Hardware issue

Hello

When i open my DVD burner tray, on the computer im building, ( i have the case, motherboard, dvd drive and W-Lan card only, for now ) It goes isntantly back in.

I took it to the shop where i bought it and it worked fine there, just plugged to teh PSU, and both to the PSU and the motherboard.

I noticed at home that when i connect it only to the PSU its fine.

But if i connect it to the motherboard and the PSU, it comes back in as soon as it opens.

I tried another SATA cable and SATA port on the motherboard.

Could it be due to the lack of CPU? ( i doubt, but i hope so)

Or could it be a damaged motherboard?

Please help me on that one lol

thanks

The motherboard is the Asus M4A78LT-M

What Ryzza said. Lol

The more you piss around with it the more likely you are to damage something. Don't keep putting the motherboard in the case and taking it out again because you're more likely to pass static electricity onto it and break it, same goes for just about everything else. You should leave everything in their anti-static bags until you have everything you need to build it.

Thanks for all the replies ;)

I also dialed the store and they also said it can be due to the lack of CPU.

Before turning it on without CPU, sometime ago, when i bought the PSU, just to check Panel connections and fans, the dude on the store told me there is no problem at all just powering it up with no CPU/RAM, to test the panel connections etc.

Anyways

thankies :)
