I thought that was a scruffy Harrison Ford at first...

To be honest I've never even heard of this, but this will likely prompt a wiki search. It's sad that this happens, but in a way I wonder if things like this should sometimes be left alone. I understand keeping it alive out of respect, but soon enough we'll be remembering 50 years, at which point few of us will even have been alive when it happened. Remembrance day makes sense. What they fought for allows us to live as we do today. 9/11 is in all our memories. VA tech was in front of us everywhere we go.

Also, what's with the double standard when it's all done at once? I'm sure there are kids down in Toronto or Chicago or [city name here] that have done in far more than that, and not because of a psychoses. They do it for fun and recognition. Just bothers me.

Or am I being cold and callous? The -rep button is right there. >

yea that is true but in a small country like this that sort of thing can make a huge impact on a community of such a small town where this happened and on so many peoples lives especially because they never thought that sort of thing could happen in New Zealand

The thing is though that that kind of thing can happen anywhere. In his case, and in most like it, it's not a cultural basis, it's psychoses. The chemical are out of balance and nothing is done to help it.
