As the title says, post your pushbikes!

Seeing as there wasn't a thread for it, I thought I'd start it.

Pushbikes only! Nothing powered by anything other than yourself! :p

Let's get started then...

2007 GT Aggressor XC3. Had it brand new since the end of June 2009 (was still in its box at work, got it stupidly cheap, as it was reduced, and then I added my 15% staff discount on top).

Things I changed on it:

- Lock-on handlebar grips

- Handlebar ends

- Solid aluminium bar end plugs

- Chainstay guard

- Front and rear mudguards

- Blue DMR V8 pedals (not shown in photos).

- Longer handlebar stem (not shown in photos).

-------------------------------------------

I recently decided to try BMX'ing. Got this lovely 2007 GT Tour from a colleague at work who needed rid of it as he is building up a bare BMX frame at the moment, and has a few other bikes, and a small flat. Didn't cost much, and it's in rather nice condition. When I got it, it was dusty from being in a cupboard for a couple of months . As can be seen in the photos, I've put better tyres on it (Maxxis Holy Rollers) as the standard GT tyres are rubbish in anything other than totally dry weather. I've also changed the grips for some nice white ones, and added a set of lights, for riding at night (safety first!)

It's got a 36T chainwheel on the front, but it has a tiny freewheel, as the gearing still feels rather high. When I rode the Aggressor after riding this though, it felt weird, I had to keep changing up all the time!

I don't go biking much and I'm not putting a bike which is apparently pretty good to much use. I inherited it from my uncle who keeps buying bikes for some reason even though each one he has is perfectly acceptable for what he does.

I have a Claud Butler Cape Wrath D24. I don't have an actual picture of it on my PC but this is an image taken from Google.

This is my dads latest bike, it's a Giant Defy 4.

And his new bike next to his MTB Cube bike.

  • 7 months later...

Might aswell bump this thread. Recently been spending alot of time trying to sort out my old bike. It's not an expensive bike by a big name brand, nor does it have top-notch components but it's my bike :p

Had it for years, I go out on it at least once a week and have done for ages so it was a bit under the weather and seeing as I'm thinking of joining the Mountain Bike club when I go to uni I thought it needed an overhaul.

Stuff I've done/added:

  • Replaced seat with a more comfortable, stronger one
  • Replaced worn tyres with ATB tyres + new inner tubes
  • Replaced plastic, broken brake levers with proper metal ones
  • Replaced brake cables, the old ones were frayed
  • Replaced handlebar grips with proper gel ones
  • Un-buckled both wheels (don't ask, I used to do jumps in it :o)
  • Added front and rear lights
  • Fixed suspension (it was completely frozen)
  • Adjusted front and rear brakes, front one was un-useable
  • Taken off the tacky stickers
  • Oiled everything (It's amazing how many problems can be fixed with oil)
  • Removed the holder, magnet and sensor for my old cycle computer
  • Tightened spokes
  • Cleaned wheel rims and got the worst of the mud off

The paint is still badly scratched in places (see photos) but overall it's alot better than it was. Some photos:
