^ I think that would look better without the house in the foreground. I don't want to insult (possibly) your home, but it doesn't look that nice in the photo.

I know, I've been thinking that a lot of times. But, it is our neighbours house and not that easy to move :cheeky: Anyways, sometimes it does make for quite nice effects, like this :) Picture is old and over the limit, hence the link

^ Yeah you need a flash on that one, but not at the iPod (or reflections galore! :p). I have a professional flash which I can rotate and use to bounce light off the ceiling etc.

 

And Car Freak, thats a black T-Shirt - nothing special. I would love to have a lightbox but don't want to spend money on one.

^ If you have a DSLR, that could have done with a lower aperture, and maybe lower shutter, but its still pretty good. Just that you might have been able to fix the overexposing in the middle. If it came out of a PaS, it is very good.

PaS? Sorry dude, I`m not really into those things and don`t know many of the terms. I`ve done it with Canon Powershot A700. ;)

I think your lens needs a good wipe though. First thing I noticed, other than the light, was the spots in the bottom half of the pic. Composition wise though, I like it a lot. Very simple shot. If needs be, you could straighten it properly with photoshop or picnik.com or whatever and that'll make it just a little bit better...

Yes, I admit that I haven`t cleaned it this month. I had a walk just before getting back home and taking this shot, so yeah, I`ll clean it. :)

There are 3 types of camera - Point and Shoots (PaS), Bridges and DSLRs. Yours is a PaS, as all it is mostly used for is pointing and shooting. Bridge cameras are sort of blurred in with these, and are sort of more advanced PaS cameras, such as the Powershot S series. SLR cameras are when the lens can be removed and replaced.

The A700 has full manual controls (Av, Tv, and M modes), so you don't need a DSLR for that ;)

 

In your case though you the easiest thing is to either add some -ve exposure compensation or use the spot metering. Both of which your camera has, so read the manual :p

It`s nice but imo it`s too much going on it. The big ship in the back just gets the attention and then the other two are distracting you...well, not the best explanation but I`m sure you got my idea. ;)
