your feedback matters to us and it shapes the products and services we build. Your feedback showed up in the Xbox One console we launched back in November and in the monthly updates we've delivered since." "We've heard that you want more choices from Xbox One," he continued. "You want a wide variety of options in your games and entertainment experiences and you also want options in your hardware selection." Despite dropping Kinect from the box, Spencer claims that the peripheral will continue to be an "an important part of our vision". "Many of you are using Kinect for Xbox One every day," he says. "In fact, more than 80 percent of you are actively using Kinect, with an average of 120 voice commands per month on each console. Some of the most popular voice commands include 'Xbox On,' 'Xbox Broadcast' and 'Xbox Record That.' We will continue to offer a premium Xbox One with Kinect bundle to deliver voice and gesture controls, biometric sign-in, instant personalization, instant scanning of QR codes, and enhanced features only available with Kinect in games such as 'Kinect Sports Rivals,' 'Just Dance 2014,' 'Project Spark' and more." For those who wish to purchase Kinect at a later date, a standalone Kinect sensor will be available to purchase from autumn. Thanks - Microsoft to release Kinect-less Xbox One - VideoGamer.com

The Xbox One has been getting a few jabs and even a couple of uppercuts in certain regions of Europe and this was understandable as Europe is basically PlayStation territory, however one place where Xbox did have down comfortably was the UK but the tide has turned a good bit with the next-gen duo as PS4 is starting to build up a lead. A lot of this could be down to the very clever and memory evoking brand play of the PS1 and PS2 Sony UK used or it could be that people don't like paying £80 extra for a system with weaker specs and a peripheral they have no real desire for, but hey who knows! :cheeky: In fighting spirit though Microsoft UK have come out with this reduction of £30 to £399.99 starting this coming Friday the 28th February. Not only that though as they will be giving away a free digital download version of Titanfall to people who purchase their new Titanfall bundle so even though it still costs more and is less-powerful it's price is now a lot closer to that of the PS4. The Xbox One 'Titanfall' bundle is also going to be available globally but with no price reduction... or increase so a free game is good for those of you who waited, but a bit of a kick in the dogs danglies for you early adopters, but hey! That's the risk you take being one of the first right? So does this make you want to get one now? :p

Twitch has been a success on PS4 what with 20% of streaming on the service coming via its users but now Xbox One is getting in on the action and providing a 'less limiting' experience than what Sony's offering does. Market speak you gotta love it, regardless this is a good thing as both consoles will now be providing their users the ability to stream the greatness or complete dire attempts at gaming for all to see and comment upon! That's where things get interesting, no not the trolls or try-hards but the way developers can make the game react to what people are saying via the chat. Examples that are already in existence or are coming are the ability to give a player health, items or be evil and spawn more or powerful enemies for them to face. It's no longer a watch and that's it type thing, it's getting people involved and in a good way too. Of course you're going to have those people who try and push it but that's the world we are in today and except for the actions of a few dodgy blokes this will be a valuable feature for both consoles to have. And being Xbox we of course have to have acheivements... Thanks - Gamasutra - Xbox One finally gets Twitch livestreaming alongside Titanfall

Microsoft have said that their somewhat generous "Games with Gold" (GWG) program where Xbox Live Gold subscribers get 2 free games a month will also be coming to the Xbox One next generation console in 2014. The program has been called out sometimes unfavourably compared to the PlayStation's PSPlus competitor which offers it's subscribers top rated games and not titles as old as the console itself like 'GWG' has done. But hey! Free games people, that's a good thing right? More promisingly I guess, is that with the Xbox One getting this a little into a year of it's introduction that the games have to at least be relatively new and not years old. :) via News: Free 'Games with Gold' coming to Xbox One - CVG UK

Microsoft have been seen re-creating a massive version of their forthcoming Xbox One games multimedia TV NFL "next Watercooler" system on the streets of Vancouver in .....where? ....really? ...people actually care about that place to do this? ok... Canada. Rumours that are completely made-up talk about a giant Kinect floating in orbit above watching, recording and stealing the data and details of those within the area. via Xbox One, the destroyer: Microsoft's weird marketing blitz is novelty sized | The Verge

xbox one Xbox One: Invitation Ad - It's actually really good.
Eudemon posted a topic in Gaming Discussion
So it appears the advertising for Xbox One is going to be starting very shortly and our first real glimpse at it has been uploaded today via the official xbox youtube channel. It's a good ad and definitely does all that's needed to entice not only gamers but also the general public into taking notice of what the system offers. Only real issue I see is by using Gerrard, they've possibly killed their chances of sales in Manchester, London ...well everywhere apart from Liverpool I guess. :cheeky: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1mfIg1I3zE-

Microsoft have today announced that those of you who have pre-ordered an Xbox One in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland can get stuffed......... will unfortunately not be getting their console in 2013 like the important territories they actually care about other territories such as USA, UK, Spain, Italy and more. They don't even mention Japan so they're obviously dumped, I'm sure they'll get over it though. They do plan on getting to you guys as early as possible in 2014 as they can and they will give you a FREE game others have been playing for months before you as a sorry. So that makes it all good right? http://news.xbox.com/2013/08/xbox-one-confirmed-markets
