^ Buy a DSLR! Its what I did. Found a second hand D50 with the 18-55 and 70-300 plus a few filters on ebay for £320. Thats all I've been using so far.

Also depends on what country you live in.

In Belgium camera stuff is way more expensive then the UK. (For example, 17-85 in Holland: 240. In Belgium i saw it for around 500!)

That's nothing compared to Singapore. A brand new 500D with a kit lens cost my friend $1400 a couple weeks back

A couple taken yesterday at Birnie Loch about a half hour drive away. It was an amazing day and I was concentrating on trying to take some decent photos of the "Common Blue" Damselflies flying around.

 

They are similar to Dragonflies but they only have a single set of wings and are smaller in overall size.
