I'm not on about using an old photo, fair enough you got to take a new one to enter nothing wrong with that. The fact you have to provide a date! If someone cheats and gets an old photo then boo hoo on them, kudos to them who do take a photo.

Now mate, don't over-do it. If you don't wanna play, don't. No-one is making you. If you want to play, play by the rules as others do. ;)
